What made the experience particularly notable is that we had been service members with Radiant for the past four years. When we called them, the earliest prioritized appointment they could offer us was two weeks away, despite having no working AC in 100 degree weather. That experience prompted us to call Service Wizard instead, and I am very glad we did. Jeremiah was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and thorough. He took the time to explain what he was checking and what he found, without trying to sell us repairs or services we did not need. He also discovered that during a previous service visit, Radiant had installed the condensation shutoff on the secondary drain line rather than the primary line, where it should have been installed. I really appreciated Jeremiah catching and explaining that issue. Between the emergency availability, Jeremiah's knowledge and professionalism, and the overall experience, I was impressed enough to sign up for Service Wizard's membership before he left. After four years with another company's service plan, that says quite a bit. I feel much more confident knowing we have Service Wizard to call going forward. Highly recommend Jeremiah and Service Wizard!

**1/5 Stars - Big Waste of Time (and almost a lot of money)**…read moreI wanted to like Service Wizard, but my experience with them was incredibly frustrating. My AC condensation pipe was completely backed up and needed to be flushed. Their tech arrived on time and seemed very professional, spending about an hour and a half working on the unit and inspecting everything inside and out. However, he couldn't find where the evaporator line exited the house. His solution? Install an external pump and run a whole new drain line. The rough estimate for that was, well, a hell of a lot more than the $15 fee they charged me just to come out and take a look. When he left, I still had the exact same broken AC, was stressing over an exorbitant bill to fix it, and somehow found out I'd been signed up for a $15-a-month service plan that entitled me to another check-up in six months just in time for winter. Hoping to just get it resolved, I reached out to Service Wizard via Yelp later that evening to see if they could come back today to do the work the tech recommended. I never got a response. Frustrated, I called a different AC company. They actually answered the phone, sent technicians out right on time today, and those guys spent **five minutes** at my house before finding the external line, repairing it, and flushing my system. Problem completely solved in under five minutes, and the fee was incredibly cheap compared to the massive quote I got from Service Wizard. I will definitely be canceling my $15-a-month contract with Service Wizard and won't be recommending them going forward. Save yourself the headache and call someone else!

It happened at 4:30 on a Friday in July and with all the 100+ temps that week, the three other companies I called in a panic were too busy to come out. A local friend of mine said she'd had two years of good service from Airco, so I tried them next and they got us some help in just a few hours. Ernie the technician was AMAZING, friendly and professional and a relief to work with. Later on during the water damage mitigation process with TX Dry Out & Restoration, we ended up needing to replace the old out-of-code HVAC, and had a great experience with Airco. Brandon was extremely helpful and happy to coordinate with TX Dry Out to get our new unit installed on schedule amid all the restoration work. Both Ernie and Brandon went above and beyond for us during a very stressful time, and I'm so grateful! Thank you, Airco!

Several years ago, Airco installed a 3-ton variable-speed system in a house that had previously had a 2-ton unit (and a history of trouble keeping cool). After about a year of operation, our tenants reported mold in the ducts, high humidity, and a short-cycling unit. Our investigation found that the installer, Stuart, had never pulled a permit for the work. I want to be candid: it took a negative Yelp review to get Airco's attention. Jeremy reached out, recommended we upsize the ductwork, offered a very fair price, and agreed to close out the permits. I'm slow to trust, so I got second and third opinions from other HVAC companies -- they confirmed the system size was correct for the house, and that the ductwork should have been upsized at the original install. My own Manual J calculations agreed with Jeremy's. Notably, Jeremy was the only installer I could find who was actually willing to run a Manual J. He also followed through on pulling permits and getting the city inspection scheduled. Airco worked to schedule the new duct installation during the one week we'd be in town -- during peak season, no less -- and their crew moved fast and stayed professional, which I appreciated given how brutal a Texas attic is this time of year. A few days in, the system is no longer short-cycling, and indoor humidity has dropped to about 63%. Still a touch higher than ideal, but we think we can chase the rest of it down -- possibly window seals, possibly fan settings or duct leakage. I was impressed enough that I also used Airco for a plumbing call this week.

I had to have warranty work and the cost of labor and freon was almost $2,000. I asked for a itemized statement several times to see what I was being charged for as the job took less than 2 hours, but they have refused to respond after initially saying they would provide it. They are very quick to respond and get you on the schedule, but I believe the way overcharge you when providing warranty work to cover the parts that are covered under the warranty. I'd also like to say that I don't believe it is right to charge me for freon when the reason I needed freon was because of a part that was covered under warranty. If system leaks freon due to a defective part it seems that should also be covered under warranty. As far as I am concerned, their warranty is not worth the paper it is written on unless you feel like paying 40% of the original cost of your unit to cover a part that is under warranty.

The technician returned the next day and, instead of standing by the original repair, blamed the attic's humidity and tried to squeeze another $300 out of me. After charging me nearly $600 the day before, they wanted even more money for a problem they clearly failed to fix the first time. Eventually, the technician repaired it again at no charge. Unfortunately, that "repair" was just as worthless as the first one. I also requested an itemized receipt so I could submit the repair for warranty reimbursement. They never sent it. No follow-up. No professionalism. No accountability. Now, only one week later, my AC is out AGAIN. So, to recap: * Nearly $600 spent. * AC failed within 30 minutes. * Attempted upsell for another $300. * Failed to provide the requested documentation. * AC failed again a week later. This company took my money, failed to properly diagnose or repair the issue, tried to charge me more when their repair didn't work, and then disappeared when I needed paperwork. If you enjoy wasting money, sweating, and dealing with excuses instead of solutions, then Honest Air Conditioning is the company for you. In August, 2026, with the temperatures in the 100s, my Carrier had a coolant leak that made the unit unusable. AAA sent out Sonny to evaluate the problem. Sonny deserves every cent they pay him for both expertise and customer service. On that Thursday we were told that it would be the following Tuesday before they could get a coil and crew together. While we were debating what to do, Sonny told us that the office people had found a crew and coil and that they could do the work the next day, Friday. Jason, the company owner, had apparently become involved and had also come up with a temporary fix for the AC that would allow us to stay overnight at our house with the AC working. The repair crew headed by Eliezer arrived right on time on Friday, and they were done by noon. Again, I was greatly impressed by the AAA team. Sometimes things work out. Sometimes the right vendor makes the extra effort to insure that things work out. I am sure that there are many good AC vendors around. However, for my money, Alamo Austin is at the top of the list. tb

I basically knew what the issue was, (a bad capacitor), but they did their due diligence and checked both the indoor and outdoor unit anyway to make sure nothing else was going on. They were able to swap out the capacitor and were in and out of the visit in less than an hour. The only negative I'd cite is the price. Every business needs to make money which is great, but I found their pricing to be higher than most, so keep that in mind as you are looking at options. The capacitor I had changed was ~80$ part and they charged $500 to swap it, so essentially 400/hour for labor. I also had them quote me replacement for a $200 fan and they quoted $950, so you get the idea. If you are looking for someone competent who can do the job right I think Alamo is solid. If you are more cost conscious and don't mind shopping around you can get things done a lot more reasonably IMO.
