Went to dinner at Pho Season to see if the improvements in food quantity, quality and service I experienced during my last visit were going to be repeated. Happy to say that the Pho Biet I ordered was very well proportioned with the meat ingredients. Service was good, with the waitresses stopping by here and there to check up on our family. The plates of vegetables that come with the pho were fresh and plentiful. I also shared a Bahn mi and shared with my wife. The only other bahn mi I have to compare with was made with a hard crusted roll with very mild flavor. The bahn mi here is served in a soft roll with a kind of cabbage slaw, fresh cilantro, a few not-spicy slices of jalapeño and a good amount of deliciously seasoned beef. So easy to eat, so good! I'm rarely ever in the area but when I am, I come here by obligation. This place serves delicious pho. To be honest, never had anything but the pho. The rib eye summer rolls were so delicious! I had the Doc Biet pho. It was perfect for the gloomy weather, the day I went. The server was sooo nice and quick to bring my food out. I love this place!! This is my childhood spot for pho and I always get the original pho, egg rolls, and chicken and egg fried rice. The service is always great whenever we order takeout and once they were a little late, so we got a free thai tea! The ambiance every time I go in person to eat, is always warm and welcoming. "Pretty disappointing experience with Pho Season. Ordered the "premium" oxtail pho for takeout and there was nothing premium about it. The bowl barely had any noodles in it -- and noodles are the cheapest ingredient, so it felt cheap to skimp out on them, especially when you're paying around $25 (DoorDash) and still leave hungry. The food also took way too long to come out. Overall, the portions, quality, and service didn't justify the price at all. 9/01/2025: We had a long drive from Altadena to Santa Clarita, and we were hungry. Decided to stop for dinner in LaCañada and Yelp brought me to Pho Season. Bonus points for being open on Labor Day! It's a simple shop.. looks like it was a little sushi bar once upon a time. They have decor in what used to be the countertop sashimi refrigerators! The front of the house looks clean, and we were greeted and seated by a friendly woman upon our arrival. There were several tables filled which was a good sign! Interesting menu. This place isn't what I'm used to from a typical Vietnamese restaurant. None of the menu items had any Vietnamese names attached and the Cha Gio crispy egg rolls that are pictured in the upper left hand side of the menu aren't available . Huh? I asked if the egg rolls offered with the Pho combo were cha gio and she said "we don't have that". I pointed to the picture on the menu to confirm and she said nope, we don't sell those. . She offered basic wonton wrapped egg rolls instead; but I passed and changed my order. Hubby chose the Sesame Chicken from the "Special Menu" section. They're nice little chicken bites and the plating is attractive! A cute green salad and a couple of fried wontons. The chicken itself tastes like something I could buy frozen at Costco and stick in the air fryer. It didn't taste bad... but it wasn't standout or memorable, either. They feature quite a few "non-Vietnamese" dishes like teriyaki, stir fry and bulgogi on their menu. Fusion! I decided to try the Pho Tai. With 5 red stars next to it on the menu, it had to be good! it's their signature beef pho broth with rare steak. It comes with the meat already in the broth so if you really like it rare, request that it be served on a plate. They provided a generous helping of thinly sliced onions, cilantro, slices of jalapeño and bean sprouts and a sprig of Thai basil. No culantro, spicy or lemon mint but that could be a regional thing. . The broth is good and tastes like they really do cook the bones for many hours. It's also very clean.. no floating oil. The spices are a little light for some, but my husband likes it that way. There was enough meat for my meal, but seemed light compared to other places where I go for the same price point. Much like the sesame chicken, this wasn't bad... but not "OMG Exciting" . The cà phê sữa đá (Vietnamese iced coffee) tasted more like a strong Starbucks drink. No notes of sweetened condensed milk.. which is a must for me to consider it to be legit. Have I become a Vietnamese cuisine snob? I'm practically appropriating the culture, traveling all over So California for "the good stuff". While this was "good enough", being so close to the heart of San Gabriel Valley I don't know if I'd come back here again. The parking right out front was very convenient. It seemed to be a favorite of locals and the lady serving everyone seemed to know the other patrons. I like that a lot! This place used to be good many years ago. Now, it looks like the owners gave up and the place is struggling to stay alive. The food is mediocre, specially with a few newer spots in the area. Service is decent but last couple of times it felt like a shut up, eat, and hurry up and leave type of vibe. As for the cleanliness.. it looks like the owners are really trying but the place is just outdated, worn out and dirty.. makes it look like it lacks cleanliness. I'm new to the area and exploring the food scene, and decided to try out Pho Season. It was small but welcoming and we got seated right way. I'm still a bit of a newbie when it comes to pho, but typically I order the spring rolls and a beef pho as every place I go. I found the spring rolls here a bit on the smaller side and it wasn't as satisfying as some of the other places, but still good in flavor and gave me enough appetite to look forward to my meal. The pho broth was very good, and I found the portions to be on the more generous side which made up for the spring rolls. The beef was very tender and it was a good amount. Still gonna come back and have the Spicy Garlic Pho again - for sure - and excited to try some of their Korean food (since it seems to be Korean owned/run) I will warn any new comers- they seem short staff especially for when it gets crazy busy like Sunday night. (It was completely full up inside and lots of people waiting outside for their to-go orders when I arrived at 7PM). So if they seem overwhelmed please understand and give them a few minute leeway. Disappointing experience. They forgot an item, so I called. The lady who picked up seemed aware and said that they'd deliver it in 5 minutes. I went out to wait because my place is challenging to get to for delivery drivers. I waited 20 minutes in the cold, and when I tried calling again (twice), they didn't answer. I was even going to cancel the order because I didn't want them to drive out, and I didn't want to have to go outside because of the weather, but the lady was insistent that they'd drop off the missing item. Racist restaurant. Ive been living in La crescenta my whole life and never have i experienced such horrible service from a restaurant. We got there and they didnt even greet us, they just pointed at a table and we waited more than 5 minutes just to get looked at. I said excuse me to one of the servers to get a MENU, and she yelled in front of everyone "just one second" but then someone called her and she happily helped them. There few Vietnamese spots in this area so we decided to visit pho season. Operated by a kind Korean woman, I'd say the quality and taste of the Vietnamese dishes are up to par. We ordered the spring rolls and the combination vermicelli. The spring rolls came in a pair, and were priced at $10. The combination vermicelli was $16, for your choice of beef/chicken/pork, with shrimp and egg rolls. For the price point I'd say it is very reasonable for the portion size. The food here is quite good. I tried the top two pho soup recommendations from this restaurant. The first one is the beef rib pho soup. This choice is an excellent as it comes with two full-size rib bone with meat on the bone. The soup broth is delicious and not salty like other places I've been to. The second soup that we ordered was the oxtail pho soup. The oxtail meat is separated from the bone and it is quite soft and it was my understanding that they boiled the meat over 10 hours. You can certainly taste the tenderness of the beef oxtail meat and it was quite tasty. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant for a healthy choice of soup. read more

Mom was craving soup, so of course Pho Season was the first place that came to mind. Although we don't live in the area anymore, we drove all the way to La Crescenta, especially since most places in our area don't serve tendon as a meat option - what?!?? The pho really hit the spot - delicious broth as usual with the meat that we like. I also love that they are generous with the side toppings (bean sprouts, lime, etc) cause some places really skimp on that. Staff is always so kind and accommodating. Post-hiking adventure occurring partly in the rain, my friends and I Yelped the nearest place for some warm pho and Pho Season came up. I decided on the Salmon Teriyaki plate ($13.99) which came with rice, spring salad and 2 beef fried dumplings. My salmon looked a little pale orange and not as appetizing as the menu pictures :( Taste decent, just seemed stingy on the spring salad too, when I asked for no rice and rather have more salad instead (see my pic). Service was a little overwhelmed, as they seemed short staffed. Restaurant was generally busy and our party of 6 always had to wait and look around for a server when we needed something.
