Excellent customer service. The food was so flavorful. I ordered a veggie brown rice. I spoke to her about my dietary restrictions at that time and she (the owner) was so accommodating. The smell of the rice alone was intoxicating! My mouth kind of waters just thinking about it. Soon as I opened it when I got to my destination heads were turning asking me what I was eating. It was amazing!!! It taste just as good it it smells. I should also note that they have vegan sauce option for all my vegan friends! They have been open for about a year. This is an amazing restaurant at an amazing price. I made the yelp mistake of eating all my food before I could take a picture of it and only realized it during my after meal stupor. We tried the pad thai, broccoli beef, and yellow chicken curry. Some reviews noted that they were a little protein stingy but I'm not a big meat eater so I can't speak on this. The flavors were absolutely delightful, vegetables were fresh, and felt like real home cooked food. What my mom would cook... if my mom was Thai and not Mexican. But because my mom is Mexican I asked for anything spicy to supplement our meal. They were happy to give us chili oil and jalpeños. The staff was also delightful. We got asked by three different family members in this family owned business if we liked the food. It feels really good to support small/family owned business while eating amazing food. read more

We live on the southwest side of Houston but are staying up here temporarily. We ordered 4 different dishes. We eat this type of food alot and it might be the best Thai food we have had in Houston. My husband, daughter and I went on a weeknight evening and had a great meal! We enjoyed the shrimp appetizer, soup, curry and pad thai, Thai tea and amazing homemade warm mango dessert with sticky rice. Portions were generous and the quality of the food was good. They obviously put a lot of care into their food and take pride in it. They grow their own kefir limes and lemongrass organically to use in their food. The owner served us and cooked. She split our curry order into two so my husband could get his extra spicy and she was very kind to our messy toddler. My husband was concerned because the area is a little shady, but the parking lot was large enough and tidy and the restaurant was very clean. I hope the owner reads this. The spray they use to wipe the tables is way too strong for such a small place. It gets mixed in with the taste of the food. Find something what is unscented and isn't a spray so no fine droplets are mixed into the air. I will definitely make the drive and order to go, mainly because of the spray. We finally found our favorite Thai place in Houston! I see why it's on Allison Cook's top 100 restaurants. I had the pad see ew with beef and broccoli. My husband had the basil fried rice with chicken. It's a small restaurant but it's clean and the service was good. Lots of people get their order to-go. I think it's family owned. This is a tiny, very basic mom and pop Thai eatery in Acres Home. Including the cooks, it's run by 3-4 family members, there are maybe 5 tables in the restaurant, so it is more convenient for take out. But don't let the modest, humble appearance deters you, because they are the friendliest folks and also one of the most authentic Thai restaurants in Houston. Comparing to other Thai restaurants, they are generous with portions and inexpensive prices, flavorful, freshly made-to-order and authentic (they have some Chinese style food like orange chicken on their menu,I don't order the Chinese food, but I'm sure the dishes are good in their Chinese-Thai version). All the soups Tom yum, Tom kha gai and the curries have nice good depth, hallmark of any decent Thai restaurants. Due to their modest price, beef dishes such as tiger cry beef is not their strong dish here, in my opinion, lacking grill flavor and not the beef cut I am used to. I usually order the Thai dishes not usually found at other restaurants. My favorite dish here are pad cha pla and nam khao tod; for the adventurous eaters, they also have Tom Sab spicy tripe soup (similar to menudo). Pad cha pla, also called herbal fish, is very flavorful stir-fried chunks of lightly battered crispy catfish and eggplants, full of flavors from expertly thinly artfully julienned strips of galanga, ginger, lemongrass (one only appreciates julienned lemongrass, if one if ever tries to slice or chop the tough fibrous lemongrass!) basil, and tendrils of whole green peppercorn with a deep red spicy sauce, topped with deep fried basil leaves. It's a beautiful presentation when freshly made, but when ordering to go, this dish is hidden and overshadowed in a foil-lined styrofoam food container. Don't miss this fish dish full of depth if your taste buds wants to explore more than the usual fried fish. The owners/cooks here are husband and wife team so there can be some variations in the same dish, although both their version are very good....(Mr. and Mrs. if you are reading this review, whoever makes the pad cha pla like described above is the clear winner!) read more

We ordered the pad Thai and fried rice for lunch and some egg rolls. The food was delicious, although the fried rice was a bit on the greasy side. The restaurant and bathrooms were nice and clean. Overall, a really nice find for lunch. My only petty complaint is that the napkins are thin and I'm talking super thin...like 1/5 ply. They have dispensers on the table so you can use as many as you need easily, but I felt like I must be killing a tree with how many I needed. read more

My sister and I always feel like we are at home with mom's cooking here, except this owner lady is friendlier than our mom! The waiter (seems to be the son) is always helpful. Food is soooo good. We always get the fried tilapia with herbs and brown sauce on the side. The sauce is so good that my sister always asks for a togo container so she can cook with it at home. The red curry is so delicious. It's perfectly spiced and not too creamy. I'm so salivating thinking about it. We've also had the pad ke mow noodles. They are well sauced and not too greasy.
