I waited 1.5 hours for an oil change, and they didn't close the drain plug! I had friends visiting from out of town, and my car broke down while we were in the mountains. The services are fine and appropriately priced but my last visit was a nightmare. The associate charged me for the wrong persons service( I didn't review it because I trusted they were being honest and he didn't have me review it), called me incessantly regarding the situation they produced, when I finally answered they demanded I either give them my credit card info over the phone or come back to pay a new bill(never gave me the new price), arrived at the shop with a much more expensive bill, and for my inconvenience knocked off less than my original coupon for an oil change. They do fine work but that's a huge mistake I had to shoulder the responsibility for instead of them doing so. read more

I have a long road trip coming up and brought my car in to make sure everything is good to go. They were honest with me, checked all my fluids, topped off my oil, gave me the assurance I needed and didn't charge me a dime. The guy even said himself "I would be ripping you off if I charged you". He could've sold me on a lie and I would've believed him, but he didn't take advantage of me at all. This was my 3rd visit, I've never had an unpleasant experience with anyone here. Oil changes can be a bit pricey but that's just the nature of the beast, cars are expensive to maintain. Oil change in Dec 2023. They went through my glove box for some reason (pulled everything out and left it on the passenger seat), did not fill fluids and way over priced even with discounts. Very disappointing. Used them in the distant past without issues but definitely has declined. read more

Avoid this shop. I asked for an oil change only and nothing more. I had my manual transmission recently rebuilt by the dealership with a factory warranty but this shop took it upon themselves to do their snooping around to try and upsell me on other fluid changes. They recommended my newly rebuilt transmission be flushed and refilled. Also the fact that an oil change cost $100 for a Jeep Wrangler is pretty absurd. They bill you for all their "checks" that they try to upsell you on. Don't pay for them to look around your vehicle and risk them touching something they are not qualified to touch. Transfer case, transmission, etc. they are an oil change place, says it in their name. I went in for an oil change yesterday. One of the guys asked how my windshield wipers are, and I responded that they're just fine for now. However afterwards I noticed that my windshield wipers were leaving streaks across my whole windshield after my "oil change". It's funny how these guys will create a problem knowing that they have the solution. I would not go here if I were you; as they've shown me twice now that they are not trustworthy. read more

Update I would like to thank the store manager. He was very honest and treated me good. I took my car back today and he fixed the problem free of charge. In like 10 minutes the problem was solved. Mistakes happen but when the store has a good manager they fix your problem. And this store has a good and honest manager. ____________________________________________ Paid $118 for oil change and cabin air filter and I was ok with that but Changed oil last week and took my car to the dealer to change transmission fluid because it was sealed and guess what found out my car is leaking from the drain plug. Man I trusted you for 4 years and even sending my friends and thats what I get. The guy was recommending a power steering service! My car is electric steering and I was like wtff!! Before that I had an old Jeep after an oil change found out it was leaking from the oil filter so I just fixed it myself and I was like it is not a big deal. Advice for the owner or manager. Going to a different location, this one is awful!! First time I go, the owner/manager guy is incredibly rude and snappy with me acting like I'm the bad guy for bringing in my car. He reluctantly says they can do it (I have a 2016 Fiat 500x, it has a lot of the same build as a Jeep- nothing crazy) and I wait wayyy longer than 30 minutes. The owner guy who had an attitutde with me for no reason says "I'm sorry I was being rude you know I hurt my ankle and I've been on meds that make me this way" and I was appreciative he said that. I literally am a shy 20 year old girl who asked politely for an oil changed and he treated me like I was some freak. Anyways, I think that won't happen again right? Wrong, the dude is still an asshole the next time I come. It takes way longer than other Grease Monkey's ive been to and the employees are just clueless and rude. UPDATE: I spoke with the store manager and the GM about the mishap with my Jeep Oil Change. Everyone was concerned, apologetic, and took responsibility and repaid me for my repairs. From lengthy conversation with the owner, I believe this incident was a one-off that just happens from time to time from human error and this was just unluckily my turn in the barrel. Within 12 hours of me walking to the store with my receipt from JEEP for the engine cleaning, the staff had done a damage control session to figure out what had happened and how not to have that happen again. Honestly, crap happens, it is how you handle it! Based on my previous 18 year at this location, and the way the problem was handled, I award Grease Monkey 4 stars- they made it right and sought to insure this would not happen again to anyone! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Boooo! My oil change was performed inappropriately on my Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, requiring me to have my car towed, the engine cleaned and oil replaced at a significant cost. Approximately 2 quarts of oil was dumped into an empty cavity in my engine - they missed the neck, and then when the engine heated up on an off-road trek, oil started pouring out of my engine and under carriage. I had to have the car towed in to the dealership where they had to perform a cleaning and new oil change cost me over $300. I would pass at this Grease Monkey location as they obviously did not know what they were doing. I will be talking to the grease monkey manager and District manager to see if they refund from my money for their damages. They might be able to gain a star or two by customer service. read more

I am used to auto shops trying to up sale me but this place took it to a whole other level. They recommended me getting things done that weren't even relevant to my car. Not only that, but they didn't screw on the bottom "shield" of my car after removing it from the oil change (which is fine - mistakes happen), but they then made ME feel like I was such an inconvenience for coming back and asking them to fix it? Yikes -- new employee with bow on head was a nightmare. I'm following manufacturers recommendation on oil changes (every 6k miles, and had even brought the car in early) and when I walked in to pick up the car she screeched a lecture at me on how my newish car is about to die and the engine block is going to crack (really weird), so don't come back to them if I won't follow their 3k recommendation. I hadn't said anything to trigger this, just walked in, but she was so remarkably nasty and unpleasant. Almost yelling, with other customers present -- one of the other people sitting commented on it after she walked out and everyone seemed uncomfortable. I assume they're trying to get more business by telling people to do the 3k oil change, but this works the opposite. Been a regular customer but I'll take the car elsewhere now. My husband has been using Grease Monkey for a few years now, and yesterday we dropped his car off for an oil change. After a few hours without receiving a phone call to let us know the car was ready, he called to see what was taking so long. This was a little after 4:00. They told him the car was done so we headed over after 30 minutes or so to come pick it up. They were closed when we got there. My husband had to work the next day and now had no car. So we came in this morning when they opened at 8:00 to pick up the car. They told us that "it's up to you to check the hours". It's also basic customer service that when a customer calls to come get their car and you have just closed to let them know! It's not at all convenient to have you car locked in over night and you have to call in late to work the next day. Needless to say, we probably won't be returning. read more

Oil changes seem to have become more and more and more expensive...so naturally, it's best to just go somewhere with good and honest service. I decided to check Grease Monkey out, finally, after living in the area for almost 5 years. I'd always opted instead to go to Jiffy Lube for oil changes because of familiarity. But because of something (call it lethargy if you want) I decided I didn't want to go far for my new oil change and paid these guys a visit. I was greeted as soon as I stepped out of my car and let the gentleman know I was looking for an oil change. He got my info down and explained the variety of oil changes available, including stuff like hi-milage services. I told him I had to go cheap, so I opted for the basic service. He said no problem at all and took my keys-didn't spend 5 minutes explaining why I should spend more money, which I appreciated. Their waiting room isn't bad at all-coffee, donuts, cookies, water, magazines, TV. If you want, you walk around or do whatever else while they do the change, and they'll call you as soon as your car is ready. While I waited, their employees came in occasionally to explain to other waiting customers what they were doing and anything to note, and even offered some tips-one guy had a pool of oil on his driveway at home and someone gave him a quick tip to clear it up. When it was my turn to hear the run down, the mechanic came in and went over the services they were performing, and a few things to note (like my air filter). I told him I was looking just to get the oil change and again, he said no problem and didn't try to up-sell me. When it was ready, they went over all they did one more time and rang me up without trying to sell me stuff I didn't need or ask for. The whole experience was smooth and effortless, and the whole staff was genuine, nice, and honest. I always go to a different location, but decided to give this location a try since it is conveniently located in my neighborhood. There was a line of cars waiting so the manager asked me to pull aside to the front so the line did not compact. Well, they forgot about me and I waited about 20 minutes before I finally asked them when I'd be helped. They had taken about 2-3 new cars while I waited. They admitted they forgot about me (because I was taken out of the line of cars awaiting service). They offered me an apology and nothing more. Time wasted. It should also be noted that they told me they gave my car a top off on fluids which I found to be extremely odd because I had just looked under the hood about 5 minutes prior to pulling up to the garage and all the fluids were already full. Nothing particularly good or particularly bad about this place. It is quite expensive, at least compared to where I normally go in CA. After taxes and everything, the "cheapest" oil change cost me $40...I'm used to paying closer to $25. Of course, they came and gave the spiel about how I should do a million other things that would have ended up costing me over $100 - I passed on all of that (cabin air filter, regular air filter, some engine flushing thing that you're supposed to do every 15k miles). I asked them not to put any windshield washer fluid in my car because the reservoir is cracked, so it just leaks everywhere - but they did it anyway. I asked them to check the pressure on my tires (which they are supposed to do anyway, but I wanted to make sure it got done), and they did do that. They accidentally put an extra $35 on my bill for changing the cabin air filter, which they didn't even do, but when I told them it was no big deal for them to take it off. Just make sure you know what you are getting charged for. Oil change took about 40 minutes, they said it would take 20. read more
