    Starting the party!

We had the best experience with Alain & the Airballing company. We booked the mobile Nerf party! They made my son's birthday incredibly special and handled every detail so well. From the music and chalk to the inflatables and organized games, everything was set up to make the day fun, exciting, and stress-free. They were fantastic with the kids -- keeping them engaged, in line, and having an absolute blast the entire time. It is not easy to manage a big group of excited kids, and they did it perfectly. The party was so much fun and created such a great memory for my son. I would absolutely book them again!

We had a Nerf party with Jonny yesterday and it went great! We had booked an outdoor location for our kid's birthday party but it rained. We had to change the location last minute to a smaller indoor venue. AirballingLA was able to accommodate the change with no issues. Jonny was an awesome coordinator who kept the kids entertained the entire time with different games. The birthday boy said Jonny is really nice and made it a really fun bday. All the kids had a blast!

AirballingLA is by far the BEST birthday experience any kid could hope for!! We are repeat customers our son loves them so much, he requested that we get them again for his 8th birthday party! It went flawlessly and as a parent who gets full on anxiety over hosting events, let me assure you, AirballlingLA does everything. All you have to do is show up and they handle the rest!! I knew that once the food was set out and the guests arrived I could take photos and enjoy myself!! A special shout out to our phenomenal Event Coordinators, Johnny and Kevin. These guys went above and beyond to make my son's birthday a truly memorable occasion!!

    The battle has begun...

Thank you so much Ramon!!! You are amazing, kind, sweet, patient and ready to give provide the kiddos lots of fun activities during the 2 hours of the Nerf battle. Booking the Nerf party was super easy. Ramon contacted a few days before to let me know what to expect and if I had any questions. Everything was provided. My little one had an amazing 6th bday party. Don't hesitate to contact this company if you want your child to have a wonderful and memorable time.

I was fortunate enough to book a class, since they still had openings. In order to book, you are required to pay $5 per person, and each person shooting needs a reservation. For the first time archer classes you need to arrive 15 minutes to sign in, get placed with a group/instructor, get the gear (they measure your arms, for the bow and arrows) the first-time archer classes are 8 AM and the returning is at 10 AM. Our instructor was very informative and helpful throughout the class. We also benefit from having a trainee in class where he was shadowing the main instructor. He was helpful with assisting and correcting our form. I was in a group with 9 other people. Each group was led by an instructor and taken to their own shooting area to learn the etiquette, rules, and how to shoot properly. He provides demonstrations and tips for correct shooting. After each demonstration, instructor invited the group to the line to practice shooting. Instructions were very clear and helpful. At the end, they provide balloons as targets to shoot. If you were able to pop the balloon, you get a cool pin. After the class was done, the instructor gave us a card to show proof that we've taken the first class, and we can sign up for the returning class if we decide to. Parking is limited. There is a small parking lot and it gets filled quickly. Come early or park on the street and walk down the hill.

There are also more of a long range targets if you are into that. The range is very well maintained, never too crowded, and the whole experience is just unmatched. I have been to several archery ranges and this is absolutely in its own league. Per City of Pasadena regulations you need to be certified to practice at the range, which entails about an hour long class and a small fee. Just keep in mind that it will take about a month to get your cert sent to you, so do it in advance. Absolutely worth it. Any interactions I have had with the staff and members of the club have been great. They also have classes, competitions, events, etc. Once a month (I believe 3rd Sunday of every month) they put up 3D targets, which are a lot of fun. Honestly, this place is a gem. P.S. It is also the oldest continuously operating field archery range in the world.

Every time I'm in town, I carve out space for a lesson here. They don't just hand you a bow and send you to the range. They break it down--stance, breath, grip--without condescension or ego. From absolute zero, they had me loosing arrows with something resembling grace, and over time, they've built me into a halfway decent archer. That's not just instruction; that's craft. The gear side is no less impressive. Advice here isn't about upselling--it's about finding the bow, the arrows, the finger tabs that actually suit you. The staff talks from the heart, from decades of pulling strings and hitting targets, not from a sales script. And the vibe? Generous, patient, and real. You're not judged for being a beginner. You're not rushed. You're simply folded into the ritual of a practice older than most religions. For someone like me, who arrives a tourist and leaves a little bit better than before--that's gold. Robertson Archery isn't just a shop or a range. It's a reminder that in a city built on surface, you can still find depth. Come here. String a bow. Let the arrow fly.

Paul is extremely patient and encouraging and is focused on teaching proper form and developing good habits, while making sure my son enjoys the sport and is meeting his personal goals. My son has improved dramatically, not only by gaining more technical skills, but also by gaining confidence in his abilities. South Bay Archery was also extremely generous and accommodating over the holidays, as our family was searching for a fun activity to do on New Year's eve with some friends. We booked a private party with Coach Paul and Coach Lani and everyone had a wonderful time! They made sure all 9 participants learned proper safety protocols, and taught our group how to shoot since some of us had no prior experience. They kept a good pace, explaining the challenges of shooting from further distances, and made things extra fun by creating a competition at the end, with the winner getting a prize! After that we relaxed and ate in the party room upstairs, which overlooked the shooting area. We all had a GREAT TIME! I encourage anyone looking for a fun group activity to check out South Bay Archery Lessons! There are multiple ranges, depending on what you want to shoot, a restaurant with quality food, a small bar (they do not allow you to shoot after drinking, but the reverse is fine), a gun shop with a very good selection and knowledgeable staff, and several events throughout the year. What really makes this place great is the staff at the ranges. If they see someone doing something unsafe, they call it out and put a stop to it immediately, which is what you want at a gun range. But more than that, they're friendly and more than willing to help you with tips on shooting or with any weapon malfunction--very important for new shooters. Guys like Savage and Jimmy really help make the rifle range an enjoyable experience. As far as the different ranges, there is a long row of shotgun clay/skeet shooting at the front when you pull in. That's also where you find the restaurant and some clean bathrooms. There is also a small shop with clothing, accessories, and some very high-end shotguns. This is where you check in for the shotgun range. To head to the archery range, park there and make a left past the main building and up a hill. I haven't been to the archery range yet, so I can't comment on it. For the rifle range, continue to the left past the ramp for the archery range. It's a bit of a walk, especially if you're carrying a bunch of weapons and ammo. It's paved, and I believe they have golf carts available to help transport you if you're disabled or just need the help. There is a small shop where you check in, with accessories, ammo, and targets available for purchase, as well as various rifles available for rent. At the rifle range, you can shoot most calibers of rifle, shotgun, or handgun (but no hollow points), so it's fun for all. You can set up cardboard target stands or use the steel targets spread throughout the range. I'm not sure how far back it goes--probably about 75-100 yards. I've heard a rumor that if you bring in a watermelon or pumpkin, you can shoot it, but I haven't checked the validity of that yet. The only negative about the rifle range is that the only bathrooms there are porta potty's. For the pistol range and gun shop, when you pull into the parking lot, instead head to the right, where there is an additional smaller parking lot. There are some nicer bathrooms out front. Inside is the pro shop/gun shop, where the guys (I think their names are Frankie and Rick) are very helpful. If you want to try any of the handguns before purchasing, they have them for rent as well. There is a paper range and a steel range. I believe that, aside from handguns, you can also shoot small handgun-caliber rifles there. At the paper range you can shoot hollow points (at least that was allowed last time I was there), but not at the steel range. There are about 10-12 stalls on each range. I don't think either range extends past 75 yards. For the paper range, you can purchase targets at the shop or bring your own to put on cardboard stands. One of the guys there is extremely helpful if you need tips or have any questions. I believe his name is Page-hope I got that right. On the steel side, they have a plethora of steel targets set at different distances. The nice thing about the steel range is that you never have to stop and wait while people change out their targets. There are also an additional two speed plate lanes at the end that are first come, first served. Again, the employees do a good job of keeping an eye on everyone and maintaining a safe environment. Don't forget to bring ear and eye protection. But if you need it, they have both available. I don't think they currently charge you to borrow either. They also have memberships available, with massive discounts on the membership a couple of times a year during events. One tip - if it's your first time, make sure you fill out the waivers online before you go. It will save you time when you get there. There is a main waiver everyone signs, plus additional waivers for each range you plan on using (ie shotgun, rifle, archery, pistol, etc.). I highly recommend Oak Tree to anyone looking to try shooting for the first time, anyone looking to purchase a firearm and try it out first, and experienced shooters looking for a good, safe, convenient place to shoot.

They have a great selection of rentals if you so happen to need it or want to try stuff out, pricing is available on their website. This visit I enjoyed their steel pistol range, they have an option to shoot paper as well on a separate part of the pistol range. The bays are nice and wide, lots of space to comfortably shoot on the steel range. Reasonable pricing and the location is a nice and quiet woodsy forest vibe. There is parking in front of the club/restaurant/shotgun range (Rifle is to the left), as well as if you hit a right, there was a bit of parking in front of the pistol ranges and gun store. This place is a must try for any hobbyist, recreational or professional shooter.
