Kind of provides the bare minimum to any of the Centurion Lounges i've been to, (i think this was once one before) but i was still thankful this is here and it accepts Amex holders. It is spacious, hardwood floors, lots of natural light. They had mimosas which were good, and simple breakfast foods like bagels, cream cheese, oatmeal, cottage cheese, yogurt, also a coffee/espresso machine. For lunch time they had plenty of salads, salami and turkey meat, with a bunch of snack toppings, olives, sun dried tomatoes, veggies, a fruit bowl, soup for a bit, yeh but i think it ran out quickly. I still enjoyed staying here instead of the terminal gate esp bc my flight got delayed by an hr or so. I had to come all the way from terminal 1 tho which was inconvenient but still worth. Disappointed. In case management reads this I can give you some pointers based on other airport lounges I have been to and really appreciated! 1. You need protein choices. This place is loaded with carbs and sugar choices. The only protein option on the menu was a chicken Cesar wrap which was pure arugula and dressing. Where's the chicken? 2. Adding choices of fresh fruit. Not necessarily pre cut but maybe some oranges, apples, grapes, bananas are all good options. 3. Adding hot items. American Express advertisement says there are hot items to order here. There are none. See photo of menu. Please inform American Express so they can update their records. No hot food here. Maybe this will come later after the remodel? 4. Good things: open space, airy and bright. Love the fact there is a ladies and mens restroom. Not all lounges have them. Pleasant experience. The food choices is very lacking. Recently flew out of this terminal and was able to stop by this lounge for a little bit of time while waiting for my flight. The whole place was super clean and well organized. The floor to ceiling windows is super nice too, love the view. They do have a nice espresso coffee machine that makes fancy coffee drinks. The only downside is the food was not good at all. There was only some bagels and and chips. Alcohol drinks are not included. They did give me a $10 voucher to purchase food and alcoholic drinks. That's was helpful. Although some food are only available during certain times and I couldn't get most items in the morning hours. Service was very nice. read more

Nice lounge if you are going thru San Diego airport. I had a 3 hour layover and had to walk from terminal 1 to terminal 2 to access this lounge but it's totally worth the walk. Currently they are operating with limited hours, close at 1 pm. They offer a decent continental breakfast bagels, yoghurt, muffins, pastries, cereal, coffee machine that makes all kids of coffee, cappuccino is awesome! For Amex platinum card holders, you are allowed 2 guests plus card holder and each guest is given $10 voucher to use towards food and premium beverages. They have a good selection of complimentary wine (sparkling, Chardonnay and Cabernet) and beer. The sparkling Brut is great. They sell wraps and salad after 10.30 AM, so I could not use my vouchers towards food but I could splurge on some good duckhorn Chardonnay and hubby enjoyed old fashioned. I've been coming here since 2017 for literally every flight I've ever caught out of Terminal 2 at SAN. Overall, it's a decent lounge to kill time at especially if you're an AMEX holder. They used to offer a $10 food and beverage credit, but that has since gone away. There are two espresso machines and usually one of them has an issue in my experience. The breakfast is not bad, the equivalent of a continental breakfast at a basic hotel, centered mostly around waffles, bagels, and some fruit, yogurt and oatmeal. Capacity is small and it is normally overcrowded during peak travel season. Front desk service is good while food restock and table cleaning is subpar. On my most recent experience, 10/23/2023, the lounge was overcrowded and there were more guests than seats. No tables were cleaned over a 30 minute period, the food was half gone and the staff said they weren't restocking some items for about another 45 minutes. The bathroom was also a bit of a mess. Overall, not a bad lounge if you already have complimentary access, and there really aren't other options at SAN. read more

I have travelled the world and have to say this is the worst lounge ever. The folks checking you in are nice and friendly and same with the bartenders. But that's where it ends. This place is crowded because British Airways, American, Japan air, Lufthansa and priority pass holders all use this lounge. The food is mediocre and nothing special. The restrooms are always dirty. We sat at the bar for 10 minutes and decided it was better to walk around the airport and find a quiet spot then sit here. San Diego airport needs a better lounge. read more

Not a bad lounge from the quick ten minutes I was in there. I have a Priority Pass and I know they typically allow one guest. I asked them to check but they said they couldn't and I would have to call Priority Pass, which was really annoying. But I don't think it's Airspace Lounge's fault - i think that's just the nature of PP. I had three people with me and I didn't want to ditch them and just stay in the lounge, so I just went into grab some snacks for us all. They give you a $10 voucher, which you can use on drinks at the bar or special food items. But, they don't start serving food until after 10:30 am and I was there at around 7:30. So I just ended up getting three bottles of water (worth $3 each) and grabbed some muffins and chips. They also had bagels, Hostess donuts, some fruit, and of course a coffee/tea station. The lounge is located in terminal 2, and so was my gate but it was all the way at the other end and the walk was pretty far, so just be mindful of that. Still, I'm thankful there was a lounge because lounges for domestic flights are hard to come by. read more

Maybe it was slim pickings because I arrived 30 min prior to closing, but I was not impressed with the spread ( or lack there of) at this lounge. When I arrived at 945 P.M., there were cookies, a few cheese cubes, and a few apples out for the taking. The coffee and tea station was stocked.. offering French vanilla creamers, chamomile tea, and chai teas. I was offered a $10 dining credit to the lounge as a perk of my Amex card. I spent this on an $11 glass of wine which came out to $11.18. I tried to pay cash but this lounge only takes card.. which isn't an inconvenience but just something to note. All the macarons in other yelp photos looked tempting. To my dismay though, each macaron is 2.25$, and rather small. Overall, it's a clean lounge. I will definitely come here again at a more reasonable hour and see if the spread has expanded. I'm also tempted to try the food off the menu! read more

I am very disappointed with the San Diego airspace lounge. Having traveled all over the world and experiencing different Clubs and other airlines lounges this one just does not even come close. The entrance is cold and not welcoming. It is brightly lit and has uncomfortable seating. It is difficult to find a comfortable spot to work. The wrap I ordered was soggy and did not taste good. The snacks are minimal, some machines that dispense a combo of pretzels and nuts, some fruit, some cheese. The service is spotty, sometimes they acknowledge you and other times you will stand and wait while they talk to others. Time is precious when you are connecting flights, so I found the lack of customer service unprofessional. This lounge needs a facelift and some customer service training, as well as a menu change. Tried again and even worse. The person taking the money used same gloves to make food. Floor was dirty. Cheese was scraps. read more

Nothing like a typical lounge experience. Packed with people, few seats, not a relaxing space at all. Each time we fly internationally, we always repeat the same storyline hoping for a different ending. Show-up, check-in prior to realize how packed and unpleasant it is to wait in this so called lounge. We end-up walking to the open space in T2 and get our food and drinks from the general area which is 1000 times more enjoyable. This lounge could learn from other airlines. read more

There are a few things that I find myself not exactly a pro at. I don't really know airport lounges. It took me a while to figure out as a permanent gold member, you can use star alliance gold lounges like the Senator lounge in DC. As an Amex Platinum card member you can get into lounges beyond Centurion and PriorityPass, such as this one. Thankfully for every damsel in distress there is a knight in shining armor to guide her through airport confusion courtesy of the Point's Guy's abbreviated introduction course. While I was still in uber talking to my colleague, I got a text from a friend who was telling me where to go after arriving at the airport. "By gate 33. Very nice. Like an European lounge." The text message says. It did not tell me that Amex Platinum members can use it. He had assumed that I knew. I figured I'd have to pay $20 to get in but I would be wrong. It's free for Amex Platinum cardholders, of which I'm a loyal fan. European lounges are often white background, clean lines, sparse, simple, functional and efficient. Except for first class or the Senator lounge at Frankfurt. But this is more like a typical small sized intra Europe lounge, but bigger and brighter (because Americans like things big and bright). $10 gift card towards purchases. A glass of champagne seemed appropriate plus a macaron, which set you back exactly $10. Lots of power outlets. Good coffee machine. Ice water and soda water. cheeses and veggies. Perfect, really, as I am on a carb free sugar free diet. Internet speed is decent. AT&T cell coverage not. I worked until the said friend was leaving to catch his Virgin while I waited for my United. We kissed goodbyes like the Europeans would do. We were quiet like a mouse just like the Europeans. I continued with my work and conference calls until it's time to go. One of my favorite lounges in the San Diego airport. Airspace has it all, view of the runway, wifi, great seats, great menu items, showers, and so much more. The Amex Platinum will get you in for free and includes a dining credit to use. This has absolutely changed the way I travel. I never wait at the gate, I always hit the lounge, way more comfortable, and why wouldn't you want free food (or drink) before you travel. Staff is always very accommodating. True VIP service. This lounge is great! Come in via Amex platinum and you get $10 per person to purchase drinks or food from the menu. Upon arrival to SAN, I swung by with a friend and we redeemed our $20 for some green smoothies! It was just enough, because we filled ourselves up with the toasted bagels and cups of espresso. On our departure day, we came to the lounge in the evening and used the $20 for some meats (coppa and salami) while pairing it with an assortment of cheese, tomatoes, celery sticks, carrots, and saltine crackers. Not to mention, we also ordered a chicken salad wrap with a side of potato chips. After living all these years on SD, I can finally check off an SD airport lounge off my list of lounges to try. Slim pickings, but I'll take what I can get! Clean interior with plenty of seating due to the later time, no doubt. Some of the outlets weren't working, but there's outlets at every seat, so there's plenty that work. There "free" snacks were pretty limited, such as a some cheeses, saltine crackers, carrots, two cookies, limited tea, etc. Amex Plat provides a $10 voucher per guest, but bear in mind that the limited menu was average. We chose the breakfast sandwich and the charcuterie board, which were alright, but not worth paying for if required. Overall, decent lounge if you're not flying Delta, as the DL Sky Clubs are nicer. If i can give a zero i would. Its just suboptimal to my expectation and as compared to all other lounges i have been to. They have a little area for food that has bagel, muffin and nuts... And thats all the food on the dining area. Granted they give u a 10 dollar credit for food... I wanted to order their wraps and they didn't have anymore wraps... So the server said i can still order it though and just have the insides of the wrap... BUT they also ran out of lettuce. For an international airport, they really didn't not live up to expectation. Also, when you go in you have to order from the bartender. She was alone so the line was pretty long. Really sad. I will not ever pay to go in this lounge. Super worthless. Not swanky by any means but definitely a pleasant little lounge that provides a sweet spot to sip a drink and enjoy some plane watching. They have showers which is surprising given SAN isn't a huge airport. Still nice to have the option to freshen up if you need to. I imagine business travelers coming in for a day of work might appreciate the amenity. They have upped their game a bit now offering some cheese cubes and veggies for free. Not anything to lose your mind over but again, better than nothing right? Amex Platinum members get $10 each, and you can bring a gues who will also get $10. They load it on a card and you can use it for snacks or drinks off of the menu. They do have complimentary wine/beer if you ask. I used my credit so I didn't find out if the house plonk was any good. Once I got a breakfast sandwich here that was heated in the microwave at such a hot temp it took forever to eat. Seriously, the thing was lava. Service is ok. It depends on how busy it gets. If you are amex you might want to get in earlier then usual because they do cap amex guests. I was turned away like a stray dog once. I had to do the terminal walk of shame. The one thing that is a true stand out at this lounge is probably the best bartender I've ever seen working at an airport lounge. People were lining up for his martinis. When he started shaking that drink it was like hearing the sound of my mothers voice. Otherwise, it's a pretty basic lounge with a very limited food selection. The airspace Lounge located at San Diego International Airport just around the corner from gate 33. I believe it is open to anybody that wants to pay a $35 entry fee or free entry with an American Airlines Admirals Club membership or American Express Platinum Card. I entered using my American Express Platinum Card and was given a cash card worth $10 to purchase food or alcoholic beverages. At the self serve complimentary station, there were oranges, apples, cookies and the usual snack mix. It was also a self-serve soda fountain gun and coffee / espresso machine. The bar served hot and cold foods such as yogurt and fruits, croissant breakfast sandwiches, soup, and my favorite the antipasto platter. The antipasto platter head two kinds of meats, cheese, bread, and marinated beans. It was an $8 item but free with the cash card. The lounge also has a shower and provides a very nice amenity kit. The new Airspace Lounge at the San Diego Airport, a joint venture between American Airlines and Airspace, is a comfortable place to hang out while waiting for flights. I recently used my US Airways ticket to get free admission, even though US Airways isn't actually American Airlines just yet. So this was a bit of a 'work-around", because technically, US Airways (if it wasn't being absorbed by AA) shouldn't have gotten me into the lounge. It was nearly empty on the day, probably because I was catching a mid-morning flight to Phoenix. I suspect that its a lot busier first thing in the morning and also in the early evening, around 4:00. The lounge feels a bit sterile for me. One easy fix would be to install lower lights and warm up the place with a fresh paint job using warmer colors. But I can't really complain, what with the free snacks, coffee, tea, etc. It is better than the old AA Admiral's club, for sure. Of course, there is a full bar and you can order food (a little pricey) at the bar, which is convenient. read more

However, there are more qualities that justifies the review. The Airspace lounge offers a wide variety of snacks, cookies, chex-mix, as well as fruits and vegetables (cherry tomatoes, apples, celery). With the $10 gift card, you can exchange it for a mixed drink or a wrap or a Mediterranean spread w/grape leaves, pickled vegetables and a pita-like wrap. Of course, if you are used to the unlimited free drinks at Centurion lounges, then this place may not be able to compare, but hey, comfy chairs and a great view is better than sitting around without a power outlet or free food, right? read more

On my last trip I had the option to upgrade my outbound flight.  I decided to do so as a treat to myself, additional comfort during my flight, and for the access to the lounge.  I have never visited an airport lounge in all my years of travelling so I was a little intrigued to experience one. The lounge is located in terminal B where the new extension and original terminal meet.  When you walk in you are greeted by staff and are asked for your boarding pass.  At the time, I did not realize it but depending on your airline, the amenities offered are different airline to airline.  Drinks and food are free with entrance.  British Airlines amenities included drinks and simple fare such as sandwiches.   Cookies, cheeses, and coffee are also available. Drinks include soda, beer, and limited types of cocktails.  I had a beer, a sandwich, and some cookies.  They 2 ballast point beers on tap.  The sandwich was basic but good.  Cookies were pretty good.  They have chairs and tables with outlets and reading material available.  Decor is neutral but plenty of natural light with a nice view of the tarmac. It was a nice experience.   Well worth it if you arrive early at the airport. read more

I am an Amex Platinum card holder but since there isn't a Centurion Lounge here and no results turned up when I searched for lounges under Priority Pass I assumed there was no lounge access for me. So I proceeded to sit near my gate for the last 20 minutes and frustrated I have another hour to spare before boarding begins. That was until I did an "airport bar" search in Yelp (you're the best) this showed up and in reading the reviews I realized, wait, I can come! It was an amazing surprise and I basically power walked here in excitement. You're given a $10 card upon entry that you can use towards alcoholic drinks/food/snacks that the lounge otherwise charges for but there is also a limited selection of complimentary beer/wine you can ask for at the bar as well as free Peet's coffee, soft drinks and some light refreshments (think crudités). The free Chardonnay I'm sipping on it pretty good if you ask me! The best thing about this lounge is it's not crowded at all! It's a Sunday afternoon and I imagined there would be a lot of travelers leaving SD so this was unexpected. The space is well maintained and well lit with floor to ceiling windows on multiple sides.
