I have not been here since my last review but because they emailed about a spring fling sale going on only this weekend, I arrive to buy skincare shit. Go somewhere else ladies....but do go.... So I have been a client here since it was Elude. In fact, I was a client for nearly 15-years. I had laser hair removal with Judy and other treatments. I wholly recommend laser hair removal, it is the BOMB. Judy is an amazing technician and she really is a girls' girl. Not sure what happened, but since the new ownership maybe she is under pressure to SELL. So, recently I went back in for a touch-up. I have a FEW hairs growing on my thighs, calves, and underarms. It we stupid EXPENSIVE for this 'touch-up' because I would not BUY THE 'PACKAGE'. YES, I know it is hard to believe, but I was told to spend over 3k and buy an ENTIRE new package (like one would do if they never had laser hair removal) to remove the few strays that have appeared over the years. It felt like a hard sell to me. However, I must admit I HATE being 'sold' anything. Judy suggested it and the receptionist concurred of course. It was such a terrible, dirty feeling and I knew I would never be back. That part is sad. I will miss what was once my spa home. They definitely lost their home feeling and are super corporate with the sell, sell mentality. It is ICK-Y. We are S. Ca. we have choices, thank goodness, choose another spa in my humble opinion. I've had at east 4-5 people inject me for a hollow pundit eye area in the past, but Alison is by far THE BEST. I cannot believe how quickly she was able to literally reverse the problems created by the last injecter, who left my face lopsided and dropping on one side. I look almost perfectly symmetrical (perfection doesn't exist) and literally a decade younger. As in, people do not believe my age. And I don't look "done." Hollywood results. Thank you, Alison! Nadine the Manager put numbing cream on me and with Krystal experience and technique as she's injecting me I didn't feel a thing. I was able to get both Dysport and a Chemical peel done here and am so impressed with the quality and results I saw. Alison helped me through selecting Dysport and listening to what my problem areas were that I wanted to target. She was very precise and the whole process ultimately painless. A few weeks later all the wrinkles and problems areas I mentioned were looking perfect from the injections she did! After doing the Dysport and consulting with Alison on treatments to help aid in my Melasma near my forehead she recommended we start with a chemical peel treatment. I went in a few weeks ago for the chemical peel and the process again was almost painless. She took her time in applying the peel and gave me recommendations for the week ahead to ensure I got the most out of the treatment. A few weeks later and I've already seen the discoloration limiting and smoother more vibrant skin! I have been coming to Ajliss since it was known as elude med spa. I feel in love with Ginger because she is amazing at what she does and she has such a great personality. Since they have been under new management I've seen a slow decline in service not by ginger but by the staff. 1- you are no longer able to book online 2- when you call to make an appointment no one ever picks up. After finally getting an appointment I witnessed the receptionist ignore calls to engage in personal convo with another receptionist. 3- the general welcomeness that I was used to getting when this place was elude is gone. You are lucky to be glanced at when you walk in. Sad because this place was super great and close to me. Good news GINGER IS NOW AT DIVANTE MED SPA IN STUDIO CITY!!! I was going to Elude/Ajliss for Botox with Ginger and really liked HER but the office itself was less than impressive. I'm mainly writing this post cause I had an appointment schedule and confirmed (I have a text with the date and time confirming the appointment) and I drove out and arrived and I'm no where in the system...no record of my call, nothing. And on top of it, it's Gingers last day...so I can't just reschedule with her. I also don't live super close so driving out there to see her was for Ginger specifically. I'd rearranged my meetings for the day just for this appointment. And they weren't able to squeeze me in at all...that was disappointing since it was an error on their part. Didn't even offer to schedule me with someone else, offer a discount or anything. I'll be finding a new place. What a waste of my time. read more

I first learned about Elude Med Spa because I was interested in buying a Lifebooker (sort of like Groupon) deal. What amazed me is that they are SO highly rated on Yelp. Seriously everyone gives a 5 star review. In the end, the combination of good reviews and the pricing on the Lifebooker deal caued me to buy two packages for laser hair removal with Elude. When I first started going to Elude Med Spa, they were located in the Burlington Arcade in the South Lake District. They have since moved to a different spot on Walnut. They take care with their store, keeping it clean and chic. Before you start any treatments, you have to do an initial consultation with Tammy, a physician's assistant. They do these on Tuesdays, Fridays, and one Saturday a month. If I hadn't been able to combine my PA consult with my first Saturday visit, I would have found this slightly annoying because I want to be as efficient as possible with my time. I think we discussed what procedures I wanted done and it was an opportunity to ask questions. It was pretty basic stuff. The procedures themselves are done by a Registered Nurse, Kim. She's very nice, sweet, and non-awkward even in the awkward settings. FYI: The Spa does a lot of botox and facials in addition to laser hair removal. While there is a doctor affiliated with this business, I didn't see him for my hair removal procedures. Elude is pretty high-tech in that they have a website and you can do most things via the website, e.g. book and cancel appointments. I was a customer when they switched websites and my profile was acting really glitchy (I still need to remedy this with Elude). Beware, they have a fairly strict cancellation policy in that you can't cancel with less than 24 hours notice without incurring a $50 fee. I really wish they were more forgiving in that respect but it has kept me from missing appointments. Now that I have a bebe, I haven't been back because I can't be certain of my schedule so this rigidity in their scheduling has made it hard for me to return. As for the laser hair removal itself, they use Soprano XL machines. I've been twice and I saw marked improvement in the underarm. It's much more sparse and fine. I have more treatments to do but I'm fairly certain it'll result in a lot less hair. Another thing you should be aware of is that they don't let you change body parts. Let's say you have a pack of 5 hair removal that you start with the underarm. If by procedure 3, you're done and want to apply the remaining 2 to the lip, no can do. Their rationale is that you can use the last 2, which never expire, for maintenance to the underarm. read more

LOVE this place and the results have been GREAT so far. Megan, the owner, did a fantastic job with the decor. Upon walking in, you feel a sense of being transported to a hip, chic spa. Amy and Lauren have both been great during the treatments. They both do a great job of talking to you during the treatment to keep you distracted from any pain you think you may feel. And really, there is not any pain at all. It's more of an intense heat spot every now and again and I was surprised how fast each treatment is. You're literally done in 10 minutes or less each time. Results have been great so far. No more waxing and on the way to be hair free! So worth every penny. As I had never had a treatment before, Megan really took the time to explain the process, how it works, benefits, what to expect and answered any questions I had. I had a chemical peel with Connie, it was my first time and I was nervous, and Connie was very nice and answered all my questions. She made me feel comfortable and informed. Yesterday I had my first laser hair removal session with Karen and it was another great experience. Easy and virtually painless. They have really great appointment hours and great value for their service. I will continue to use their services. I first came here when Kim was still here. I was insanely apprehensive about getting laser hair removal on my underarms, but was recommended to give it a try since I'm 100% over shaving and I couldn't find a place as amazing as my old waxing place back home. Kim calmed all of my nerves and ensured me I would be fine (especially after she noticed I have many tattoos). Apparently, getting lasered isn't as bad as getting a tattoo and I now agree completely. By the time of my second session, Kim had left and I had a new nurse. I believe her name is Amy. She's also super sweet and calming. It feels like they're your best friends... except, you know, they happen to be zapping your skin. As an added bonus, the receptionist (sorry! I promise I'll learn names soon!) has phenomenal customer service. She's patient, kind, and always greets you. ..I just wish I could rock her haircut.. The price is very affordable. To be honest, I love this place. The receptionist are super friendly. And the nurses, they're amazing. Kim, was incredible and it's unfortunate that she left. But the other nurse that replaced her is even better. I literally didn't feel any pain. I literally laughed majority of the time during the procedure because it was so ticklish. The new nurse, I forgot her name, made me feel comfortable. And on top of that, she was very very thorough. She made sure she didn't miss any spots at all as for lasering. I can't wait to go to my next appointment. I've seen results and believe me, I love it. I hate hair in the bikini area and the armpits because I'm just so self conscious in those areas. I made an appointment in advance with Connie for a microdermabrasion. I never had been to Elude before and I had never had a microdermabrasion either. As soon as I met Connie she was very cordial and asked about my skincare routine and any concerns I had with my skin. I have a history of acne and she suggested a moisturizer and sunscreen that would be more appropriate for my skin. The whole session took about 30 minutes and it really didn't hurt as much as I had thought it would. It cost $74 for the microdermabrasion because it was on special this week. It's only been a few hours and my skin looks and feels significantly better! Connie suggested that I try a peel next time to better resurface my skin. Overall, I am happy with the results so far and I enjoyed my first experience. I look forward to my next appointment. read more

It does hurt depending on how sensitive some areas are, but overall I am very happy with my results. I have light skin with dark hair, which is ideal for a prime candidate. I have never been burned here, and their customer service is amazing! I started off with just my underarms, but now I'm moving onto bikini and legs. It's so worth driving the hour every 6 weeks!
