    2nd bite, 1st Waffle Dog...
    Joey M.

"I don't wanna get a movie hot dog! [in tears] I want a Papaya King hot dog! - Cosmo Kramer, Seinfeld da Scene: visiting for a few weeks and headed to Kakaako Farmers for breakfast and gifts to bring home. Tucked into the 1st corner when you cross to the 2nd side is the Aiwi Waffle truck... as I scan the menu, I see Waffle Dog and my mind spins into nostalgia. I immediately order one up and while waiting thoughts of KC Drive Inn Kapalulu memories flood back. Countless nights spent cruising Waikiki ending with a Waffle Dog and Ono Ono Shake in the parking lot with friends. Anticipation... da Grub: Harmony is my best description. Crisp yet tender waffle hugs the all beef frank closely, all enveloping, almost like it was a dipped corn dog. Yet it had all the score marks and texture of a waffle! The frank itself is juicy, plump perfection, semi-med grind showed little glistening pockets... savory perfection! The Honey Mustard took it to another level, bringing some sweetness and tang at the same time. da Service: They made me feel like a calabash cousin, and while chatting found a California connection as they spent some time living in the East Bay! I actually rushed away to catchup with my family and took my 1st bite walking away... my knees almost buckled it was so good! After we circled the market I made my daughter go back with me to grab another one and take some pics... they are SO NICE! Bay Area peeps show some love, you must check out this Aiwi Waffle Dog on your next visit to Oahu! Found them at Kakaako Farmers, and am already planning a visit to their storefront in Waikiki!!

Incredible waffles! My hubby and I had the waffles with sliced strawberries, blueberries and raspberries with whipped cream! They were delicious. The restaurant is located above a small food court. It has a nice balcony area. My husband has celiac and loved that these waffles were not only gluten free but tasted amazing! The dress is casual, atmosphere is fun w/upbeat music, great for hanging out and playing games but no WiFi for studying.

Super friendly service. Located on the second floor of this building. Outdoor seating with a nice view. The waffle dog was very tasty, especially with their house honey mustard sauce. The cold brew was tasty too- I should've stirred it up a lot more before because of the maple syrup sits on the bottom. The whipped cream was very tasty

Amazing! Everything is gluten free and so delicious! My 7 year old is a waffle lover and said they are better than any gluten waffle! Wonderful service! Will come back to this gem

I love mochi waffle anything and this has got to be hands down the BEST waffle place I've been to on island. I got their banana mac nut waffle, their banana lumpia waffle and their house cold brew. Delicious! Prices may seem steep, but trust me you can taste the quality in the Ingredients here. I feel like I'm not even that big of a foodie to be able to tell quality of honey, but when I say this honey is different!! It totally is. I don't know how to describe it other than it tastes expensive. The workers are so nice and friendly here , they helped give me recommendations on what's good and I love that they have outdoor seating for you to enjoy everything. Highly recommend!

Saw the is truck during the Saturday Kaka'ako market and immediately thought in my head "Waffle Dog". I remember as a kid in the early 90's visiting my Uncle on the island, he introduced a place (KC's) known for their waffle dogs. Seeing this on Aiwi menu instantly got me in nostalgic mode and had to try it. It was delicious!

We were lucky enough to stumble in here on the day of their soft opening. They are on the second floor of the Ohana Hale building, with a lovely space overlooking the park. Mr. M tried the waffle dog and the banana wafflelumpia. Both were really good. The owners are great. I hope today is the first day of a wildly successful venture!

Absolutely phenomenal GF waffles. I love the consistency and texture--the mochi makes it a little chewy. The owner came up with an amazing recipe. Only wish the coconut cream was dairy free so I could've tried it! Also, the girl working, Eva, was super sweet and friendly.

Happened upon this truck tucked in the corner at Kakaako Farmer's Market on Saturday and couldn't just walk past Banana Lumpia meets Mochi Waffle, y'all W H A T? One order comes with 2 for $14 Brother taking orders recommended adding whip cream, coconut custard, and honey. Was intrigued by the idea of Gluten Free and organic waffles. I normally don't like Gluten free things because you can taste the difference - NOT these though! Absolutely delicious. We got the Berry Medley and loved it. It came with Maple Syup on the side, but didn't need it, waffle was tasty and chewy without it.

Very Berry Mochi Base Waffle with Ube Custard (gluten free!)
    Han N.

I came shortly after they opened, and they were very busy, but so friendly and gracious. I love that they have a mochi base option since I'm gluten free and everything is made with so much care. I got the Very Berry with Ube Custard and it was so good! I didn't even need the maple syrup. I also appreciated that it wasn't overly sweet. I need to go back to try the other flavors!

Make sure you go up to the second floor to try out this little gem. The service was amazing. The food was fantastic and the vibes were 10 out of 10. The fresh pineapple juice really complimented the food and the atmosphere, while sitting on the patio ppl watching. Will definitely be back!

We came around 1:00 PM on Sunday, and the woman taking our order was very rude and impatient. Her attitude made us feel completely unwelcome. I really don't understand why a restaurant would allow this kind of customer service. While we were standing off to the side waiting for our food, she even told us to move outside and wait under the hot sun. Other customers nearby were also commenting that it felt like this place only cared about takeout orders and didn't seem to care much about the experience of customers who were actually there. I hope the owner sees this review and takes the service issue seriously. We were excited to come here, especially right after arriving in Hawaii, but the experience was very disappointing.

The fish was perfectly crispy with fresh slaw and really creamy sauces. The tortillas for the tacos tasted very fresh too, which made them even better. Both entrées came with lemon wedges that added a nice bright touch. The fish and chips were great and the fries were perfectly crisp. I still think about the crème brûlée. The texture and caramelized top were spot on. Portions were generous as well. We were staying at a nearby resort so it was an easy walk for us. The service was good, although we came when there was not much of a line. The truck is located in a lot with several other food trucks so it is easy to find. I cannot speak to parking since we walked. There are a couple of benches in front where you can sit and enjoy your food, and the truck sits under a huge tree which gives some nice shade from the heat. The vegan sour cream is so creamy, thr coleslaw is perfectly tangy and crunchy, and the vegan fish is delightful. My husband got the chicken tacos which were hot, in contrast to the fish tacos. They had avocado and a green sauce and we also liked these though the fish were our favorite. The hibiscus lemonade was lovely and refreshing also. The service here is very fast. We basically ordered and then looked around at the other truck menus and by that time our food was ready! Tried it here one day but it's so hard since there are so many places in Stix to go to. Tried the duck soba and wasn't that impressed, the broth was really good but it was also $30 for soba and a few pieces of duck. The duck was also a little tough. Soba was a little too soft for my liking but really enjoyed the broth. They had some items on happy hour so got the takoyaki for $5. We also got a really small bowl of curry rice $10, didn't think that was worth it but there were not many items for kids, no children's menu. Curry tsuke with soba was served cold with a hot (temperature) curry dipping sauce with onion and thin sliced pork $23 something different that you don't normally see. Not sure if I'd go back, with all the other choices nearby. Also $30 for soba seems a little $$$. They also charge 3% for using credit cards.

It was the worst bland chewy ribeye we've ever had. Unfortunate it was really expensive for such a horrible piece of disappointing meat too! They can do better. Seriously. We also got the chicken skewer, it had some flavor and was alright, like a 3/5 versus a 0/5 for the ribeye skewer. Both waste of money, stick with the soba.
