From reading reviews prior to arrival my anxiety was spiked, but really it wasn't that bad if you come prepared to wait armed with patience and a good book. I arrived at 1:15pm on a Thursday and the line was nearly to 30th Ave. At 1:52 I had gone through the ticketing gate and I was 2nd in line for my bay (#5). The waiting bay has 3 chairs and is very narrow. There were only about 3-5 of us in there at a time. The man issuing tickets, Viviana who checked my car in, and the woman who checked me out (camo hoodie) all couldn't have been nicer. It's a pretty thankless and repetitive job, but they were kind, polite, and pretty fast. I was on my way by 2:29. There is an additional 3% fee for credit card payments. Overall, it sucks we have to do this once every 5 years but you have a choice as to how you treat others and how it affects your day. Bring a book and a snack, take a chill pill, and say thank you. read more

The sign at the entrance clearly states that you close at 5:30 PM. However, your website indicates that you may close early if the queue is full. For the past two days, I've attempted to arrive at exactly 5 PM, as I cannot leave work any earlier. Each time, I find the gate closed and the entrance blocked off by cones; your queue is either empty or, like today, had 4 cars waiting in the queue at 5 o'clock. If you are closing at 5 PM, it is essential that you update your signs and website to reflect this accurately. Misleading customers is unacceptable. Your time is not more important than ours, do better! read more

Fast. Easy. Friendly. I arrived on a not very busy day and got my emissions and VIN verification taken care within 20 min.

I do not recommend this place at all! Waited in line for a good 30 minutes even though there were 7 lanes. They failed my vehicle for a gas cap one of the workers told me to change it and come back later that day since that's all the car needed. I went back and waited in line when one of the workers signaled the others to pull me to the side. They then proceeded to tell me that the car failed the OBD test which didn't make sense because they didn't even do a scan also it passed the scan the first time I went. They sent me to another location and turns out that they put many flags on my car which I was told at the second location that all those flags were unnecessary and just because of them making excuses so they could close early I got completely screwed over at this spot. This review is based on Viviana Cardazo's service at check out. The rest of the process was smooth. Went to Air Care CO for the first time as I was told by the DMV I needed to get my emissions done in order to register my vehicle as an out of state driver. I knew it would take some time so I went mid day and planned to wait. The process through the line was smooth as well as the inspection. I followed suit with the rest of the individuals who were told to sit in the waiting area while my car was serviced. I was actively shopping for new insurance policies with my broker on the phone and like others, when my car made it out of the bay- I came out of the waiting area. I was met by Viviana who was immediately disgusted that she had to do her job. She looked me up and down, rolled her eyes and asked which vehicle was mine. I pointed it out while verbalizing the make and model. She didn't say a word and proceeded to walk towards my vehicle to which I followed. Once again, this is my first time having an emissions test done which I verbalized and apologized as I'm not sure how the process goes. She retorted "well if you would've read the sign inside it says to sit and wait to be called". I replied that I did not read the signs as I am clearly still actively on the phone. I mentioned briefly seeing a ton of Spanish ones but nothing in English. Again, she retorted "excuse me?" I reiterated, I did not see any English signs. She proceeded to walk back into the waiting area to look around at the signs pointing at and stating there were multiple languages as she huffed her way back to her station. She muttered under her breath a question for me that I did not hear. I asked her to repeat herself and she very loudly and ignorantly spoke to me as though I was hard of hearing and asked if I needed a VIN Verification which I said yes please. I told her I'm not sure what her attitude was about but I have been nothing but patient with her so she should do the same. She got more upset and said "I don't have an attitude!" As she vigorously typed in the computer. I couldn't help but chuckle at this point. She blurted out "it'll be $50" as she proceeded to walk away and attend the next customer. I had my card out ready to pay prior to her walking away. She came back annoyed again and said "it's $50", to which I responded when she was ready my card has been waiting for her. She gave me a death stare and took my card. She printed her receipt, my paperwork and yet again walked away. Moments later she uttered "you can go now" to which at this point I laughed and retorted I'm not going anywhere without my paperwork and a receipt. She said, "oh of course you need a receipt". I laughed as she came back and finished her job and shoved the papers at me. I made sure to add in a have a nice day as I proceeded to my vehicle. Needless to say, this woman needs a lesson on customer service and humility. If she hates her job so much, get a new one! I was highly amused at her ignorance and got a kick out of her mere frustration with my utmost patience during one of thee most unprofessional and rude encounters in customer service to date! read more

Terrible service. My car failed the emissions test yesterday because of the gas cap. I bought a new cap, and today I brought it in at 12:45. It was my turn to have my car inspected and run, but they told me they couldn't because it was emitting white smoke. My car wasn't emitting white smoke; the slight smoke it had was normal. Since they were about to close, they made up any excuse to get rid of me. They are abusive and show a lack of commitment to their work. I also saw another person being told they couldn't run their car either, with a thousand excuses so they could close before 1:00. They don't care if the customer is waiting for hours for their emissions service because they want to go home early. Bad service; I don't recommend this location. read more

Unreal. I wonder who's getting a kickback in our state government to let these lazy do-nothings stand around and run things like we don't have any other choice. Oh yeah, we don't have any other choice. They LITTERALY put up a sign saying that you're not allowed to take pictures or record video of them standing around in packs, doing essentially nothing, wasting the citizens time. Well, I don't subscribe to their illegal policy. Picture posted. They had us waiting on a 'slow day' when they could have had just a bit of give an F and there'd have been no wait at all. They didn't even do anything but stick a sensor in my gas tank hole, press a button, then wait 15 minutes after it concluded (in like 2 minutes, which I could see) to move my car out of the building. It sat there in the sun getting nice and hot for another 15 minutes before some gal chatting away with her lazy colleagues (which I could also easily see) finally was like, "Audi. Who got the Audi?". Useless. This service should be free if the government is forcing it upon us. $1 would be too much. No. They should pay us for our time. That might speed things up. read more

Absolutely garbage experience. The website says that one of the better times to come is on a Saturday, in the middle of the month, later on in the day to avoid the morning rush. So that's exactly what I did, I arrived at 11 and after waiting for an hour, I was told I wasn't going to make in it time for closing. This is completely unacceptable, it's not like any of us want to be here in the first place. Absolute hell. Showed up a half hour before they opened and there were about 20 cars ahead of me. Waited three hours and they didn't pass me because they couldn't disengage the automatic stabilizer. This was after the dude warned me at hour 2.5 that they were having "technical difficulties" and might have to shut the place down for a week. I arrived at 7:55 and was here until 10 am other people got In And out quickly definitely not a good system going at all but what do you expect it's ran by the city of Denver. Took an hour and a half to get through their line, only for them to completely botch my test: they did not properly fasten my gas cap, in between the fuel pressure test and the diagnostic port test. They failed my car, handed me a code it threw, which was P1191: low fuel pressure at the rails. It was on the drive home when I realized they probably just didn't tighten my gas cap until it clicked, before running the code test. That triggers a code, and I feel like any competent mechanic should know that. I'm not a professional mechanic, and I know that. I was able to clear the code by simply closing the gas cap properly, driving a few minutes, then stopping and restarting the car. Now I have to go do their test all over again. Wait in line again. Completely obnoxious. Learn to do your job correctly, and stop wasting my time! Merely thinking about those bureaucrats growing fat off their ignorance boils my blood. read more

I arrived at 11:30am, no appointment needed, for an emissions test ($25) and VIN verification ($25). I feel the VIN verification is an odd thing that colorado implements, but ok. Facility was easy to locate, pull through to the gate, grab your ticket, pull through to the designated lane the associate tells you and you wait to pull into the bay. Ron, lane 4 (for the AWD's), was super friendly! Good conversation while I waited in line, which was about 30mins. They scan your VIN and check your gas caps and hook up some kind of hose to the gas intake (not sure what this was). Then while the car in front was being tested, I pulled into the bay and stepped out to wait in their little shipping container "waiting areas". I thought it was actually quite funny. You can watch the cars go through and get tested. Had a nice convo with a lawyer from my home state and then that was that. I was super nervous about coming here because of the reviews but I put that all out of my mind, told myself it was going to go well, brought a book just in case, and it turned out to be a pleasant, efficient experience. Total time = 1 hour. Honestly, this seems like a repetitive gig. Maybe try to start a convo with the workers or ask them how they're doing and I'm sure they'd appreciate it! Thanks Ron! read more

I pulled my truck into the bay where they analyze emissions. No one touched it for 25 mins, while dozens of other cars moved through the other bays. When I asked for a manager and inquired as to why it just sat there while other lanes were moving just fine, she said, "I don't know." So I guess it's the management that sucks. It's a shame they basically have a monopoly on emissions testing in the metro area. read more

I had pretty good success with this testing station today. The time waiting was accurate at around 15 min. The staff was friendly and worked quickly on my car. And I passed too! Yay best part of this process. It's $25 for the test for a normal car, and $20 for a VIN Verify, which you'll need for registration. They have three waiting rooms, and they only go to the one closest to your car to announce you're ready... so definitely go close to your car or just get out. Kind of confusing but I worked it out. They have different vending machines in each booth. read more

I was flagged down for my turn, so I pulled up, parked my car, and followed the rest of the attendants instructions: "turn off my car, make sure it was in park", etc. He asked me if I could hear him okay, and I said yes, and he proceeded to say, "You'll need that ticket for when you leave." So I picked up the ticket and put in on the dash, and he repeated himself, "You'll need that for when you leave." I grabbed the ticket, and then sat patiently in my car waiting for the test to start, and then he raised his voice and again repeated, "You'll get it back when you leave." And I was then immediately confused, because in Georgia, you sit in your car while you get your emissions done. And he kept repeating the command, just raising his voice louder and louder. I looked at him completely dazed and he screamed at me, "Don't speak english?!! Huh?!!" I said calmly, "I speak english just fine. But I don't understand what you're asking me to do." And he yelled back "Hey! Man! I can't work on your car if you're sitting in it." And then pointed me to their waiting area. The guys name was "RC"* (I asked another attendant for his name, since I didn't feel comfortable approaching him) and he's an asshole and a half. Pretty quick service. Best part is that before you enter, the outside sign of the place gives you an estimated wait time. It said ten minutes, but took a little longer but that's ok. I was confused about where to go but you follow the right driveway passing the building (on left). Enter through gate by pushing button to get ticket. Wait in queue but make sure you're in the correct line, by looking up at doors. If AWD or such there are two or three marked lanes for that otherwise you can go to the unmarked lanes. I had to get out of one lane and switch to another, but they didn't make me wait back in queue, just wait till the tech called me from one of the open lanes. Once you get in the guy has you get out of car (we bought a used car for the nanny so needed it to pass emissions test) and you go into this creepy ass tunnel of death waiting room. I mean it served its purpose, but I really was just waiting for a killer clown wielding a colourful knife or a "walker" to come eat me. Needless to say, we three did in fact survive the tunnel of death, but were talked to by some very nice but kinda creepy old men with "summer teeth" (sum-mer here,sum-mer there). The woman hollered out the make of our car and that's how they let you know you're done. I gave her the courtesy coupon that the dealer gave us for the emissions test and she took it no problem. Otherwise it's $25 cash only. Would totally recommend this place if needed, but not the kinda place you want to go for a fun adventure, unless you like to live on the edge of death by clowns or zombies. read more

Another visit and another demeaning experience. From pulling up to paying the bill employees teat customers like a number, are impatient and demanding and do now show any joy or kind personality. Operating at 50% capacity and causing such a long line of idling cars generating emissions is ironic. We pay enough other carbon taxes that the fee for emission measurement should be waved, just like it is for roadside tests. I have to go here because it's the closest place to get tested from where I live. Overall they are efficient. One year I went to get tested and one of the women that works there said something to me, I couldn't hear her because of the noise so I asked her to repeat what she said she then yelled at me "do you even speak English senor?!" The enthusiasm was noted but the racism was misplaced. I am not Hispanic and I have "Disabled Veteran" plates on my car... If I don't ever have to go to this place ever again, I won't. read more

This is my local Emissions Testing Center where I pay $25.00 to get a piece of paper saying my car has passed a doctors appointment LOL. Last time, they didn't do a full Emissions test because of Covid-19 procedures. Usually I expect at least an hour here during my visit, but no!! Totally less than 30 minutes. Worked fine for me, though based on others' reviews maybe I was just lucky. Got there right when they opened and there was already a pretty hefty line. Took about 10 minutes to get to the check in gate, where the attendant placed my service order on my windshield and directed me to a specified lane. Waited about 20 more minutes before it was my turn. Then took about 15 minutes for the test to be completed and 5 minutes to be called and to pay. Up until the end of August, I spent the past 4 years of my life commuting to Loveland (not the one in the mountains...the other one) five days a week. That's a staggering amount of time on the road, right? You'd think that I would be really good about taking care of my car, but instead I'm the type that waits until something is wrong (flashing, smoking, breaking, etc) before I take care of it. That said, my plates came up for renewal in August, and along with that came the required emissions test - the first I've had to get in my new(er) car. I kept putting it off and putting it off, just knowing in my gut that it would consume my whole day and I didn't want to mess with it. Well, two tickets later (apparently the police are spending a lot of time ticketing expired plates this year) I finally *had* to get it taken care of. I'm here to tell you that if you go at the right time of day, getting an emissions test is relatively painful - except that you have to fork out some cash. So, anyway, I was expecting to waste an entire morning at the emissions testing center, and felt my spirits sink as I drove up and saw on the automated sign that there was already a 45-minute wait. Uggggh. In actuality, it took no more than 30 minutes, from the time I got out of my car to paying my $25 for whatever it was they did. The process was pretty painless, but do yourself a favor and: 1. Get there early in the day, and avoid Saturdays 2. Bring cash or check, 'cause they don't accept plastic 3. Make sure you have your registration handy (I wasted 10 minutes rummaging around the glove box looking for mine) 4. Bring something to occupy yourself, or you'll end up watching a video about emissions about 100 times in a row 5. Don't be one of those people that rushes the door when you see them pull up your car. That doesn't mean it's ready! They will come get you when your car is actually good to go. That is all. read more
