The first visit didn't clear the clog, but the next day another technician came out and patiently explained everything. Both were courteous, on time, and really knew their stuff. And while Yelp loves photos, trust me -- nobody wants to see what was blocking my drain. That's a whole different genre. Bottom line: Boothe's brings personality and professionalism to plumbing. I have had terrible service from Southern Maryland Heating and Air, and had to fix nearly everything they touched, but Winters technicians are sharp and they do great work. I figured it was under warranty so why not and the technician said I would "get my money back, well most of it". RED FLAG - I should have asked for an explanation. So my card was charged for $590. The office just called and said they credited back to my card $343! and they pocketed $247!! (for "shipping and labor"). So be wary and very careful if you have hired them, but if you are not locked into a Maintenance Agreement I suggest you call another HVAC company.

In December 2017, my heat was not working in my home in Bethany Beach, DE. After 5 hours of…read morewaiting (more than the "Always on time, or you don't pay a dime" guarantee) for a tech to come for a scheduled appointment, the tech arrived. The tech advised that the heat was not working because the breaker was tripped. He turned the breaker back on and advised that the system was working fine. Relying on the expertise of the tech who told me the system was fixed, I set the thermostat to 55 degrees, turned the water off on the main level and left the beach. Just a few weeks later, a neighbor called to tell us that water was gushing out of the house. A contractor that we use on a regular basis went to the house and advised that the heat was not working. The two toilets on the first floor had water frozen in each bowl. The water in the main dwelling of the house was turned off, but the water from the downstairs entrance to the mail level is where a pipe burst causing extensive damage. In addition to the pipes that burst downstairs, there was plumbing damage under both toilets on the first floor as well as several other pipes burst on the first and second floors. I had a different HVAC company come out on January 9th and, after very little investigation, they advised that the heat was off because of a tripped breaker due to a faulty wire in the breaker. They replaced the breaker to repair the problem. Had the Ben Franklin/One Hour Tech properly investigated and repaired the problem initially, the extensive damage to our home would not have happened. After over $7,000.00 in damages, we hoped that Ben Franklin/One Hour would stand behind their "100% Satisfaction Guarantee" as outlined on their website. We asked that they reimburse us for our insurance deductible due to the oversight of their Tech, which directly led to the damage to our home. They refused to reimburse us any amount and did not stand behind their 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. The owner, was extremely rude and very dismissive. Needless to say, we had a horrible experience with Ben Franklin#248/One Hour #071 and I would NOT recommend them for any HVAC needs.

I saw the great reviews for Perdue and decided to call them for a second opinion. As we expected, are system was working great. Eric was very good. I was excited to have found our new Heating and Air Company and wanted to sign a service contract. They had a new software system, so they couldn't send it out yet. Over the next few months, I called and texted Eric's cell and the company line where I spoke to an operator. They either didn't respond or put me off. This happened 5 or 6 times. Sadly, I can't trust a company that won't return calls or send out a service contract. Back to looking for a new company. Too bad, because I liked their work.
