We have used A/C Plus since we purchased our home in 2015. We have always had excellent,…read moreconsistent, and courteous technicians, and excellent service from management. This year things have changed.
We had our winter maintenance in November, and suddenly in January the unit stopped working in the middle of the coldest time in TN. A technician, Michael Bell, came to the house and got everything up and running that day. Sadly, we had to have two parts replaced. One had just been replaced about two years before. Within the first hour after he left, the unit quit again. That is when the problem really began!
Before we could call to send a technician out again, I received a text from a gentleman named Brad Bonderer, stating he was the owner, and asked that we give an excellent review for his company. I called his number, and when I spoke to him, I stated that the unit had already quit working, and I would give a review when we had that work completed. He said I hadn't paid the bill, and they would send someone to fix the problem. His attitude was not anything I had experienced before with the company, and I asked if the company had changed hands or been sold. He said everything was still the same. I knew that was not true, as I had worked directly with the owner before, and he was NOT that person. I also asked about my 10- year warranty, that I knew was in effect to cover the parts, and he said it had expired in November. The conversation was pretty heated, and I asked to have the repair as soon as possible as it was 9 degrees outside and 55 inside!
I left messages with answering service, as they had closed for the day. Next morning, I called, and they said they would try to "fit me in". Michael came again, and said there was a loose wire, and he took responsibility for the problem. Service restored! I called the office and made inquiry about my warranty, and found it to still be in effect until October 2025. I asked that the bill be revised to show the parts covered. I also asked about the company change, and was told that it had been sold to The Fountain Comfort Group, and they were the new "owner". I said I had not received a corrected bill and was told that Mr. Bonderer was the person that had to do that. A week later, called again. Still no correction. Last call, someone took it to him directly, and he sent an incorrect, corrected bill. Did not put in proper warranty discount, but an adjustment that was easies for him apparently. We have still not resolved the bill, and I have asked repeatedly of him to fix it so that I could pay my bill.
Last note: the office staff were extremely helpful in trying to help get all of this mess resolved, despite having to take multiple calls from me. They had great attitudes, and did everything they could to help. The technician, Michael was also very helpful and honest about what had happened.
I don't know anything that has changed, except the current difficulty with Mr. Bonderer and my bill which is still unresolved, and waiting to be paid (gladly)!
