I've been coming here for many years, bringing all 3 of our vehicles to get oil changes. It used to…read morebe good. Now it's overpriced and the people who work here are not honest. I'll never take my vehicle back to a shop/mechanic who isn't honest. Wife took the 4Runner in recently to get an oil change, after sitting in the bay for over 10 minutes with no work being done, they gave her some excuse about having problems with the skid plate and that theres not being enough screws to mount it. She calls me and I talk to the guy and tell him, "Well you guys did the last oil change so if the screws are missing it's on you". He blames it on employees who don't work there anymore but ensures me there's still 3 of the 5 left so I tell him to mount it. She gets back after home after 45 mins at the place, what happened to 10 minute oil changes? I go out and check the skid plate only to see it's barely hanging on with 1 screw. Check the oil and it's half a quart low. So for an almost $100 oil change, they shorted me on oil half a quart and lose the mounting screws for the skid plate and not once did they offer to fix it. No discount on the oil, no offering to order new screws, nothing, they just BS'd their way through it to get the sale. Ended up having to go to the dealership and order new mounting screws for the skid plate which cost $20 and had to buy a quart of oil to top it off so in all, this oil change cost $135 and some change. After almost 10 years of getting my oil changed at this place I'll be going somewhere else from now on.

I was not told that there would be a Diagnostic Fee which ended up being $75.48, Paul, the service representative whom I spoke with told me my vehicle needed over $1500 worth of work and when I mentioned that this amount was more that the vehicle was worth he was rude and told me to "either fix the car or replace it" and the quote I received was higher than other shops for the same service. What I don't get is why I was not told about the Diagnostic Fee and got stuck paying it to retrieve my vehicle, why the Shop Teacher thought Checkpoint was so great and why Paul didn't just break down the amount for the brakes but instead tried to upsell me for all this additional work! I feel I got seriously scr****!!!

Everyone was friendly, the process was smooth and prices competitive with other drop in oil change garages. However, when I got my car back I was told the inspection was good. Then I noticed they gave me a sticker that added 20,000 miles to my odometer and they report that to carfax....they changed it in their computer but not on the carfax report. Which means if I want to sell my car, someone might think I adjusted the odometer. Then at home once I parked overnight I noticed a huge oil puddle under my car. It appears they may have damaged an oil ring or did not properly cap the oil and it was leaking out. I took it back and they were very nice about fixing it. But I shouldn't have had to go back twice for these issues.
