We were introduced to this little spot by a few family friends and have not been disappointed. The fish is FRESH. The fishmongers here are very helpful and know so much about their products. They can answer pretty much any question you've got. I am obsessed with their ahi tuna salad & can eat it by the spoonful by itself. They also offer pre-shucked raw oysters in a tub (~30 oysters). I enjoyed eating these on fancy crackers topped with a dab of horseradish. The cocktail sauce sold here is not bad but a bit sweet for my taste. Love this local gem!

This place is a staple in my home. I cannot see myself shopping any where else for seafood. Yes, this place is slightly more expensive compared to grocery chains, but I can guarantee you will never come home with fishy smelling seafood. Their tilipia filets are fairly large in size, but not tough. A perfect combination of tenderness, freshness and flakiness. The salmon is $12.95 a pound, but before you say geez.... Think about this. Do you want fresh salmon for $12.95/ lb or salmon that has a foul odor for $9.99/ lb from krogers or heb? I'm just being honest. Redfish fillets are $14.95/ lb. People ask me where I purchase my redfish, but when I state the price their heads turn the other way. If you love redfish like I do, it's cost effective to purchase the filets at $14.95/ lb from airline than to pay $33 for a third of a filet from a four or five star restaurant. This is me thinking out loud. Unlike other markets, airline don't charge you for the whole fish then filet, it's already filleted a ready to go. Parking is available in front of the market, and if you have any questions or concerns, ask for Jose. He is very knowledgable about the inventory.

Fresh can be measured in taste and Airline has that down to an art. We came on Saturday afternoon after reading about them in Houstonia Magazine. The parking situation is ridiculous, in the sense that it is really small. I'm sure there are less than 15 spots to park. Aside from the parking the staff is amazing and helpful. Stop in for good conversation and better seafood. If the budget allowed to buy here every week I would. Quality comes with price. It's a few more pennies/ lb. than your local Kroger, HEB, and Randall's. Airline will be added in our biweekly rotation for seafood from now on. It's very hard to go back once you experience the better tastes in life!

They have the best smoked salmon .

This place is well hidden, but they have the best fresh fish in town. Not on my side of town but the 30mins drive from Richmond Tx is worth the drive. For the best fish in town They have everything from lobster/shrimp/fish/ to crawfish And the staff is always friendly and always ready to help you with any questions you have with the fish on how to cook it.

Ask the Community - Airline Seafood

    Do they have fresh oysters?

Sometimes? The whole point is they only sell what's locally fresh and available. After Harvey, NO ONE should be selling Gulf oysters as the beds were pretty badly screwed up with bacteria and oysters are filter feeders.

Do you have freshly caught gulf shrimp?

Questions posted in this way go to users, not the business. They tend to have shrimp, and the whole point of Airline is to focus on local, fresh seafood. Which means, if the shrimp catch the day before was horrible, they may not on the day you go in

It's close to Costco and H-Mart, and near H-Mart you'll also find Paris Baguette and Tous Les Jours. There's an 85°C nearby as well and with Costco right next door, you could easily spend half a day hopping between all these places. On weekends, traffic can be pretty crazy and parking isn't easy since everyone shops then. However, if you come on a weekday especially outside of lunchtime--it's much easier to find a parking spot. Inside 99 Ranch, there's a food court with options like San dong noodles, dim sum, stir-fry dishes, and Chinese barbecue. On the other side of the plaza, there are also several restaurants, including Korean spots and Vietnamese crawfish places. As for the store itself, there are always clearance items near the Kung Fu Tea area, which we usually check out before heading in to shop for fruits, produce, vegetables--pretty much everything. I found my favorite Japanese soy milk but this was banana flavored. Way too sweet for me and it was $4/carton. It's a large store and they offer a loyalty program. If it's your first time visiting 99 Ranch, you could easily spend an hour just roaming the aisles. There's so much to see--it almost feels like a little field trip every time we go.

Then he proceeded to help every other customer who walked up after me. When I finally asked what was going on, he suddenly told me I needed to get a number--something that was never mentioned when I first arrived. This was rude, dismissive, and extremely unprofessional. There was zero communication, zero courtesy, and no accountability. Watching someone intentionally skip you after you've been standing there waiting is beyond frustrating and disrespectful. Customer service like this is unacceptable. If you don't want to help customers, you shouldn't be working in a customer-facing role. Management seriously needs to address this behavior because it reflects terribly on the business. I will not be returning, and I would not recommend this place to anyone unless they enjoy being ignored and treated like they don't matter. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable. Ended up going to H-Mart down the street. Much more professional.

I am so glad that we did because the food was awesome! We tried the fried flounder(special of the day) and shrimp plates. All plates come with two sides and a complimentary tea or lemonade. The beverages are self served so I decided to mix them(delicious Arnold Palmer). We chose french fries, hush puppies, and a veggie eggroll as our sides. Also, we had the fried crab fingers and onion rings. Everything was extremely fresh and fried to golden perfection! Most notably the food wasn't greasy at all which says a lot about their frying technique! The flounder was light and crispy. The shrimp were the best that I have eaten in the city. The hush puppies were also the best that I have ever had. The crab fingers were awesome! The service was excellent! Food came out quickly even with there being a fair amount of people waiting to order. The staff were very nice and helpful. The lady at the front was incredibly friendly and patient with customers. The staff made sure that we had everything that we needed including condiments. Top notch service. The ambiance in the restaurant was very lively but in a peaceful way. The restaurant itself is very small like a dive which I love! It has about six tables which was fine with us because most people were getting togo orders. We enjoyed eating inside the restaurant! The market section has an assortment of fresh fish and seafood for customers who would prefer to cook at home. People from all walks of life were here which is a testament to the goodness of the food! Thank you Chef Chris for the recommendation! I have nothing bad to say about this place. They have been in business since 1972 and I can understand why! If you haven't tried it yet, you're missing out!

Unfortunately there's only one in the city, but it's "centrally" located (get the pun?) off Westheimer and 610 near the Galleria. We frequent this grocery store a few times a month, and though the products are more expensive overall than your normal Kroger or HEB, the selection is amazing and worth the visit. Here's what I love about Central Market: the produce, salads, sandwiches, meats, seafood, wine, cereal, yogurts, bread, coffee, ice cream, spices - actually pretty much everything. Even their flowers are incredible. Now here are some pro tips; listen carefully: - if you want the real, full CM experience, go on a Saturday or Sunday. You'll feel like you're at Costco waiting in line for samples and trying to push your cart without running someone over. But if you want a quiet, peaceful experience, go on a weekday during the day. You have to work, you say? Take a few hours of vacation or personal time off and head to Central Market. It'll be better than your last few vacations. - they have an app and it's amazing! You can save 20-30% each shopping trip with their offers and coupons. Make sure you add the deals in your app before you go to check out. (This part is a little annoying.) - ice cream section: buy the Hellenika Ube coconut. Just do it. Taste it and you can thank me later. It will change your life. If you want to overpay for it, fly to Seattle and find it at Pike Place Market. - stop buying spices like peppercorn and coriander seeds in bulk that are stored in bottles and jars. Go to Central Market and just buy exactly what you need for your recipe. You'll spend 24 cents for this and 58 cents for that, etc. Not $5 for a jar of spices that will lose its flavor or expire after a year. And the big question everyone asks: Central Market or Whole Foods? Whole Foods has way more locations, but CM takes the cake. It's just amazing. Trust me.
