This place is where Pho Pho used to be. Besides Pho they also serve ramen. The Pho: I don't know if it's the same owner as Pho Pho, but AJ's is definitely an improvement over the previous place. Decent-sized portions and the flavor is okay, but not amazing. The Ramen: I ordered the miso pork ramen. It was okay. The noodles were whatever, but the broth made it a bit better. The ramen was not beast. Overall the menu as a whole is a bit pricier than you would find pretty much anywhere else around here. All Pho restaurants in the area are about $2 cheaper than AJ's, but it's not like AJ's is the best around here. The ramen and pho were around $9.50~ Workers were very kind. Throughout the meal they would pop up and ask if I needed anything to make my meal more beast. I feel like most Korean Pho restaurants don't do this often so it was nice seeing that here. read more

I had to wait for a while to write the review for this place. The food was average and needs an improvement. Their bowl makes the portion looks so small but it actually isn't that bad. But both my husband and I were a bit disappointed when we received our dishes because the portion looked so small. I had Japanese Ramen and it was just a ok. Didn't like their Chashu. Maybe I am too spoiled with the real Chashu I had in Japan or from popular Ramen places here. Pho was also just a ok. Broth wasn'r rich and tasted watered down. I am not saying food is bad but I am just saying it could be better. I added one star for their service tho. Server was sweet and friendly. Food came out quickly. There isn't any good pho place near La Crescenta so this place will be my choice if I want noodle in town. read more

My friends and I were looking for a place to eat and as usual, we never know where to go. Since it was cold, i recommended them Pho, which they've never tried before and ended up looking around for one. We ended up agreeing to going here because it was the only one that looked good to us. When we went inside, the place looks clean, the atmosphere was very nice and the restaurant was just very aesthetically pleasing to me. The customer service was great and i can tell that they really care about their customers. The pho there is a killer to come back for!! It was great value and the portions were very generous! First visit today and it won't be the last Steamed dumplings with kimchi inside were pretty big and quite tasty! Veggie Ramen in regular broth was hearty and delicious. The veggies were not overcooked but there could have been a little more of them. Spicy Seafood Ramen was apparently very good... my hubby polished off the whole bowl. We ordered kids (plain) pho for the kiddo. Not much can be wrong with plain pho but the Noodles were clumped together when served. There's nothing I despise more than a overrated restaurant that turns out to be just that. Price is what you pay and value is what you're supposed to get but not here. No way, No how. At over $10 for a bowl of rice noodles and $9 for 2 summer rolls the word price gouging comes to mind. Granted it's located at an offbeat plaza next to the freeway with not another restaurant within 1/4 mile radius...the quality of the food vs the price still just doesn't make sense here. Large $10 bowel had barely any meat in it, served luke warm in a large bowl. Hmmm... I'm not a local here and would say that if I was... I would not come to this pho noodle house. First they greeted us out of the door and told us our girl is not allowed to come in with rollerblades. Ok. That's fine, we can change into her shoes. No problem. And smiling at the old lady, we proceeded inside to seat. She wouldn't allowed us to sit at a sunny 6 top because we are 4. I told her... there is no one here... it's 1:45pm. She said... u never know... there might be a party of 6 coming (hoping). I said... alright then... we'll sit not in the aisle. Now onto ordering our food. We wanted just 3 phos, brisket & tripe only. And some slices of fish cakes for our kids. She said... fish cakes, expensive. I charge u $25 each. Lol. What's is going on here. We are customers, of course we pay for what we'll get. However our pho came with 3 pieces of small briskets each and their broth is salty. I feel like from the beginning of this dining experience was negative. And it all went downhill from there. I understand that things are getting expensive, but to be a restaurant owner and stating that obvious case to customers is so turned off. This restaurant is just downright cheap and not tasty. Man if I could give zero stars for customer services I would, I've been religiously purchasing Pho and other very tasty items from the menu, for 2 years now, with more than cheerful customer service, So without further due I am very sad and disappointed at my experience with an older male employee which I presumed to be the owners husband , whom I had many previous encounters that were very top of the line quality, regarding customer service skills, not the case today 01/21/2022 at 2:30 pm, i experienced very rude/yelling man who was very upset about a charge that I felt was a little excessive for the item , I asked for that said item to be removed from my order and he felt above and beyond upset to yell and say why and questioning me also stating maybe I shouldn't come back which was very very rude and appalling to hear for what a side noodle, I'm a paying/ tipping customer whom never experienced any such issues at this establishment, well you can count myself and my family out of this place , DO BETTER AJ Noddle! Edit: Wow this is your response ?? Your establishment is more than likely racist against black people, from what I understand now, I simply stated that I never paid $5 for a side noodle and to get yelled at by an older male , and bad stares from the older lady, once again for a SIDE white rice NOODLE , that you guys could have maybe gave at a DISCOUNT seeing how your "WORKING SO HARD" , I've been a returning customer that has NEVER gave problems! I've been coming here for years and love the ramen. I've been home with a sick toddler for a few days and nothing better than soup. Picked up 2 pork ramens and 1 pho for the little guy. Drove home, fed clingy whining runny nose little man. Went to make myself my delicious pork ramen and no pork. Not a big deal, send the hubby back to get it. Okay, this place is a hidden gem! As other Yelpers have mentioned, this place is clean, family-owned (which I 100% support), and overall tasty. Visited from NYC and my close friends who live in Glendale were raving about their spicy ramen. When we were seated, we were pleasantly surprised by the variety of food choices. I got the spicy beef ramen, my friend got their rare steak pho with chicken added (small extra charge, but definitely worth it since they give you more than enough extra chicken), and we shared their beef fried rice. Very, very satisfied with the generous portions and the food quality! Everything we ordered was delicious, perfectly seasoned, and flavorful. My ramen was indeed spicy, not salty (ramens in the east coast is so salty for me) so I was pleasantly surprised with AJ's rich broth. I also tried my friend's pho, and the noodles were cooked to perfection, broth was perfect, and portions were more than generous. Beef fried rice was so good too-ratio of rice, meat, and vegetables were perfectly balanced. We were also surprised with the huge portions for the price. Lastly, service was top notch. Our waitress was a sweet lady who was very accommodating. It's a cute, little restaurant owned by extremely sweet couple. First time going here today. I will say hands down best pho broth I've had. All the broths are chicken based but it's delicious when you add in the sauce and lime basil etc. The only thing I could say wasn't so great was the chicken in the pho. It was dry. Other than that, the house dumplings are freshly made and are very good. We will be back for sure. Thank you. Oh and to the couple that was fighting with the owners over seating, get a life and grow up and act like adults, especially because there were other children around it's unacceptable to cause a scene like what they did.
