I came in at 12:30 on Wednesday for lunch. I was seated immediately and my waitress had my water out quickly. I ordered the lunch portion General Tso's with Won Ton soup and steamed rice. The soup had two large dumplings and they were tasty. The entrée had a large portion of chicken and the sauce was flavorful. For the cost of the meal the quantity was great. Honestly this was the worst asian food I've ever had. The service was very forced and rushed (not like it was busy or needed to be). Very dim and off putting vibes in there. It was so soft and soggy but yet could just bend like nothing, had the worst mushy flavor. We couldn't even eat the chicken and just ate the vegetables for crunch and texture. Today's lunch is Sushi Combo A. I ate a couple pieces before the picture. It's very good. My husband and I eat here often. Our normal order is The Lady Gaga roll (me), spicy octopus salad (me) and my husband gets the steamed pork dumplings and the shaggy dog. We love Akashi. The staff is wonderful and we love the sushi. So thankful they are in our neighborhood because it's the only restaurant in this area that I feel is worth the cost. The sushi is always delicious. Absolutely love this place, however unfortunately I had a very bad experience tonight. Our server Yan, completely rushed our service. We got there at 6pm, there was 3 of us. At 6:05 2/3 people received food and finished their food before the 3rd person was even brought theirs. Then as the 3rd person started eating the server came up and cleared everyone else's plates and leaning over the 3rd person eating alone. Then as she was STILL eating she asked her if she wanted a to go box when she wasn't even half way done with her meal. This sushi was great! I try to be vegetarian when I can and they have a great vegetarian sushi plate! My husband got the Louisiana and lady Gaga rolls. Cucumber salad or Sunomon was overly sweet. Hamachi Kama wasn't fresh, tasted fishy, over cooked, probably frozen. Crab rangoons, or crab puffs as the menu calls it, aren't good. I'd come here before for lunch. I ended up missing the lunch menu which last till 3 PM. I decided to order the ahi tuna steak which came in two pieces w plain lettuce. Mind you I was starving at that point so I went ahead and ate one portion. I was asked by the waitress if I wanted a to go box. I wasn't expecting anything for free but I had to let her know that it had no flavor whatsoever. I did not get an apology or any kind of response. I was originally going to Bao's across the street. This is a very nice, neat Asian fusion restaurant with a modern bar in front of Walmart facing the newly constructed 99 highway. I came at a slow time between 2 and 3 PM. There's only one waitress with a good sense of humor and she is great at communicating about the dishes. It's very quiet in here with soft-playing mix of cool pop, Americana, and faith music. The table and chairs are made of very sturdy wood, and a fork and spoon and cloth napkin wait for you. I ordered water and pineapple juice which was two dollars. I figured that I was going to get 4 to 6 ounces, but it ended up being 16 ounces! It taste very good, and it wouldn't surprise me if it was freshly squeezed. I ordered the shrimp udon with the substitution of chicken. The Japanese noodles basked in light teriyaki arrived in a huge oval bowl filled with carrots, slithered pea pods, onion and scallions which had the right crunchy texture. The waitress asked me how I liked the food and about my personal life. She was happy to take my payment at the table or at the bar on the left-hand side. Overall, it was a very good experience.
