Ramen was good. Got spicy miso and my friend got tonkatsu. Parking can be a little tricky because the place is small and it shares its spots with other businesses.

Yum! So glad to have stumbled upon this place on yelp. The place is cozy, and there is a very small parking garage lot shared among others in the plaza. Also street parking. The portions are a bit smaller than expected for the price, the toppings (bamboo, wood ear) were sparse, and a bit on the saltier side, but the ramen is filling and full-bodied flavorful! They have egg sando that I'll have to try next time!

Came down from Griffith, Observatory, and found this lovely gem through Yelp. The ratings did not lie! Great selection. Food was great. Friendly staff. Great prices!

Oh my I don't know where to start. This cute little ramen shop is hidden in a small corner mall. The decor is nothing crazy but it creates a cozy homey feeling in the restaurant. I ordered the spicy miso ramen and I was blown away, the broth was perfectly balanced and packed with flavor. The pork chasu was the most tender chasu I've ever had in LA. This ramen was better than some spots I had in Japan! Service was quick and friendly and this place is affordable compared to other ramen spots in LA. I will 100% be coming back in the future.

Stopped by here on a recommendation from my Yelp friend (Thank you, Eric H!). Susuru Ramen makes delicious ramen! Their signature ramens are the Tonkotsu and Khao Soi Ramen. Vegetarian ramen also available for non-meat preference. We tried over a few dishes and all were very good! The ramen broth was balanced and their noodles were cooked to perfection. The menu has a nice selection of appetizers, rice bowls, and sushi rolls if you don't feel like ramen. This place has hints of Thai ownership, but with a Japanese soul. The Chef knows what they are doing! Am impressed. Susuru Ramen is solid. Credit and cash accepted. Parking is tight in the area (Thaitown-Hollywood) is the only downside.

Perfect egg in the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen.

A tiny little spot, but the flavor is full size. It was lunch time and I was hungry. I started off with the Chicken & Pork Gyoza, and the Spicy Salmon cut roll. The combination of chicken and pork in gyoza was new for me, and these were very tasty. The Spicy Salmon Sushi was also good , and the pieces didn't fall apart, as they so often do in Ramen shops. The main course was Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen. I asked for spicy ramen and that's exactly what I got. The broth had some real heat to it, and they did not go lightly on the chili paste. The noodles were nicely cooked, the egg was perfect, and the pork chashu was tender and full of flavor. My only question, is that with all this good food, served with real tableware and utensils, all they had were little plastic containers to use as dipping/sauce bowls? Regardless, It was a very satisfying lunch. The service at Sunsuru was friendly and helpful, and the prices are very reasonable. $15 for the Ramen and $8 for the sushi roll and the Goyza. Susuru Ramen Bar is definitely worth a visit.

I had the spicy miso ramen which is great! Loved the flavor. Would always recommend more meat! Always drive by this place and never noticed it. Service was good. Some inside seating, no outside seating. It's a chill little somewhat dive. Good for the price. Would I come back, Yes.

I haven't had ramen in a while and Susuru was the perfect re-entry. The shop was packed on a friday evening, giving a bustling and intimate feel. Yes the Mayu was on the heavier, saltier side, but not overwhelming. The chashu, sliced thinly, was melt in your mouth, and the black garlic gave that perfect umami.

Adding this review simply for fried squid legs. Wow. Obsessed. So much flavor, nice crispiness. Highly recommend! Everything we have tried here has hit so far!

We waited 30mins to dine in but it was worth every second. Poor worker was understaffed but even then made sure we were well taken care of. The food is absolutely delicious. The place is tiny and cozy so plan accordingly.

To start off our server was nice and kind I didn't happen to get her name but I hope she sees this and knows! Susuru is a better ramen for me compared to tatsu as of recently. It's packed with so much flavor in either the mild or spicy option without being heavy which makes you feel sluggish afterwards. The takoyaki was full of so much flavor, texture and just a good complement with the ramen.

3.5 stars! * TAKOYAKI - great consistency, filled with octopus vs. air or fried filling. Not too hot, though, I wonder if they're made there in bulk and refrigerated or if it's entirely sourced. * SHUMAI - also a solid starter, the dipping sauce was good. Here's the disappointing part, my main course was NOT the ramen. * KATSU SANDO - lovely kewpie mayonnaise flavor and sauce, bread isn't too thick or thin and it also doesn't hold up against the power of the cabbage and chicken. Ideal amount of breading. This beats a Chick-Fil-A sandwich, for sure. I'll come back and try the ramen, I might have to revise up or down. Located along busy Hollywood Blvd. in Thai Town. Stiff competition from many other excellent restaurants within walking distance. Small tables and seating inside, maybe about ten pairs of people could eat in here at once. Quick, attentive service. I admired the crushed ice they use and how often they refilled my water, especially on a hot day (over 100 degrees).

Very tasty spicy tonkatsu with a nice chile peppery kick which I appreciate. Service staff is very friendly and attentive! Super clean and even the bathroom was spotless

We ordered a chicken karaage to start and it wasn't bad, nothing to write home about though. Since the pieces were large, it was slightly awkward to eat without any plates, and I was just catching the crumbs with my hand (didn't have the ramens at the time). Also got a yuzu beer to try and it was delicious, nice yuzu flavor with some tanginess. I had the shoyu with duck while my husband had the yama tonkotsu that came with fragrant black garlic oil. The tonkotsu is not one of those rich, milky, creamy ones and I personally like these lighter ones more. I also enjoyed the shoyu which had a pleasant depth of flavor, but it felt like it was relying too heavily on MSG for umami. Noodles came out chewy. Definitely not the best ramens I've had but are some of the better ones in LA. Our server was friendly, as were the rest of the staff. Service was quick. The restaurant decor feels straight out of Japan, an extra bit of fun. There's a $10 paid lot behind this block of buildings that's convenient for anything in this part of Little Tokyo.

Dashi was VERY good. Generous amount of grated daikon. Assort. Tempura: Saw this being served while waiting. Looked really good and it WAS! Large shiitake mushroom. Fan cut Japanese eggplant, kabocha pumpkin, shrimp tempura & two (2) shiso leaves. All VERY crisp not oily. Warm dashi side had deep umami rich flavor. Probably made the legit kombu & bonita flake method. #1 ordered the Miso carbonara: garlicky carbonara served with their signature house-rolled out udon. Wonderful dish. Overall I enjoyed the ramen, and it was still good, but just not as good as I remembered. The service was just okay as well. Next up was the omelette with gravy with fried rice that had both shrimp and pork. I feel the egg of the omelette was well made. It had that texture and consistency you would really want from an omelette of that nature. The pork and shrimp fried rice tasted a little light in the seasoning and flavor, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The gravy was also lighter than a heavy gravy as well. When the food came out, I thought the meal would be deeply heavy due to the quantity and the gravy, but it still felt a bit light and manageable, which was kind of outside of my expectations, so that was pretty interesting. I do like the chicken soup this comes with. It has a nice flavorful broth where you could tell it was made well too. The service here is pretty good and attentive. The ambiance is nice but pretty busy. Also, if you come on the weekend, expect to wait a bit because a lot of people do want to eat here and the line can become a bit backed up.
