For how busy it was on Saturday, the busiest day of Comic Con, service was still really good! Our server was really attentive and came in to check on us periodically. I think my issue was the food, specially the wings. Tbh, I'm not sure I'm a fan of the bbq/grilled style wings. Unlike regular deep fried wings that come out crunchy, the skin of the wings felt rubbery. While the sauces were good (we got mango habanero and Korean bbq), the texture threw me off. The tater tots were good and the queso was alright. If we were to return, we wouldn't get the wings again.

Came here before a game, and the food was good and came out pretty fast. We got boneless chicken and they were cooked well, juicy and not dry. The tater tots were also good, i got the loaded ones. Server was fast, attentive despite the complete chaos around us. Since it was before a padres game the bar was very lively.

Dear diary Came here before the padres game and it was packed. It was loud and lively with multiple tv showing different games. We were let in to roam and find our own seats - luckily we found some but you can also do reservations for tables (which I recommend) I wanted to try the caulifornia wings and let me tell you it was goooood. It was crispy with a softness inside. The honey mustard grilled wings were a tad bit disappointing. The flavor wasn't up to par for me. As you know it's downtown, so if you want a parking come prepared to fight for a parking spot or park somewhere else and take the trolley.

(https://bubssandiego.com/food-menu) Here's the menu ! Because the QR code on the outdoor table did not work. When you click the link it will take you to the drink menu but on the far top right you can click the drop down and the menu for food would pop up. Anyways the food is your basic bar food nothing spectacular but pretty decent if you're looking for a quick drink and meal. It is self seating, we found a table out doors with the sun beaming on us but one of the security guards was so kind and he popped open an outdoor umbrella and made our outdoor seating pleasing. Over all food is mid, drinks are good, and recommend this spot as a little pregame stop by.

What's my first time here I have the Pittsburgh tater tots. It was very good. Service is great. Ambience is great right next to Petco Park. I would highly recommend this place. If you've never been here before definitely won't be my last time. Coming to Bubs at the park.

My husband and I , We stopped by for a quick drink and bite this Saturday afternoon . Great sports bar lots of TV and coolest bathroom for the women very unique decor . Our bartender was nice and gave us some padres vs dodger game day stories and super close to the stadium which is perfect for pregame on your guys game day. Food : I had the lemon pepper wings and they were Grilled 10/10

Nothing wrong with the usual sports bar grub, but I was having a sweets craving and therefore happy to see dessert on the menu at this local institution! While there was a bit of server mix-up regarding who was covering our table, the Triple Play Brownie Sundae (triple chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream, caramel and chocolate sauces, candied walnuts, and whipped cream) did indeed hit the spot. This friendly community space was well-attended but not overly crowded on a weekend afternoon - a happy medium!

This is an absolute must-stop whenever I'm downtown! I love their tater tots they're crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and perfectly salted. The boneless chicken wings are crusted just right and are meaty with every bite. We tried the buffalo, mango habanero, sweet chili, and Korean BBQ sauces. My top two were the mango habanero, which had the perfect balance of heat and sweetness, and the classic buffalo. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to for game days! Side note: they I.D. us at the door, but we did see a child come in and eat, so I'm not entirely sure what their policy is haha

Bub's is an experience. Located behind PetCo Park, it has one of my favorite chicken wing flavors, the Archie. The wings themselves are delicious and cooked perfectly with a crunchy outside. We tried some other happy hour offerings and they were fantastic as well. The shotgun shells were pretty good. Usually I can only eat one, but I was able to smash 3 of these. The queso was also very good and worth it, but the wings are king. The service is solid and the ambiance during a Padres game in electric. It's usually pretty easy to get a seat here, but if you're coming on game day, come early!

Went to have a great time w my friends unfortunately chose this place bald guy questioned my friend due to being a heavier weight in the past, after that he proceeded to talk about it with other customers at tables and then sticking his tongue out at us and crazy laughing whilst we were waiting for our uber to take our business else where (This is the man heading to bald-ation nation questioning ppl ab their weight instead of worrying ab the breasts his body is pouring out)

First time here and I am amazed! Sat at the bar which is wide open to the public! TV's everywhere and all sorts of sports on! Very lively crowd and the bartenders make you feel at home! Lights has the tomato bisque was delicious! Very creamy and smooth with a slight sweet hint to it, I loved it! My husband had the kale salad which was phenomenal including the vinaigrette dressing he had with it! Lots on the menu I will be back when I'm in town!

Cool little Bar right next to Petco Stadium . Came here to watch some football sat at the bar. Everyone was friendly there the ambulance was loud, which was awesome. I ordered some wings and they tasted pretty good. I ate them all next time. I'm in town. I'm definitely gonna stop by again.

Food is adequate. There are really limited options for vegetarians. Basically tots, grilled cheese, or kale salad. The ambience is very sports bar style. We had a large party and they refused to seat us together even though there were very few other patrons in the place. They joined some tables but said they could not join others because they could not block one of the pathways even though there was another clear pathway available. When it came to the bill, we were willing to pay as one check but asked if we could have each person's share on an itemized receipt since we were expensing it individually to our employer. Instead, the server came back and gave us a single copy of our receipt without anyone's alcoholic drinks. One positive was the portion sizes were huge so we all had leftovers. However the food was not great so I didn't even eat my leftovers. Overall, I would rate this place as mediocre and would probably not come back.

Note the EMPTY WATER CUP. Food was okay though

Ask the Community - Bub's at the Ballpark

    Is Bub's dog friendly?

Yes! The outside patio area is huge and dog-friendly.

    Mexico vs Argentina on Saturday?

Yes! They will put on whatever game you want!

Do they have mimosa specials on Sunday?

Not really, I would say that you can find way better deals for mimosas at places like Half Door Brewing or Boot legger. Both of those are bottomless mimosas places.

Does anyone know if Bub's is open during covid19 for take out?

From what I have heard and seen they are currently closed.

Are kids aloud during the day?

Is this bar a dog friendly bar?

They have a deck that is definitely dog friendly! I take my pup there all the time!

Is the bar dog friendly- like on the outdoor patio?

Yup! Outdoor patio is definitely dog friendly!

Is this Bubs also a Steelers bar like Bubs at the beach is?

Not sure if it is Steelers bar. But I think this bar host all sports.

    Do they allow children?

    Yes

Great recommendations, super genuine and fun, had the best energy and was CONSTANTLY checking in on us; however, a couple of the other workers could have been a little bit more open with communication. We were sitting against the window at the high top wraparound bar tables (feels like an extension of the bar), so the bar is easy to order from and was our go to as soon as we arrived. The bartender took our order, but was standoffish as if we were doing something foreign or a big "no no". Finally the server in charge of our area told us that the bartenders are in charge of the bar and there are other servers for all the other tables/zones. If we were told that from the beginning, we would have made sure to follow the order of the place and order from the correct server. A few of us truly felt bad, but now we know when we go in next time what to expect. Barleymash is always a great time, so we always want to make sure we are doing it right! I truly recommend sitting anywhere else but that window/wall on a packed night, but sometimes you have to deal with what you are lucky enough to get!

The amazing views of the bay were nothing short of spectacular, bringing a serene beauty that rivals the finest star systems.
