Booked a round-trip shared ride from the airport to the hotel and then back again after our five night stay. The shared ride morphed into a private ride in a small Toyota Prius with no additional charges. Only had to wait around 10 minutes after informing them we had our bags. Our driver had to drop us off a couple of blocks from the hotel as the San Francisco Pride Parade was going on and the streets near our hotel were blocked off. The same driver and car picked us up for our return trip. She was actually early. I don't know the Taxi and Limousine Laws in San Francisco, but it appeared to me that the vehicle we were in was a private vehicle, as there was no TLC signage inside or outside the vehicle. read more

In San Fransisco for Dreamforce. Booked shuttle for Fruday morning. Representative recommended an 8:50am shuttle for an 11:00am flight departure. I said no, earlier and was assured 8:20am was enough time. Driver was late, and the office added 2 or 3 additional stops, meaning a much later arrival at an airport with thousands of people leaving to go home. Google maps is saying 30 minutes to airport, sure hope that is accurate and I may just make my flight. Absolutely never again would I book with them. read more

They are the service behind SuperShuttle in the Bay Area. The biggest problem with airport pickups is that they aren't upfront with the actual pickup times. They start with go out and wait and then. It's 30-40mins later that the actual van shows up. The operator is usually clueless and rude When you call them to follow up. The prices have gone up and the service doesn't match. Won't recommend unless you like being strung out in the cold and spoken to rudely. Get an UberXL or two instead for better pickup times and prices. I am riding to the airport in an Airport Express van as I write this, and regretting my decision to do so. The driver literally did not say a word to me as I was picked up. I asked him if they take cards, he glared at me for a moment and nodded his head. The van is not in great shape - there is duct tape everywhere in the front and just feels not particularly clean, overall. Not to mention the creaking, bouncing suspension, coupled with my driver's propensity for speeding up and slamming on his brakes every 100 feet or so. I am close to vomiting. The last annoyance is the "Fasten Your Seatbelt" sign taped to the front dash, which my driver has chosen to ignore. I'm normally a proponent of safety, but he's a grown man, he can make his own decisions... UNLESS THE VEHICLE MAKES A LOUD BEEPING NOISE EVERY TWO MINUTES TO REMIND YOU TO BUCKLE UP... FOR THE ENTIRE RIDE! Please, please just put your seatbelt on and make the beeping stop! All in all, definitely not worth the money or time you save by using an Uber or the Bart. On June 29th, I booked a shuttle for 7a PST on July 2nd to pick me up from my house in San Jose ca, and bring me to SFO. On the morning of July 2nd at 7:01 I received a call from the driver telling me that dispatch accidentally sent him the wrong address, and he was in Cupertino. With traffic, cupertino could be 30 to 40 minutes away. Worried that I would miss my flight, I found another ride and told the driver to forget it. I then called Airport Express and let them know. The dispatcher rudely told me "what do you want me to say, these things happen" he told me they would refund my money.  I checked my credit card statement when I got back from vacation and noticed that it still was not refunded. Upon noticing this, I contacted Airport Express and told them about my situation. The operator was extremely rude, telling me it wasn't there fault since I probably could have made my flight and I shouldn't have cancelled. I told them I had a family of 8 and with covid, I wasn't sure how long the wait times would be so I didnt want to risk it. He told me too bad and they weren't going to refund my money. There are lots of extra precautionary steps when traveling right now, and all I wanted was an early pickup to ensure my family did not miss our flight. Receiving a call at the time of pickup telling me that they were in a different city further added to the stress. BAD EXPERIENCE. Prepaid online for shared ride van for party of 2 from SFO to Fisherman's Wharf. I followed their directions, so after picking up my luggage at the airport, I phoned their office, only to get a recording saying the office closes at 10:30pm. It was 10:35pm. Nowhere on their website does it mention this! So I called airport assistance and was told to wait at the share ride stop in the middle island, so we found the area and waited and waited. No van. Then a cab driver told us maybe we were on the wrong level. Then another bus driver told us to stay put. Frustrated and upset, we took a cab and ended up paying almost $60 including tip, for a ride to the hotel. The next day, I made a call to Airport Express office, but they did not even care! SFO should remove this business's name from their website. Never again will I book them. read more

One of the worst experiences ever. The driver came to pick us up with an open gas can in his van. The fumes were so bad after he entered the freeway which caused the gas to leak from the container. All of us, kids and adults were so nauseous from the fumes and they even permeated all of our clothing and hair. The driver knew the fumes were strong since he was not using the air conditioner, but chose to have his windows down. He was well aware of the situation and he did not say a word to us. We got to SFO and had to take big gulps of oxygen as soon as we got out of the van. We took photos of the gas can and it was a good idea because when I called to complain, the company did not believe me. We ended up on a 15 hour flight to Europe nauseous and smelling of gasoline. What a joke! And the company offered 10% back after spending $222 on this joke of a ride. Really bad management and horrible customer service. Never again. ANGRY DISGRUNTLED DRIVERS Don't use these people. We had our hotel set up a shuttle for the 2 adults, 1 child and a lap child to go to Oakland airport. Before we even got on the shuttle the guy was pissy. He was upset that WE? didn't "tell" them that there were 4 people. Then, he angrily makes unsafe stops to pick up other passengers--so we have a witness. The 3rd set of passengers took off, earlier on Super Shuttle.Which pisses him off even more. (that should have been a clue) Then, he starts driving. Being from out of town, you just assume they're taking you to the place you asked for. NOOO. He drove us to San Francisco Airport. Then, we pay anyway and get off and take a cab. By now, we're just over an hour away from our flight taking off. Hell no, were we going to let road rage man drive us and our children to Oakland now. This man was pissed off at the world and took it out on us. I made my reservations far in advance (a couple weeks) before my trip. The ride from the airport to my hotel was fine (although I did feel like the driver drove too fast, but whatever.) More than 15 minutes prior to our pickup time on the return trip, they call my cell phone and state "the driver is there looking for you." I inform them I'll be there shortly, as it is still more than 15 minutes prior to my pickup time. In the amount of time it took me to collect my suitcase and walk through my hotel to the front reception desk (still less than 15 minutes) the driver decided that waiting until my pickup time was too long, and pulled away. Fortunately I was able to flag the driver down. To Airport Express: if you say you are going to pick someone up at a certain time that has a reservation, don't leave BEFORE the scheduled time of the pick up. The shuttle picked me up from the hotel on time. The shuttle had only 3 others on it, and it was a fine ride. Two big issues when I got off. 1) My driver attempted to give me the wrong bag as I got off the shuttle. I had a green bag and a black bag, he gave me 2 black bags. 1 in 4 chance there...oops. Despite this, I still offered a $2 tip. 2) I was confused as I thought the hotel would charge my credit card for the rate, but it turns out that I needed to pay cash on the spot. The fare was $17, though the hotel advertised $16. I gave him a $20 and he informed me he did not have any change. How does a company that has a $17 fare not have a cache of dollar bills for change? As he got into the van he said I owe you a dollar. ?!?!?!? Congrats, driver, you've got another dollar in tip. Hopefully this post hurts your business. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. Another reviewer mentioned they thought they might die in this shuttle, and they are not over exaggerating. I honestly thought I may not survive this incredibly unsafe shuttle. For your reference, we were in van #124. A few notes: --Our seat belts did not work properly. After putting mine on, the seat belt kept locking in a tighter and tighter position so I couldn't move an inch. When I took it off to try adjust it, the van was shaking so profusely (before getting on the highway) that the seat belt locking mechanism would not allow me to pull it out and put it back on. --On the highway, the van was shaking so terribly, it felt like one of the wheels was going to fly off. Imagine the worst turbulence you've experienced on an airplane, for the entire drive, with broken seat belts. I had to stop myself from thinking I might die in this van. Upon exiting, my travel companion confessed he too had the thought we all might die. --The driver was reckless and dangerous. At times on the highway, he wasn't even in a lane; sometimes halfway into the emergency lane, sometimes straddling two lanes. He was speeding, weaving through traffic, and going way too fast on off-ramps; I considered that the van might just fly off the ramp, rather than completing the turn one of the times. After 30 minutes in this shaking vehicle, I was terrified. I had a headache and could not think straight. My advice: spend the extra $15 and TAKE A CAB. You might be saving your own life, or the life of another driver on the road. read more

A terrible and irresponsible company. The drivers are rude and they drive in an unsafe manner. I stopped on 19th Ave in front of the tracks near Stonestown. The van driver behind me was unhappy that I was not illegally moving forward and stopping on the rail tracks. He honked and changed lanes, but before moving forward he made sure to stop next to me and yell "F*** you" with his window down. I noted the van number and called the company's phone number to complain. The manager said that the company did not have a van with that number. Absolutely ridiculous. I had booked a shuttle for 3:30 am. Received my confirmation and was set. I had never done this before so I wanted to make sure that they would pick me up :) Called in to confirm, spoke with someone they confirmed. I even received 2 additional emails confirming they were aware. The 2nd email stated a change from 3:30 am to 4:30 am because they were not open. I stood outside and waited. Promptly at 4:30, I called and ask for my shuttle and the owner states that he has no room for me, he couldn't even tell if the reservation was for AM or PM, AND couldn't provide a refund till the next day. NO effort to accommodate me at all. Luckily there were lots of taxi's willing to take me to the airport. You would think the owner would be able to manage his business a little bit more efficiently. When I originally made my reservation for an SFO early morning flight, the dispatcher said the shuttle would arrive at 5am. The day of my flight, I got a call at 4:20am saying that the shuttle would be there in fifteen minutes. I complained, but I didn't put up too much of a fuss because I was up and ready. The dispatcher was apologetic, but it didn't change the fact that this could have really screwed me up had I not woken up as early as I did. This is not the sort of thing you want to deal with that early in the morning. Otherwise, the experience was good. Here's a tip if you don't use shuttle/car service often. Always call beforehand to make sure they didn't forget you! My husband is fancy, he takes car service to SFO. I prefer to save money. When I travel alone, I don't mind stopping for other passengers. It makes for a fun trip. In my experience, no matter how many pick ups, the trip has never been over 20 minutes more than usual. And I am one who likes to arrive at the airport with at 90 minutes to spare, but usually 2 hours. As long as you plan your time, call them the night before, double call in the morning of the pick up, you will enjoy saving money with shuttle services. read more

Honestly, if the car comes, you deserve 4 stars. I've experienced nightmare stories when the car you reserve doesn't show up. Airport Express gets 5 stars because not only did they come, they came on time (within 10 minutes give or take) and were super professional. I had originally booked with another company but after reading their yelp reviews (THANK GOD I DID) of 2.5 stars average, I decided to change last minute the night before Thanksgiving. It was like 9pm. My flight was at 705am. The airport express representative cheerfully helped me book a shuttle for 4:45am. They call you before the shuttle arrives. The driver is nice. He asks you what airline you're on. It only took 45 minutes to get to the airport after picking up 9 people total. Great experience. I would definitely use again! read more

Definitely worth the cost. It's your basic shuttle service, which means for me, get me to the airport on time for my flight and your golden in my book. This company is reliable and courteous. Showed up on time for my pick up and I was at the airport in 20-30min (they did pick up another 4 or 5 people). I don't mind sharing if its going to save me $20.00 it would take for a taxi. The only downside was the pick up from the airport, it took me 1 hour to get back to my apartment! TOO LONG! Our driver from SFO airport to the Marriott Marquis was dangerous, i.e. using the Candlestick exit to pass on the right, speeding like crazy and couldn't keep within a lane to safe his life (or ours). I honestly thought he was drunk. Our driver from the Marriott back to SFO (Gustavo) arrived 20 minutes late to pick us up because he didn't know where to to go... by the taxi stand on 4th by the doorman. Despite it being easy to book online, the actual pickup and shuttle service was a nightmare. When I called from the airport, I was told the driver would pick me up in 15-20 minutes. 30 minutes I called back. "He's close by, so just 5 minutes." 10 minutes later I called again. What gives?? The lady was nice but damn, I didn't want to start my vacation waiting 45 minutes for my ride. The driver apologized for being late at least. Airport Express is aces in my book! I have used BART in the past, but because my hotel was up in the Cow Hollow area, it was more time-effective to take the shuttle ($17 per pax). I called their reservation line as i was walking out of the secure area at the airport. I let them know what the name of my hotel was and gave them the number of people in my party. She gave me directions on where to find the shuttle (For Terminal 1 arrivals, Courtyard 1). We walked there straightaway and the van was just pulling in when we arrived. We loaded our bags and jumped in. We made one more pick-up and we were on our way to the city. We had a total of four people in the van. We stopped at the other party's hotel first and it took another four minutes to get to our. We paid by credit card and we were on our way. It took less than an hour from exiting the secure area to arrival at our hotel. Arrival was just as easy. I called the afternoon prior to our departure and they asked what time we wanted to be at the airport. Based off that time, they gave me an estimated pick-up time. Our driver actually showed up early! We ended up hitting up three other hotels for pick-ups and then we were on our way to the airport. It took just about an hour. If you have luggage and you don't want to lug it on BART and you don't mind sharing a van, I think these guys are a great option. I priced out the public transportation option and it was only about ten bucks. But it would have taken at least another 30 minutes to get to our location. If you're staying anywhere near or south of Market, it might be quicker to take BART. I'll use them again! read more

I've used this service twice and was very satisfied both times. The first time, I was lucky and accidentally ran into somebody else being picked up to go to the airport. They had room for me and I was ready to go at that exact moment, so it worked out perfectly. We picked up another person before heading over the airport, and my whole voyage took about 35 to 40 minutes. The next time I used this service was when I was coming back from the airport to my dorm building. I was the only person, which is apparently very common for the way back. This meant that it was just as fast a taxi, not counting the ten minutes it took for them to show up. More spacious too since I had the whole van to myself. The price ($16) is reasonable considering that taking a taxi would be about twice that in my case. If you live right near a BART station and aren't taking many bags, then that's probably the way to go. However, since the BART line to the airport is a little more than $5 from downtown, if you have to take a taxi to the BART too, then you might as well just use Airport Express. And if you have bags, then it's probably worth not having to lug them around. read more

I made reservations with this company to pick me up and I waited longer for this shuttle company than the time I was on my flight! This is the worse airport experience ever. The operator kept telling me the shuttle was coming but I waited 45 minutes and never saw one. They have the fewest number of shuttles that circle the airport. I ended grabbing another shuttle. There is a reason this company has such bad ratings. The only reason I made reservations is because the hotel recommended it. I'm going to let the hotel know that they are doing a huge disservice to their guests sending them to this company! Tip: don't make a reservation with them. I have to go all out and give them a 5 star. I have used the competitor (in blue vans) and my experience with this service just is a 5 star. First off Clyde was my shuttle driver and what an adorable and sweet man. 2nd I was picked up right away and we left the airport right away. He got me to my hotel within 35 mins of getting off my plane. Now it did not seem that busy and maybe it was a fluke but I know when it wasn't busy with the blue vans they were still 1 hour to 90 mins. I usually take a cab from site to airport but I am now more than willing to use this service as Clyde told me they are very good and diligent at getting people timely to the airport. read more

I took the Airport Express from the Santa Rosa airport to the San Francisco airport. I thought this was a good option for transportation between airports for the price. As I normally do, I chose to sit near the front of the bus. The driver made a couple of announcements and was a quite harsh to a couple of ladies who continued to talk. I understood his request for people to listen to his message but thought his delivery was overly abrupt and a bit rude- like scolding children. During the ride, I met a nice lady sitting across the aisle from me and we struck up a conversation. I was consciously using a low tone of voice to be respectful of others around us. However, the driver chose to call us out and ask us to stop talking because we were disturbing him and those around us. I am not an easily offended person by nature but his "scolding" tone was offensive and rude. I can assure you that our voices were not loud by any means! If you require your passengers to travel in silence, maybe you need to post that in your reservation materials. As an adult woman, I do not appreciate being scolded like a child to stop talking.
