I stopped here with my co-workers for lunch. First of all, the interior is so cool. When you step into the restaurant it looks and feels like you just stepped into a little back street in Japan. The interior is beautifully crafted with faux storefronts and Japanese decor. The lighting is moody and cozy, this is actually a great spot for a date. We came at an odd time so it was not busy, service was quick and friendly at the door. Now I'm not very familiar with Ramen or Asian foods in general, so the menu was a bit intimidating but as far as I could tell it seemed authentic. We all got some type of lunch special which was a main dish + side dish. For me it was Tonkatsu Ramen, medium spice with a Spicy Tuna roll. Service was a little iffy, our server was very on top of taking our orders and bringing us food, but then disappeared for the rest of the meal. Still good flavor but much smaller portion. Sad, everything is more expensive and less of it. Kopan!! A staple Japanese restaurant to satisfy your ramen, sushi, curry, gyoza cravings! I've been to two different locations, one in Alhambra and this one in Burbank. Both locations are great, super cute interior design that transports you to Japan. My boyfriend loves Japanese culture and ever since coming back from our trip to Japan he's been itching to go back. But for now, Kopan will do! Downtown Burbank is always a pain having to find parking, I recommend parking in the parking structures they have, it's a block away from Kopan but the walk isn't bad, the area is safe and there's lots of other restaurants and things to see. The waitresses and waiters at Kopan are always friendly and attentive. They're always checking to see if we're enjoying ourselves. We've been here many times and my boyfriend ordered the Tonkatsu ramen, I ordered the Okinawa sushi (it comes with an assortment of sashimi), and we ordered Chicken Skin Gyoza's to share. We've never tried the chicken skin gyoza's before but my boyfriend was curious about how it would taste with chicken skin as the skin of the gyoza. Safe to say, he wasn't a fan of it! He understood it was keto and great for people who don't eat carbs or gluten, but it didn't like the texture of the chicken skin. Me, I enjoyed them, it had great flavor, nice crispy to the chicken skin and the sauce it came with was tasty. After realizing my boyfriend didn't like them he ordered a plate of the original gyozas and finished every last bite of them. His ramen was hot, rich, spicy, and the noodles were cooked al dente just the way he liked it. I consider him to be a ramen connoisseur and Kopan ramen is on his top 10! The Okinawa sashimi was fresh, thick plump pieces of fish, and the shredded daikon radish adds a nice freshness to the sushi. I surprisingly got full from it! We came on a pretty busy day! Thankfully, we killed some time by walking around the shopping center as we checked in line on the yelp app. It took about 25 minutes to secure a table for two. The wait was very worth it though. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The service was also very quick considering how busy it was. Once our meals were placed in front of us, we dug in. My partner mentioned that the ramen lacked salt, so that's what I docked a star. We also didn't get water until almost 30 minutes of waiting, but again I completely understand it was busy that day.
