    Broken teeth before

Been going here for over 5 years now and they are always the best! Recently broke 3 of my front teeth working and had them fixed within 2 hours by Dr. LaBombard. I can't even tell they were done and that's only my temporary fix! My coworkers are all asking for his name in case they need a dentist. They are always so nice and make me feel comfortable (I don't like going to the dentist). Thank you guys for all you do

The way my teeth used to look, a photoshopped version of my teeth, and the way my teeth actually turned out.

Although my own maintenance was fairly commendable, there was no judgement from any of the staff. Everyone I met, from the front desk, to the technicians, and dentists, were all so well toned and communicative for all good and suggestive points. Terrible Experience - Racial Discrimination and Disrespectful Treatment…read more I arrived on time for my 10:30 appointment, checked in, and was told to wait. After waiting for nearly 30 minutes, I noticed multiple people who came in after me were seen before me. At first, I thought it might be a scheduling mix-up, so I continued to wait. But when it kept happening, I decided to leave at 10:55. Shortly after, they called me saying they couldn't locate me, which was insulting after I'd been waiting for so long. It felt like my time was completely disrespected, especially when I saw others being treated ahead of me for no apparent reason. I went in for a consultation about braces, but this experience was the worst quality of care I've ever received. Based on what I experienced, I can only describe this as a form of discrimination. I won't be returning, and I would advise anyone else to be cautious when choosing this office for care. Attached are screenshots of both my appointments and the call timestamp for proof.

I forwarded them my dental X-rays straight from my previous office, which included both bitewing and full-mouth images (all taken a few months ago), but Castle Dental told me I only submitted bitewings and that I would need a full-mouth series. Given that these are only covered by my insurance every 24 months, and that I just got them done a few months ago, I would need to pay out-of-pocket for this. I confirmed with my original dentist that they had indeed included all X-rays in the email. This made me immediately distrustful of Castle Dental, because it meant that the office either did not check carefully or was misinformed about what they had in front of them. That alone was enough for me to cancel my appointment, but in fact, more happened. Additionally, the office could not provide an estimate prior to my appointment, stating they would only discuss costs in person. This is entirely counterintuitive. Patients need to know if their insurance covers services and what their out-of-pocket costs will be before sitting in the chair. I asked if it was possible for them to run a benefits pre-estimate, and it genuinely felt like they had never considered that. They ultimately said that they would leave a note in my account for that, but did not give me any hope that this would actually get done. Lastly, I was told I would need a diagnostic visit first, then a cleaning, then additional visits for any other necessary procedures. This felt like an unnecessary step to add appointments, potentially just to increase charges to me or my insurance. They scheduled the diagnostic for later this week, and said the cleaning would happen in May, at the earliest. I am moving out of state between now and May, so I requested that they cancel everything. Overall, the experience raised concerns about transparency and professionalism, so I decided not to move forward with Castle Dental. I am very disappointed with my experience. Regardless of scheduling not working out, I did not want to move forward with this office due to the other issues.

I will say the only positive out of this was the hygienist, she should probably go to another office. I was told that I needed a filling and wasn't warned about it being on the wisdom tooth and that it could hit a nerve and cause or irritate infection, i believe this dentist didn't properly review my X-rays or warn me. As a result, i left the office in pain and worse condition than when i walked in. Shortly after i got a second opinion from another castle dental and the dentist there said he would not have performed the filling or he would've warmed the patient first of the possibilities or even referred them out to an endodontist before doing the filling. The dentist said i should try to get a refund, but 41 st street is being difficult. The tooth that had the filling will be extracted so the doctor at this office took me for my money. I could have use that money for a root canal or extraction and i could have done so sooner. This doctor has left me in pain for months! Also, the facility is in poor condition. I do not recommend this specific office, dentist or staff.

I loved the people treating me. Unfortunately, my rating dropped dramatically with the people working the front desk. Though nice, they caused a money nightmare. I went in for the first time for an emergency exam, my mouth was sore and swollen. I gave them my insurance and went back. I paid what my insurance didn't and made another appointment to actually get an in depth exam, x-rays, and a cleaning. The receptionist gave me a page that told me about how much everything n my next visit would cost, and I squeezed that with a little bit extra into the dental budget. Later that week, Delta Dental sent me a receipt with how much they covered and how much I might still owe. (The amount I had already paid) I got there for my second visit, and I told everything on the front end looks great, and am sent back. I had finished the x-rays, exam and cancer screening when the lady from up front stepped in, declared that they don't take the Delta Dental that covers me, and that everything done that day was full price (they felt bad and gave me a tiny discount) and did I want to continue on with the cleaning? I stared at her in confusion and horror. Then, I showed her the insurance receipts where they covered me in the previous visit. I also showed them where my Delta Dental web page showed they were in my network. (Which was how I found them) They stated that they hadn't been paid by my insurance yet for my first visit a week before and would have to pay for that visit too. I got out of the chair in shock and declined the cleaning. I went back and forth with the receptionist, nearly in tears. I have a large ovarian cyst that was getting painful, and the money that was set aside to deal with that was the only place I could pull the money from. I paid the full amount, that they said I owed them. They said they would try to bill my insurance, and if it went through, they would refund the money. And if they got paid for that first visit, I would be refunded for that one too. (I showed her again where DD stated they paid for my first visit). They never even attempted to bill my insurance for the second visit. I later called DD and asked. They did call me many, many times to try and get me in for that cleaning, however! I answered each time, hoping they had figured out the insurance problem. Each time I was met with confusion, was told that they DO take my insurance, then told that they would find out what was going on and call me back. I would get a call back from someone else asking me to schedule my cleaning... again. I never got to talk to anyone who said they would figure it out again. (Or maybe I did, and they played ignorance). It's now been several months. They never attempted to bill my insurance, so I never got my money back. And because of how much I had to pay, I have been living on a prayer that the painful cyst does not burst because I don't have the money anymore to see my doctor. (Jan 1st, I'll have money in my medical spending account and can finally go then.) I will not, however, go back to this dentist office.

After the unnecessary x-rays were done, I met Dr R. She was insensitive and rough from the moment she started her consultation and exam. I explained to her that I had recently, within the last two weeks, had numerous dental procedures done including a bone graft In my upper left jaw and 2 teeth on my lower left jaw had just had extensive work done on them to prepare for new crowns. One of these teeth was causing me extreme pain which prompted my dentist to refer me to this practice for a root canal. She was insensitive, rough and showed no compassion for my pleas that she please be gentle as she knocked roughly around on my teeth with her metal instrument. She then proceeded to use the freezing gel on my teeth, she hit the exposed nerve and I very clearly said no, please don't do that on that tooth again, the pain is unbearable. She said, we'll know it's the tooth we're looking for when the pain continues after I touch it with the freezing cold gel. I said it's persisting. She proceeds to question me about the actual location of the tooth that needs a root canal because the tooth I'm indicating is in pain isn't the one my dentist said needs the root canal. I felt like she was trying to question the validity of my pain, she was questioning me about the actual location of my pain using dental terms I'm not familiar with and she continued to be rough in her examination methods. I told her I wasn't comfortable having her examine me any longer and I wanted out of the chair. She said fine.. I got up & she proceeded to question me about what in the world she could have done to cause me to feel so uncomfortable. In this moment I was in pain & very freaked out by her demeanor. I just told her I didn't feel she was treating me in a compassionate or respectful way and I wanted to go. Before I left the office they charged me a large sum of money for the X-rays I didn't need and for the weirdest & most painful dental "consultation" I've ever had. After talking to my dentist who made the referral & had spoken to Dr.R about the fact that Dr.R and I didn't have a good interaction, he encouraged me to speak to the office to discuss the x-ray charges. I called the office to ask that they remove x-ray charges from my credit card because they didn't need to be done. Prior to this appointment my dentis had sent all of my x-rays from the last 2 months, and they had access to 3-D imaging which I had done within the last 3 months at my oral surgeons office. They told me that when you send these kind of files between offices they're " too blurry" to use so they have to do their own X-rays. The front desk employee I spoke to was rude, dismissive and argumentative. She said the decision not to refund my payment was made by the general manager of the three or four Endodontic Associates of Austin offices and that the GM is out of town and that she had no idea when she will return. When I asked for the general managers name and number she finally gave me her name but refused to give me her number. She said the GM might call me today but really, she has no idea when she'll return my call. Based on my experience with this practice I would never recommend Endodontic Associates of Austin to anyone.
