After 30 minutes it was decided that the compressor was not running and a hard start kit was installed. AC up and running. It was also decided that there was too much R22 (over charged) and Cody took care of that and had the system back on line blowing cold air again. Once again he explained it all as he went along and answered all my questions. I signed a yearly maintenance contract to have Airheads maintain for me. Just awesome quick service with a great tech. Arranged a same day appointment and let them know when I booked I had a work conflict and would have someone at the home to meet the technician. The scheduler failed to tell me that the technician would not go to the house unless they made contact ahead. Needless to say, the technician called ahead of arrival and since I could not take the call, they skipped our service call, which forced us to spend the night in 85 degree interior temp. I called in the evening asking why the tech did not arrive as planned and did not even get a response until 12pm the next day. By then, I had found a much more reputable service company and my issue was fixed. Encourage you to think twice before using this company. These guys were awesome, they did an excellent job working on our Air Conditioner, reliable, polite, professional and very knowledgeable of their work. I can't say enough about Mr. Andrew Jones and his co-worker (forgive me as I cannot remember his first name) I finally have found "trust" in an awesome company as I had used another local company here in Copperas Cove and they were completely unreliable and untruthful. This former company had us sign a contract and they were suppose to come back and follow up and never did and you could never get a hold of them. After missed phone calls emails and etc. , I got Airheads HVAC here. The tech was Kevin the service manager. He arrived late. A $159 service call developed into a $500+ service call. Supposedly there is a one year warranty. My AC is sitting at 85 degrees while it is set at 72. It is not functioning after the "repair". I am waiting to see what they will do. read more

Well, the guy came out and called me while he was there and said it was too hot and wouldn't be able to do duct work until the fall. This was last week. Wish they would have told me that, so I called and complained that they wasted my time. The office called back and said he would come back out and give me an estimate. Do not use these people. They came out serviced my ac because it wasn't cooling efficiently as we thought it should. Long story short he came in and said it was short free-on. I said ok good deal let's get it serviced. He came back in to say when he put free-on in it, it over pressurized and would explode if I turned it on. He said I need an entire new system. He sent his sales man out here to sale me and entire now system for about $10,000. I said no thank you I would like to get a second opinion on it. I called a second for another opinion. It was a much better experience. Personable and reasonable. They said it was not overpressurized and actually I would need a little bit of free-on and a jump start for the compressor. It was back on and working within 30 minutes. They recommended a cleaning for the inside unit and said if anything gives me a problem to call them back as the compressor was on its last life. and they could replace the outside unit for $3000. There was no need to replace the inside unit or parts. Arctic air was fishing for an entire replacement which was a total scam. They weren't trying to fix my issue they were working for my money. That was 1 yr ago and it's still cooling like a charm. The other company also explained to me that units these days are actually only rated to cool your house 15-20 degrees cooler than the outside temp. Giving that it was 100+ last year it makes since of why my unit was struggling and was completely normal. I will never call this company again. read more

In the nature of full transparency and great customer service, they informed me that while they could have someone come check it out that day, weekend service fees were a bit higher and that if I am able to survive/wait until Monday that might be a more cost-effective option. So I did just that. They scheduled Josh to come out to my home on Monday at 9am. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. He explained things in an easy-to-understand manner and provided some tips/hacks to help my units run more efficiently in the future. So glad I chose Airheads. read more

We are writing to express our frustration and disappointment with the installation and operation of our brand new HVAC system, installed by your company on 05/28/2020. We purchased our 2009 home in November of 2020. We needed to have the system inspected and serviced to make sure it was working appropriately, and address any issues before they became a problem. Our first visit by your company was on 11/17/2020. There were some potential problems found by your technician during the initial inspection. We joined your comfort club at that time as well, so that we would have a maintenance plan to keep our unit running smoothly. Our first visit and repair bill was $546.11. On May 28, 2021 a technician returned for the routine maintenance, and found additional problems with our unit (which had run fine the entire time since we moved in). It was determined additional repairs were needed, which would cost us another several hundred dollars. Due to the age of the unit, the technician suggested the possibility of replacing it. Since we'd already had an expensive repair in November, and already needed another one in May, my husband and I decided it would probably be best to replace the unit to prevent continuous repairs that would be costly in the long run. We held off on the repair suggested by the technician and scheduled an appointment with a sales rep to get an estimate for a new unit. On May 30, 2020 we met with the sales rep and selected a new unit from the options offered. On June 7, 2020 our new 5 ton 16 seer 2 stage heat pump system was installed. We paid $11,708.52 for this system to be installed. Not long after our new unit was installed, we had a problem with condensate leaking out of the back up line on our patio, which was causing discoloration to our concrete and stucco. We went into the attic to see if there was a problem with the drain line. We saw both the intake air line and the blower side (not sure if I'm using correct terminology) were separating from the blower unit. We contacted your company and had a technician respond on 10/01/2020. The technician identified the problem and corrected it - the drain lines were hooked up incorrectly. The technician also corrected the issue with the intake and output separating from the unit in the attic. The drain problem was resolved at that visit and there were no other issues with the condensate drain line. The first week of November we had our first cold front of the season and used our brand new heater for the first time. We lost power to our thermostat for some reason, and the heater wouldn't work - which had never happened before. We were able to flip the breaker and get the power to the thermostat to turn back on and the heater to run for a while to heat our house a little, but before too long we lost power to the thermostat again. We called to schedule an appointment for repair, and did not try to use the heater fearing we may damage it due to the power issues. A technician responded on 11/09/2020 and believed there may be a wire switched, similar to the issue with the drain lines. The technician thought it would be a quick and easy fix, but ended up not being quick or easy. The technician asked if we'd had any electrical work done (we have not). He told us that the breaker amperage was not large enough to support the size of heating unit that was installed and said "this is just one of those unforeseen things." The technician disabled two of the four heating elements in the system to prevent it from further electrical shorts in the future. His only option was recommending an electrician we could contact to add a second breaker. We are not satisfied with this option, but we were not given any other choices at the time to resolve the issue. On January 15, 2022 we were out of town, and our teenage daughter was home with our pets. Our daughter texted us for help because the heater wasn't working and was only blowing cold air. We pulled up the Ecobee app and saw the thermostat was set at 70 degrees, but the house was only 61 degrees. It was 39 degrees outside. Words cannot express how upset we are with the position we find ourselves in. A brand new unit, several service calls, and still we don't have a reliable working system like we did prior to your company replacing our system. The electrical issue (IF that's truly the issue) is absolutely something your company should've "foreseen" as part of the installation process. When paying for a professional installation, sufficient power supply should absolutely be a factor in the bidding and installation process. If you are in the business of installing HVAC systems, you should be trusted to know whether there is a sufficient power source or not. Again, with ALL of the issues we've had with the brand new unit from installation - we are not convinced the electrical is causing the current issues at all. read more

I have to begin with the positive because even with all the difficulties, we are so thankful for the responsiveness of this company and the overall reasonable price quoted for a new unit. We lost AC on Sunday, called them Monday, agreed on Monday to move forward, and they began install early Wednesday. We called a bunch of campanies and only were able to get quotes from these guys and Home Depot same day. ACS installers were also very personable and had generally positive personalities. Also, the owner went above expectations to ensure that we got the repair part (yes for our brand new unit) Thursday rather than the originally quoted Monday from the supply company. Now I also have to at least mention the bad, because as a consumer I think you should hear my story, but please don't let it overshadow the fact that it is Thursday afternoon and we have working A/C! Concerns: 1. Brand new unit would not start when install done. Believed to be a faulty control board. Too late to pick up a new board same day. Will have to add an additional day to install. 2. Halfway through second day, found it was not a faulty control board after all. Found a power wire for one of the components not connected properly and shorting the fuse because it was touching metal. 3. Install took a full extra day which meant a significant inconvenience for us: we had to stay another night at the in-laws after my wife spent all day cleaning and doing bedding since we thought we were leaving, extra day off work for me, and I had to sit in the hot dusty house a second day. 4. Upon completion I expressed concerns about the unit not being a "New" unit after all the "fixes" and manipulation of components and asked if we could request a discount on the unit from the supplier/manuafacturer (did not want to take money from ACS because with an extra day of labor, they may have already been losing money) for providing a faulty unit. I was told no. Requested if I could contact supply to request a discount, I was told no. Requested if we could negotiate additional maintainence plan support to follow up on the unit and ensure it is still working well for the next year or so, I was told no but it would be available for purchase at full price. 5. Have an attic unit and I did not know they would not replace the air intake segment between the filter and the unit. Maybe this is standard, but surprised me. The previous owners did not use filters and the insulation in this segment was filthy. Discussed and they agreed to shop vac the insulation but would not install new. Not ideal in my opinion and suspect we will continue to be challenged with asthma and allergy symptoms because of it. 6. After unit was finally running, they opened the unit to the attic to draw some of the hot air from there and blow into the rest of the house. This blew cellulose insulation into the air making it difficult to breath and later it left a layer of dust on our furniture. Breathing for me continues to be challenging even now, a couple of days later. I am not sure why this is considered an acceptable measure to relieve the heat in the attic. 7. They swept afterward, but the worksite (our attic access is in our master bathroom) was still very dusty. Not sure why they did not shop vac. Otherwise, they did take the old unit and clean up all trash as far as I have been able to see. Nothing left on the side of the road for trash pickup. 8. A technician is responsible for closing out billing. This was strange to me because I was expecting to be able to talk through the bill in light of the circumstances with a person that had the ability to discuss it. Any question or special request I mentioned had to be filtered to the owner or billing person. I asked to talk to one of them in person before paying the bill but they were unable to schedule a time to talk in person before I paid because "payment immediately upon completion is a part of our original agreement". Seemed strange to me that my argument that the extra day of install and my having to simply accept a repaired faulty unit as not being a part of the original agreement was simply shrugged off. 9. After all the trouble, I was offered a switch that cuts of the unit if it floods to prevent ceiling damage ($160 value). Then it was still added to the invoice and I had to remind them that they had offered it to us for free. Conclusion Four days is long enough to go without AC in 100 degrees and I suspect if we had held out for another company it would have been at least as long if not longer - for this reason alone, I do not regret choosing ACS to perform our install. However, our supposedly unusual install did leave a bad taste in my mouth. My greatest concern in the whole experience is I felt they believed my opinion did not matter and that they did not want to take the time to hear my concerns and complaints in person. I have nothing but praise for Airheads HVAC. We have had 2 different units installed by them in different parts of our home, and we're extremely happy with them both. David was the primary installer on both our jobs, and he was courteous, knowledgeable, and did a great job. He explained everything they were doing, and showed us how to work the units, remotes, etc. once they were done. Additionally, the price for each unit was almost half of what another company had quoted us! No hot or cold spots! They are masters at balancing temperature in every room. But indoor air quality isn't just about temperature, it's also about purification. They have that too! Beyond the quality of air comes a quality of service you don't see too often anymore. The people at ACS, whether on the phone or in person, are kind, respectful, and will find any way to help you they can. Along with work on my unit I also signed up for the monthly service program. I am having quite a bit of difficulty with Air Conditioning Services, out of Copperas Cove, TX. I made a large purchase with the company for their equipment, as well as their services. They provided a product/service that was of poor quality, as well as a poor/unnecessary recommendation for a system and equipment that was not needed in my home. I have had difficulty with it starting from the day that they installed it in my home, and they are not (at this time) standing by their product/services. They have instead, charged me for additional services provided on the equipment which is covered under a warranty. During installation, duct work (in my home attic) was dislodged/opened/modified as well, leaving it open and exposed for debris to enter into my central heating/air conditioning system; thus causing malfunctions and damage to the brand new system. At this point, I would not recommend this company for their services, or product. read more
