As for our HVAC we have had considerable work done on it over the past year, and at every step Airstream was honest, professional, and transparent with their pricing while respecting our budget and time. After the 2026 winter storm, we found that the system had been taxed significantly and Airstream has worked with us over the past few months to get it back into tip-top shape for the summer heat. Each time the work has been done efficiently and with minimal interference in our daily activities and minimal stress on our our pets. We called Allen's Air Care (AAC) to look at our HVAC unit. We are selling our house and wanted to…read moremake sure it would pass any inspections. AAC came out and inspected the unit 3 weeks ago. We were charged $125 and were told that everything looked good. We accepted an offer on our house and passed inspection, though they only checked to see if the HVAC was working and did not send a specialist. It is now Thursday and the unit has completely stopped working. We close in 5 days, with the final walk through in 4. I called AAC about 30 minutes before they closed and explained the situation, including the clean bill of health they had given me three weeks prior. The lady who answered was nice, but said they couldn't send anyone out today. If I want, she told me, they could send someone out tomorrow, and it will be $65 plus whatever parts are needed. No mention was made about the apparently incorrect inspection we paid for. When I agreed to have them come out, I was told that they would be by "sometime tomorrow". I understand that AAC can't catch everything; no one could. But to me, a company is defined by how they handle situations like mine. The fact is they gave me a green light on my HVAC unit and charged me for it ($40 more then others I called after the fact). To make no mention of this - not even acknowledge it - is unacceptable. What exactly did I pay for? Don't you stand behind your work at all? Then, knowing my time-sensitive situation - not to mention how HOT it is today - the best you can give me is your standard price and an 8 hour window for when you'll show up? I ended up canceling my appointment and going with Parker's Heating and Cooling, who were far more helpful, talking me through some things (after hours on their own time) to look at in case I could fix it myself. At no charge. We couldn't figure it out, but you can bet I scheduled them to come, and they'll be here first thing in the morning. That's the kind of customer service that will have me calling Parker's for the rest of my life. If you're looking for the same, do yourself a favor and steer clear of Allen's Air Care.

I don't even know where to start. My HVAC is only 3 years old and hasn't given us any problem. I…read morecalled Solace to schedule a tune-up. Nothing fancy; just clean and check the unit for the summer. That's when they came to my house and told me that my unit had over five problems, including leaking refrigerant, bad capacitors, electrical work, etc. Funny enough, their first quote was for 8k, which was to "fix these terrible problems." However, they gave me another crazier solution, to get a brand new unit, which was only 2 tons for a small house for 11k. Kid, you not. I went and got a second opinion, and as I suspected, my HVAC connections weren't the prettiest, but had no problems. The other HVAC professional also found out that they only cleaned a portion of the unit, so he installed a new disconnect, re-did my drain line, sealed my flashing, and rewashed my unit for $600 bucks. Do it at your own risk. I have never seen something like this, not even when I used to live in NY they tried to upcharge me like that.
