We saw the billboard on 316 for Snellville Heating and Air and decided to give it a go. Joe came by about thirty minutes after the initial phone call, and you could tell right away this was a man who knew what he was doing. He checked everything out and then, the first company to do so, sat down with us to go over everything in detail. He quoted us the best price we'd received and didn't once try to upsell us. He showed us all the certifications that their workers have which put our mind at ease. A week later (and only that long because we weren't home the other days) we had an entirely new HVAC system installed by two hardworking guys. I will say the monthly financing price we got was not ideal for us. I'm not naive, but the whole reason we called in the first place was the monthly financing offer of $50 on the billboard. So that was a bit disappointing, but the overall cost was the lowest quote we'd received so we went with it. Plus, we have ten year warranty on the new system, and a year's servicing. Not to mention the security of knowing we have an honest company working this for us. We really appreciated the service we received after almost two months of a broken HVAC system and companies trying to scam us. I recommend Snellville Heating and Air to anyone looking.

This company was recently bought by Air Georgia. We have two separate systems, one which provides…read moreair conditioning/heat in the main area of the house which is a gas furnace/air conditioner and a heat pump which provides air conditioning/heat to the top floor and a room adjacent to the house. One week in August, the two rooms controlled by the heat pump, began to read in the high 80's. We notified Snellville Heating, Air & Plumbing as we had a maintenance contract with them. They responded promptly and told us something may have been jarred in the air handler zone control board. They only charged us the service fee of $79.95. When they were here the rooms became cooler, however, within hours the rooms returned to temperatures in the mid-eighties and we had to have them back that same day. They then told us refrigerant was needed and they added 1 1/2 pounds of refrigerant for a cost of $150. The next day the temperature in these two rooms again returned to the mid-eighties. Snellville Heating, Air and Plumbing returned that day and said they replaced an electric shut-off switch in the condenser and there was no charge. We thought the problem was fixed but the temperature rose to the mid-eighties the next day. Snellville Heating, Air and Plumbing returned that same day and then said the Condenser Computer Board was malfunctioning and needed to be replaced at a cost of $495. The part was unavailable until the next day at which time they replaced the Board. However, within 2 days, the temperatures again rose to the mid-eighties. A fifth visit was made and this technician told us the problem was a leaky heat pump in the condenser coil and said this needed to be replaced with just a part or a new system was recommended since our current system was ten years old. They quoted at a cost of over $13,000 for a new system. At this time they gave us complimentary refrigerant to keep the room cool while we made a final decision to replace the part or the whole system. We lost all confidence in Snellville's competence in diagnosing our HVAC issues as it took 5 TECHNICIANS coming out multiple days in a row before the correct assessment of the problem was made. We asked management for a cancellation and reimbursement for our second maintenance visit, which the did. However, they refused to reimburse us for the $495 fee for the Condenser Computer Board stating we approved the work to be done. REALLY!!! My response was that as 70+ year olds we TRUSTED the technician that was the issue but in reality we had a LEAK, only identified on the 5TH VISIT and we were due a reimbursement which they REPEATEDLY DENIED. We are not HVAC knowledgeable but in retrospect, shouldn't the need for refrigerant added on the second visit be a "sign" there might have been a leak? They said they were offering a 10% discount on a new system and an upgrade to a higher grade system at no additional charge and that was their compensation. My response was we had lost ALL CONFIDENCE with them and would NOT be using them for a new system. If it took 5 VISITS BEFORE the proper diagnosis was made how could we TRUST them to properly install a new system and maintain it. Additionally, that $495 Condenser Board was of no use to us since we bought a new system from another HVAC company who did CONFIRM on their initial visit there was a leak. This has been a most regrettable situation which has caused us much angst as senior citizens. As a side note, we were told the owner was aware of our dilemma but he never personally called us which we expected given our level of concern.

Once doing so, you'll understand the pattern of deceit Steve employs. To replace my main water line and fix a drainage issue in the backyard, Steve gave us an estimate of $4,100. I'm a first-time homeowner of a few months, and I was too trusting & naïve to ask for a written quote. Steve began his con by charging me $1,500 instead of the stated $150 to assess plumbing issues at the house (Steve's response will be that this is a clerical error on his part.) At the completion of the job, the price increased from $4,100 to $10,000. His reasoning for charging us over 100% of the original price: "rock excavation" and "irrigation repair". I employed a licensed, Master Plumber to estimate the cost and specifics of this job. His estimate was $3,400. When I asked the 3rd party plumber about the cost of unforeseen subterranean rock, he quipped that our house "isn't on Stone Mountain", and that amounts of subterranean granite, as well as irrigation lines, should not increase the original estimate because it is a reasonable and obvious part of the plumbing business. Steve advertises himself as a "Licensed and Independent Plumbing & Heating Contractor". I spoke to the Secretary of State's office and they could not find his license. Furthermore, when asked to provide his license ID number... Steve refused. (Steve recently deleted this claim from his website; however I have a dated screenshot of the previous claim should anyone care to see.) On my invoice, Steve asserted that "parts" for the project cost $4,000 (roughly the price of his original estimate). The 3rd party plumber assured us that the parts for this job couldn't have cost any more than $400. After all the work was done, our irrigation system didn't work. The irrigation service we employed deduced that Steve's sub-contractors had not fixed the irrigation system that Steve charged us over $2,800 to fix. Furthermore, Steve refused to pay the $550 for the irrigation errors that his team caused. At the end of the day, it was my fault to trust Steve Malone. I signed the invoice and payed him... unaware that I was being taken advantage of, and that this plumbing job should have cost a fraction of what we were charged. My goal in writing this review is to make sure that no one else makes the mistake of trusting this man.

After having an unfortunate experience with Keep Smiling PEHC during my most recent service, I had some misgivings about the company and whether I would return as a customer. In regards to their customer service, everyone that I've engaged with (technicians, onsite supervisor, receptionist) has always been professional and courteous which goes a long way with me. The issue that I had was technical in nature and left me with some dissatisfaction regarding the quality of work. After speaking with leadership of this organization, I believe that they hold the highest standards and expectations for their employees and ensure that any work-related issues are duly resolved. I can sincerely say that they have regained my confidence and trust in contacting them in the future for my future HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing home needs.

I had a water line burst during the recent storm. I shut the water off and located the line break in my garage. I removed the drywall to expose the pipe and cut it above the break. I would have capped it myself but I had to leave town for work, so I had a friend meet the tech so that he could simply cap the line off and I would address replacing the line at a later time. The tech called and told me their book price was $615 for external line repair, but this was internal PVC pipe and not really a repair, so he would call his manager and get a more appropriate price. Unfortunately, he proceeded to do the work without clearing the new price with me, which was still $515. I called around and checked with two other plumbing companies on their rates for the same work of capping a line and they quoted ~$200. I called Keep Smiling and was able to get an additional $100 off the rate, but it was still quite high. I paid over $400 for someone to cap a line that was already exposed. The tech was at my house for 40 minutes and spent less than 15 minutes capping the pipe. He was very friendly, as was Amy at the call center (why I gave two stars instead of one), but this just wasn't handled appropriately. I don't appreciate getting gouged. I still need to have the line repaired, but they lost out on that work and any future work.
