I started looking on yelp for glass repair shops and Bill was the first one who replied and, in my opinion, the best one! I had another shop who replied but was only doing windshield replacements, and finally a third shop replied the day AFTER Bill fixed my windshield. Bill was extremely professional and skilled. He came out to service my windshield in just a couple days from my initial quote. He was on time, remained courteous, and worked quickly. After he was done, the rock chip was almost invisible. After a rock damaged both my windshield and the vehicle frame, I coordinated a repair involving a local dent specialist and your West Olympia branch. I worked with April to schedule a specific two-step process for 5/1/26: your technician was to remove the glass at 10:00 AM, allow the dent repair to take place, and return later that day to install the new windshield. I was explicitly told by April that payment would be required when the technician called on his way back for the final installation. The service I received was unacceptable for the following reasons: - Scheduling and Professionalism: The technician called me early, expressed frustration with his schedule, and arrived significantly later than the 11:00 AM time he game me. - Communication Failures: Despite having my contact information, the technician mistakenly believed I was a dealership. Later, he left the site without performing the work, claiming to the shop that payment was needed upfront--a direct contradiction to what was agreed upon with April. I was never called to provide payment, which I would have gladly done over the phone to avoid delays. - Lack of Accountability: When I attempted to resolve this, the local shop refused to let me speak with a manager. When I contacted the corporate office, I received no explanation, no apology, and no assistance. They just let me know someone should be in touch. I have not been contacted by anyone regarding this. This total lack of customer service, from the local technician to headquarters, is deeply concerning. Because Safelite chose to cease communication rather than resolve a problem of its own making, I cannot recommend your services to others. It was over 90 degrees and I was not about to let it spread, so the husband started calling to places around Olympia as we were nearing the city. The first quote was for a place in Chehalis that had no website and 0 reviews. $80. The second place had good reviews. They couldn't fit us in. We called Jesse and he said come on in. $40. Sold! It's a nice little shop just off the freeway (101 or 5, I can't remember). Jesse was helping another customer but got to us as quick as he could. Came out to check out the chip and immediately had his co-worker bring my car to the back to cool down. Jesse explained the process and what we could do to maintain the repair. He said it would take at least 25 minutes because the glass was hot and had to cool down. We were offered cold bottled water. We chilled out on the big sofa. It was a crappy situation to be there, but it turned out to just be a nice detour. The crack was fixed and you can hardly tell it's there. No sun shade for this window's future! We had them replace our windshield on our 99 Chevy Suburban 3/4/26. A rock had hit our windshield causing it to crack beyond repair, & we had told them there was a water leak by our rear view mirror. Upon picking up our car we noticed the windshield was no longer sitting flush & had nearly a 1/2 inch gap. And they left rust dust & dirt all over our dash, cd player, & gauges. They ensured us it was correct & if it leaked to bring it back as we have a lifetime warranty on the install. Within 1 hour of picking up our car it was leaking from the windshield in places it hadn't before due to the improper install. They told us to bring it back today at 10am & but we were only met with hostility. The male owner literally cussed my husband out refused to do the leak test threw our keys at my husband from across the room assaulting him, & told us to get out. My husband was calm the whole time. The female owner reluctantly stepped in & said she would do it while the male owner kept telling her not to. My husband asked if he could come back to watch her do the test & she angrily said no. So he watched her from the counter, while I watched her from parking lot as I had a direct view. She didn't even finish the leak test before she was slamming our car door into a ladder & it made us feel uncomfortable so my husband asked if he could have the keys back if she wasn't going to treat our vehicle with care. She started cussing him out telling us there's nothing wrong with their install & literally said, "if we didn't have a piece of shit car that's falling apart there wouldn't be an issue." She angrily came flying around the corner with our vehicle & got out cussing , yelling, & physically was up in my husband's face pointing fingers in his face, literally screaming at him. I walked over to try to calmly deescalate the situation & before I could even speak the male owner ran up to the door & locked us out. We had to call the police to assist & file a report. The officer even noted the gap was not appropriate. The owners REFUSED to let the officer watch the footage on their cameras, which he said people often do when they are in the wrong. They stole our money, giving us a bad install & refused to make it right, essentially voiding the lifetime guarentee they claim they have on all their work. When I booked it & asked if they guarantee their work Merle laughed & lied stating, "of course! We have a lifetime guarantee, the owner takes great pride in his work." They said everything they needed to to get our business but as soon as they had our vehicle they intentionally scammed us. They knew they did a bad install when they did the job & knew if they could say whatever they could to make us feel comfortable enough to pay & leave they wouldn't EVER have to make it right. We've already been told just based off of photos by 2 other local windshield repair businesses that their install is not only improper but an illegal install job requiring another windshield to be installed. We already scheduled an appointment to have their install inspected for documentation so we can file a complaint with the attorney general & a civil suit to get our money back since they refused to correct their improper install. Only a few days after that, while driving on the freeway, the entire piece flew off. A side molding strip also started bending the wrong way. A technician came to my house to try again and was completely stumped. He openly admitted that even their quality control manager didn't know how to fix it properly. They then asked us to bring the vehicle to their shop for a better look. Once my wife arrived, they suddenly decided the warranty no longer applied because of a rock chip (whose timing is unclear) and refused to cover the work. We were left driving without any molding strip at the top of the windshield -- a clear safety and quality failure after they already admitted they didn't know what they were doing. They won't spend the money to replace a roughly $100 molding piece, yet they expect customers to trust them with a critical safety component of the vehicle. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. There are plenty of local shops that do better work, stand behind their repairs, and cost less. This experience showed a complete lack of accountability and competence not to mention they're a United Kingdom based company. Save your money and support a local company that actually knows how to do the job, will fix their mistakes, and your money stays here in the community.
