I have had 8 full sessions at Pasadena skin boutique and over 70% of hair still there. I m fair skinned with dark hair and was going in for full bikini, legs and underarms. I have hair on all three areas after 8 sessions. First two sessions I came in a bit tan, and they told me this is what cause laser not to work on me, but in fact I did see the best results in my first 2-3 sessions and absolutely no results after (when I was super pale). Before 4th session I started to bring to attention that I m not seeing much difference anymore and they were keep telling me they ll just increase the setting next time. They told me I must use some kind of vitamins for hair growth, which is not true, and some other reasons they think if can happen that didn't make sense. After 8 sessions still have to shave every two days to have my legs and other parts smooth. I called to check if I could get some kind of discounted or complimentary sessions because I m not seeing great results after 8 sessions (I was told most likely I will need 6 but 8 at a max in the beginning) and was told that I already getting good rate this is why they won't offer me any kind of deal for not seeing any results. Most of my friends got the treatments done in laser away and are done after 6 sessions, just went for a consult there and was told that it was either bad machine or they were not using the right setting on me and after 8 sessions I should have 1 or 2 hairs left on my legs and other areas should look much much better. Just got a package from them for a bit more expensive price but just hope it will work better. Looking for a better deal just wasted over 2k for not getting any results. tl;dr - Great place to go if you like wasting time and money. Alternatively, I recommend going to Brentwood Medical Group. It's worth the drive rather than wasting money at Pasadena Skin Boutique. I don't enjoy writing negative reviews and generally like to give businesses the opportunity to rectify the issue beforehand. I've contacted this company many times and they refuse to refund me the 1/2 refund that they previously promised. I've been getting laser hair removal done for the last few years, and this has been the worst experience I've had by far. The person who performed the procedure was very polite and friendly, but unfortunately either the settings were not configured properly or the machine does not work, as the treated hair never fell out. During the session, I mentioned that I was surprised it didn't hurt and explained how that usually indicates that the setting is too low. Rather than adjusting the settings, I was then told that the machine is designed to be "painless". LOL When I called for either a re-do session or a refund, they refused and said it was because it was my "first time" and immediate results are not expected. This excuse may have worked on someone who has never had laser before, but from experience, I know that if the hair doesn't fall out, nothing happened. It takes several sessions for permanent hair reduction, but the hair should fall out after each session. A couple of times in the past I had gone to a different med spa where a spot was missed, and when I called to let them know, they offered to go over the missed spot for free. This is not the case at Pasadena Skin Boutique. They finally offered a half refund at one point, but refused to honor that when I followed up. I told them that I was moving out of town so they would need to refund electronically, rather than me stopping by in person. There are so many ways they could have made this right, but instead they've been incredibly difficult to deal with and surprisingly rude. I am SO impressed with Pasadena Skin Boutique. The facility is located in a cute little area on the second floor in the playhouse district. The office is nice and clean. On your first visit, you will fill out a stack of paperwork and have a quick video chat with a doctor (I believe he's in Burbank) to see if you are qualified for the treatments you are interested in. Treatment 1: The process didn't hurt at all - it just feels like tiny little zaps that you can barely feel. After my treatment, there were some small bumps on my underarms which went away after a few days. About a week or two later, I could tell how significant even the first treatment was. I barely have any hair growing back! Prior to my first treatment, I would see stubble after a day of shaving. I'm about a month in (going in for my 2nd treatment soon) and it is amazing how little hair I have/how slowly the hair returns. I can go multiple DAYS without having to shave. I can't wait to be complete with the full treatment - they recommend around 4-6 sessions (it differs per person). I have been using this boutique for a while (laser) and one time at the day of my appointment I got my period. I showed us for my appointment, explained that I'd like to do all the laser areas except bikini for a few reasons: - because it is so much painful in the first day of period - because I don't feel comfortable doing it during that time, I did not have tampon - because I have very painful crumbs and it hurts to even walk around I was told (in front of all the people in the lobby) that I must do my bikini otherwise they charge me the full amount because I did not send them 24h notice. I was aware of their policy, thats why I did not cancel but showed up. And I literally could not send them 24h notice because my period started a few hours before the appointment. After arguing with me, they still refused to let me not do my bikini area, and I just left all upset. I ended up getting 7 session if I remember correctly, because I gave up. I have light skin with very thick and dark hair. The laser session itself was fine but I repeatedly told them that I am not seeing a difference between sessions after my second appointment. All they told me was to wait for the 3rd, 4th, 5th, ... and so on. My hair got thinner, but they are not that different from my first session. I still have several patches of fully grown hair on my underarm and I can still see all of my follicles 'active', meaning small hairs everywhere. Not to mention my upper lip being partially lasered (after 6 sessions, I should see a better result than this).
