    Duck taco

Definitely some good culinary deliciousness, stars for inventive cuisine. Had a duck confit taco with preserved orange - the combination of flavor was on point. Next a few salads, quinoa with dates, baby lettuces, pecans and an artichoke vinaigrette - a tad over dressed but well done. Hubs has beet, goat cheese with lettuces and carrots which he liked. Tuna tiridito was nice - expected raw but was seared, rice noodles with sesame and some wontons. Then a seafood chowder. Both were very good. Service was ok, definitely mixed because of English / Spanish translation. I said I was eating slowly but server thought I meant to hold my entrees - we were finished with salads with an indication of placed silver wear for at least 20 min before I had to ask where the entrees were. Some things don't translate I guess. I had issues with loud music AND bar TV playing at the same time. Didn't mesh with fine dining atmosphere in my opinion. Wine list BTG very limited so opted for a martini, which was ok. Weren't asked if we wanted anything more to drink and empty glasses left on table throughout meal. I'm guessing it's expensive for Mexico but an app, 2 salads, 2 second courses and 2 cocktails was $60!! Would have been $160 in CA so for some very nice food it was a huge value.

Latitud 54 59 is the casual restaurant of two in the same building. The other is the more formal and romantic Ajenjo.  Chef/owner Roberto Valle Hernández is a graduate of Cordon Bleu in Paris and has created two very good restaurants in the commercial building on Blvd Popotla in front of Condos la Jolla del Mar. Roberto's longtime restaurant in San José del Cabo, Voila Bistro, was destroyed in 2014 by Hurricane Odile. He is helping to improve the gastronomy in Rosarito Beach area. The happy hour is gone. The menu on the internet is fabulous. Taco Mondays has their normal tacos on the menu at two for one. Now that is a sweet deal.

My family has enjoyed Latitude now for a few years. We've eaten many lunches, dinners and even Thanksgiving dinner here. We've enjoyed everything we've eaten here. I can't remember anything I haven't liked. My favorite is the skirt steak tacos. They used to put guacamole on them but have change to just avocado slices. I prefer the guacamole but both are delicious. On my last visit I tried the 'special' duck tacos- awesome! If you ever get a chance to eat a Thanksgiving meal here, I highly suggest it. It was superb! This is my favorite restaurant in Baja, so I'll be back...actually this weekend and I can't wait!

    Beautiful place!

We ordered a sample of appetizers, including the calamari, duck confit taco, tamale with shrimp and lobster sauce and the seared ahi tuna.
