6 Stars for Dr. Moossy and his practice. One year after moving to Austin my front tooth veneer popped off (both front teeth have veneers since I was a teenager). I set up a few consultations with cosmetic dentists in the area. After my first consult I was horrified. They wanted to replace all of my top teeth with new veneers at the low price of the cost of a new car. Now, I've spent the last 5 years going through extractions, braces and Invisalign all to "keep" the teeth I have and they wanted to take them all out. Clearly not the dentist for me. I saw Dr. Moossy and was relieved that he too was in favor of only replacing my two front veneers. He went into great detail on what he would do to get my new veneers to a place of perfection with a minor gum lift, teeth whitening (in office or on my own) and then working with the lab to ensure I was 100% happy with the final veneers - shape, color, etc. At every visit, his entire staff we're extremely pleasant and friendly to a point that I've never encountered in a doctor's office, dentist office or even a med-spa. They truly care and love what they do and where they work. Just had my last visit after a couple of sets of temporaries (which everyone thought they were my permanent veneers because they looked so good) and I'm beyond thrilled to have my smile back. Dr Moossy just gets it! The most professional and amazing doctor I've met. I've found dr Moossy because I needed a second opinion from Swish dental. I am so happy Swish told me all those crazy things otherwise I would have never met dr Moossy. Swish dentist previously told that I needed 175 crowns, plus some crowns and cleaning under some super sedation, and some more. It sounded too bad to be true.... I came to doctor Moossy totally scared that I will now have to sell my kidney to fix all this estimate. Dr. Moossy and Happiness (couldn't find better name-person match, she is a perfect girl) his assistant treated me like a family member. He has an amazing bedside manner, very user friendly language, this is something, that dental school don't teach, you need to be born this way. Not pushy, not a dental sales person. You can ask him anything that is not clear for on those X-rays. He will explain it till you get it. Also, he prioritized my dental work taking into consideration that I am pregnant, so sedation is ok, but better to limit till the baby is born. In the end no crowns were needed. The fillings he made didn't give me any discomfort or pain and felt very natural the next day. I wish he could deliver my baby. Totally trust him. Totally happy I've found my dentist man! read more

I haven't been to a dentist in...well, the number of years is too embarrassing to mention, but I was referred by a friend to visit Dr. Moossy's office. The first thing that struck me was the atmosphere. The waiting area is very chill and relaxed and beautiful. The ladies at the front desk are extremely polite. The dental assistants did their very best to make sure that I was calm. I really can't say enough about how pleasant Dr. Moossy's staff truly is. Everyone is so professional and so down to earth. I went in to get some cavities filled and after years of dreading the needle, I can honestly say, I didn't feel a thing...(while He was administering the anesthesia) His dental assistant knew exactly what to do, what to hand him...and everything was very smooth. It reminded me of a Olympic Sprint Relay Team...quick, but very smooth hand-offs. LOL Dr. Moossy is one of the coolest dentists I've ever encountered. I didn't know what or WHO to expect upon visiting his office. He is very honest and upfront about what's going on in your mouth and what needs to be done. He helped me get over my dental fears. Dr Moossy is very knowledgable about TMJ.....AND what to do about it! He took time to explain things very well and showed me models to explain what was happening with my jaw and teeth. He took impressions for a new bite guard that I think is finally going to work. My old one just made me clinch more and he was able to explain why. It all made perfect sense to me. The new guard will fit in the front of my mouth and not allow my back teeth to go together, thus, preventing clinching at night.....FINALLY! I have already clinched so long that my back teeth are cracked, but, I am hoping that this night guard will help with the pain that goes down my neck and into my back. I am moving from Austin soon, but sure wish I could take Dr Moossy with me. Dr Moossy's staff is the friendliest dental office staff I have ever encountered. And everyone is very competent. I was more relaxed than usual at a dentist appointment, and this was my first visit. I know it's Austin, but......nothing weird here! I would recommend Dr. Moossy to anyone in Austin who does not yet have a dentist or to anyone who does not like their current dentist. Seriously, people, if you don't like your dentist then switch. I have been a patient of Dr. Moossy's for about 5 years and can do nothing but praise his work, friendship and staff. I first approach Michael as a result of a car accident I had that result some 20 years later in my teeth starting to crack and fall out. The problem was due to my jaw being out of alignment due to the car accident. Dr. Moossy and his staff, over a period a about 2 years completed the work necessary to not only help to realign my jaw, but were able to fix me up with a set of lower and upper crowns. He even fitted me with braces to straighten my lower teeth prior to putting the crowns on, and set up appointments necessary for me to have implants put in for two teeth. I have received so many compliments on my new teeth, due in part that I now smile more. In most pictures that are taken of me now, my teeth are what stands out the most. I can not say enough about how Dr. Moossy and his whole staff make me feel comfortable through their process of setting up appointment and their followup procedures to ensure I am satisfied. Dr. Moossy was recommended to me by his mentor, Dr. Rouse in San Antonio. Dental experiences before Dr. Moossy have been horrendous. The last time I got my teeth cleaned, in Seattle, I ended up with bruised hands from gripping the arm-rests so hard for three hours. My anxiety levels were off the charts. To say the least, I was so full of nerves and anxiety when I walked into Dr. Moossy's office. My teeth are so sensitive and honestly they needed some work. I was instantly put at ease when I met Joanna. She took care of my insurance and paperwork and they were so friendly. The office itself is very relaxing and soothing. It turns out that my teeth were a bit of a mess and I needed four teeth taken care of with fillings. Also, the last cleaning I got was less than stellar. Dr. Moossy was able to take care of my teeth, and clean them better in a very expedient manner. Dr. Moossy took before and after pictures and even emailed me them! My teeth look and feel great. Dr. Moossy is the best. I've been with him for 5+ years now (this review is long overdue). His office staff are so friendly and helpful (they always remember your name - shout out to Joanna!). I've had a few different dental hygienists, but I am confident that they are all so wonderful and helpful. As someone with previously terrible dental hygiene, I have never felt guilty or judged for my history. When I started with Dr. Moossy, my teeth were a mess and I had severe anxiety about the dentist's office. When my husband found Dr. Moossy, it was the best thing that could have happened to me. Dr. Moossy is so down to earth and real about dental care. While at first I had what felt like thousands of procedures (removals, crowns, implants, you name it - I had it done here), the office was warm and inviting and the staff made me feel so comfortable. Luckily for me, my teeth are so much healthier now and only need to visit twice a year. I'd been meaning to switch to Dr. Moossy for a while now, because he donated several items to a fundraising event I hosted in town last year. That fact alone makes me appreciate the Moossy Dentistry team - they're very involved in the Austin community, and are always willing to donate to some very important events/ causes. On to my office visit - it was fantastic! The office is gorgeous, it's in a great Central location (next to several yummy food joints if you need to grab lunch afterwards). The girls working the front desk were super-polite. I'm pretty sure they were playing the Temper Trap Pandora station throughout the office - which made me hum and enjoy the visit that much more! The cleaning was very thorough, and they used a water-lazer cleansing technique that really made my teeth feel awesomely clean. And I'm super anal about my teeth- so the cleaner, the better! Overall, I'm more than happy that I finally made the switch! Dr. Moossy and his staff are, by far, the best dental team I've had. His staff is professional, polite, and knowledgeable. My hygienist, Michelle, was excellent. I've had a problem with rough hygienists in the past, but I could barely feel Michelle hard at work. She made sure I was comfortable the entire time, and she explained various options for an electric toothbrush and further oral care without pressuring me to buy anything at that moment. Dr. Moossy himself is a charismatic and intelligent man. He used a model skull to explain the changes I've experienced in my teeth to ensure my understanding. He's an expert in his field, and he's great at communicating with his staff and patients. Their office is also prompt with insurance reimbursements, which anyone on a tight budget can appreciate. No one really enjoys strangers messing around with their teeth, but Dr. Moossy and his team made me feel completely at home and more than satisfied with the experience. I know Austin is all about vintage and being nostalgic but the dentist office is one place that I'm glad has well advanced. Dr. Moossy's office is well equipped with latest and greatest to make the procedures as quick & painless as possible. The office demeanor is fun (a DENTAL office mind you!) , friendly, and comforting. There were literally patients LAUGHING and I don't think it was laughing gas induced. The patients, the office staff, and Dr. Moossy all seemed to be genuinely happy to be there. He is very conservative on treatment and sensitive to financial drawbacks. No hassling going on in this office. The office manager Joanna was super friendly and helpful with my excessive questions. I find my visits to the Moossy General and Cosmetic Dentistry the most pleasurable of any dentist visits in my life. The staff is so friendly and are always able to facilitate my emergency needs no matter where I am. This summer I was in Southampton with a crown that came loose and caused an infection, and had a antibiotic prescription called in within hours. What a relief to know they were there to help. I was also able to get an immediate appointment upon my arrival back to Austin. Michael has amassed a fantastic group of individuals, headed up by the "Make the client the most important person at hand, as guided by him at each visit. His install of a full set of upper crowns in my mouth that keep me smiling at all times and they have received great reviews by all my friends. Love Michael and his staff and I highly recommend them. I came to Dr. Moossy a sad and broken girl. I had lived in bed for five years, only going out to see the doctors. I thought my life was over as I spiraled deeper and deeper into total reclusivity. I wouldn't smile. I couldn't kiss because the pain was so bad. Finally, my husband had enough. He said, "there has to be somebody who can help you." His search of the Internet began. He found Dr. Moossy and made an appointment for me. He went with me to see Dr. Moossy, to help me assuage my fear of more rejection and failure. As a new resident, finding a good dentist for my family was at the top of my list. I received a strong glowing recommendation to try Moossy's. Now I know why! The staff is stellar. They are kind and courteous as well as efficient. Dr. Moossy himself is incredibly personable and took the time to discuss my concerns, his recommended treatment plan, and to answer all of my questions. He and his staff put me at ease and made me feel included in my own dental care. Ya'll, I can't say enough good things about Dr. Moossy. I am a long-time patient of his, and have been very happy with every single bit of work he's done on me. This weekend, despite not having been in to see him in 6+ years (!), he agreed to see me on a SUNDAY (!!!) to fix dental work I accidentally broke the day before. Most doctors would not see you on a weekend, even in an emergency, and Dr. Moossy will. I frankly do not know any other dental establishment that would even get back to you on a weekend. He is kind, sweet, and super-responsive. All of the staff is the same way--could not be nicer and more understanding if you are a dental-work weenie like me. I would like to start out by saying this is my first time leaving a review. I LOVE DR MOOSSY AND HIS STAFF!!!! I'm a 52 year old black female, new to Austin. I looked up Dentist in Yelp, called 4 of them. His staff was so sweet and helpful, they looked up my info for me. I decided to go with him. I have never been so impressed in my life! Dr Moossy worked thru lunch and breaks to get my tooth right! Then he did something I've never heard another Dr do..... I was referred to Dr Moossy by multiple friends over the last few months. My experience with Moossy General & Cosmetic Dentistry was just amazing...I can't say that I have ever been to a dental appt. that felt so 'at home' and comforting. Everyone really was just SO NICE! Cosmetic procedures can be daunting. Dr Moossy and his staff made me feel at ease about the entire procedure. I couldn't be more happy with my experience with DR Moossy. Such a kind staff and great music playing all the time. I left the office with all my work taken care of and the brightest smile ever. I only felt more encouraged to take better care of my teeth and was advised to try dental picks to reach between my teeth where a retainer has been glued for 15 years. Finally i have been able to keep my teeth clean without getting floss stuck in my teeth all the time. They have a loyal client in me.
