I was starving so I drop by on whim, since Pho 22 is local to us. Didn't feel like driving further into San Gabriel Valley. The Pho here for my taste is not good. The broth is not robust, meaning lacking depth of flavor of bone broth; the aromatics were too strong where the predominant taste was of cardamom. Egg rolls were terrible. I will say: Taste is subjective, so maybe try this restaurant out for yourself and see if you like it. Am just very picky with Pho. Located in my local Montrose area is this perfect Pho 22. I always come here when my friends and I are craving something flavorful and hearty and it always heals our soul. I like ordering the Chicken Pho, Pork Eggrolls, BBQ Pork Banh Mi, and Thai Tea(comes with refills). Although... depending on the workers-SOME of them can be a bit judgy, but it doesn't really stop me from coming to this spot. The ambiance is calming and has variety of seating options; even a few outside. Do keep in mind everyone in the party has to order atleast one thing each. Grabbed some Pho to-go and was not disappointed! I ordered a Large size brisket and rare steak pho, with extra bean sprouts on the side. What I got was an exceptionally large size of pho, compared to competitors nearby, and the soup had a nice, light and refreshing taste. The bean sprouts I got was a nice large bag, which I appreciate! As far as other reviewers, if you're looking for something crazy authentic, Montrose isn't the place to find it. My wife and I stopped by here last weekend and had a very enjoyable lunch. I had the roast pork sandwich while she had the chicken pho. The sandwich was very good. I really liked the crunchy cucumber, pickled vegetables, and the pork was perfect. We also split an order of rice rolls/spring rolls that really complimented both our dishes The outside is dog friendly, so we sat outside in a space in front that housed two small tables. We started with the Egg Rolls which were absolutely delicious! Perfectly crisp and packed with delicious meat. The Stake and Brisket Pho was a bit bland but it got much better with salt and pepper. BEST PHO EVER!! Vietnamese pho with Korean influence and I can't get enough! The combination pho is so delicious, I can never just have one type of meat they are too good. Then a lady came out and greeted us, gave the menu. She was very nice . We ordered the combination and I asked her what is good from the chefs special. I wanted to take out food for later. She said it was the pork bbq and I added the chicken too. I ordered both. The pho was ok but I didn't check my to go food. When I got home, I didn't bother to look again. So, there are new owners of this establishment. And it shows. Probably because Montrose keeps raising its rent In restaurants are struggling to control their overhead. However, the broth that made this pho delicious has changed. It's lost a lot of its flavor, probably due to cheaper ingredients. The portions of meat have shrunk considerably, this is based on a large rotisserie chicken pho and large flank steak and brisket pho. The chicken was strings of scarcely portioned protein, maybe 1/3 of what the old owners used to include. The steak and brisket were cheap and gristly. With two large bowls, they barely included enough bean sprouts, and cilantro for one bowl. They did not include any thai basil, jalapenos, lemon, and hoisin sauce like they used to include. So based on what we ordered, it was definitely less portioned, lower quality, not as fresh, and cutting out certain ingredients. May or may not give this place that used to be in our regular lineup another chance. Most likely, will look for a better pho place. read more

Their bread was excellent before it was crusty and crunchy and this time it was just bread thick bread like a hotdog bread. Broth was super salty I had to add water at home. I know it's hard with the everything being so expensive but WOW!! I've eaten here before and the food is good. However, today I ordered via DoorDash for quick pick up on my lunch break. They gave me the wrong thing. They gave me fried rice, I ordered beef vermicelli. I went back to have my order made and she was incredibly rude. She took back the wrong order and told me "no. It's door dash issue." And refused to make me what I originally ordered. I showed her on my phone the menu and what it looks like and she said "nope. DoorDash issue, on my side it says fried rice" I told her that I see that but as a customer I ordered what was presented and it's not my fault that there is a glitch and they need to take that up with DoorDash to fix it so it doesn't happen to other customers. This is my go-to pho spot. The service is fast, and the food is just great. My friends and I always go to this spot.

I ordered the deluxe combo with meatball and shrimp. The shrimp were good, but very small and there were only a few in the large bowl of broth and noodles. The meatballs were inedible - dense hard balls with no flavor, indescribable; don't know what they were made of. The shreds of daikon radish (I believe it was daikon) in the broth were so tough that I couldn't chew them. The staff was friendly and very attentive but, unfortunately, I won't be back. read more

Went with a couple of friends, as we usually come frequently to this place. When we got our waters, we noticed that our friend got a dirty cup with something brown on the side. Thankfully a lady took it away and replaced it, but nonetheless it was surprising. Second, my server gave me the wrong order and thank god I did not touch it because it was meant for a completely different table. Third, the server continued to give dirty looks to my friend after she said she didn't need her water refilled. After we left, my friend and I realized we left some belongings. My boyfriend used to frequent this location for a several years until the past couple months when he started noticing their service was getting worse every time he went in. The waitress was rude the past several visits and the owners who are always there have done nothing about it. In terms of the food, the pho he really enjoys here, but he ordered a noodle dish last time and it tasted like a plate of garlic. That being said, even after having poor service and a dish that probably doesn't reflect the overall quality of the food at this establishment, he did go back multiple times hoping the poor service was just a coincidence. This time he went in and ordered his usual pho and got seated. At the end of his meal when he asked for the check, the waitress mentioned the internet was down and they could only accept a cash payment. He asked her and the owner why they wouldn't have let him know that before seating him as he did not have cash on him and would now have to go to the bank to get cash to pay for the meal. They didn't do anything to reconcile the situation or apologize for the inconvenience. On top of that the waitress have him an offended look when he didn't leave his usual tip. As a business owner it would be in their best interest to at the least apologize to a customer who visits their business regularly. read more

What a wonderful place! Though I live about 40mins from the area, I will gladly make the drive just to be able to eat there. My boyfriend took me here the first time and the owners and wait staff were so incredibly lovely and attentive. The pho was delicious, and the meat excellent!
