Edit: At 6:20ish they did call to say that due to traffic they would be here in 25min. I will call DTE once they leave to cancel the other people. Org Msg: I have a DTE Home Protection plan, and they scheduled an appointment with this company to look at my dishwasher. I had to leave work early and even skipped my breaks and lunch to make sure I was home for the appointment. Unfortunately, they never showed up. I had to call DTE back and request a different service provider. I understand that delays can happen, but the appointment window was from 2pm to 6pm, and the store closes at 5pm, so there was no way to reach anyone for help. If they were running late, a simple phone call with an apology and an updated ETA would have gone a long way. The lack of communication and professionalism was very disappointing. read more

He tried to convince me to purchase a New Air Conditioning unit, and I didn't need one at all! An independent Heating and cooling guy came out and fixed my unit for less than $300 bucks. From the moment I called to make an appointment, everything went so well. Alex and CJ from AJs Appliance diagnosed the trash compactor last week, ordered parts and repaired the compactor today. Alex and CJ were great. They called ten minutes before arrived so I could put the dog in another room. Alex kept me well informed. They were very careful to avoid scratching the wood floors and were a great team, were clean, were careful, pleasant, hard workers and Alex was very resourceful after it was discovered that the trash compactor was missing some of the model number digits. I called many appliance service companies before I called AJs Appliance Repair. The other companies did not repair trash compactors. I was grateful that AJs Appliance Repair had an experienced repairman. Alex and CJ were both very nice people too. I saved AJs Appliance to my contacts because if any appliances break again, they will be the company I call. I have already told friends and family about what a great job they did and plan on calling the company so their boss knows what a great job they did. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AJs APPLIANCE REPAIR. I was completely satisfied with AJ's. Two guys came out the first time and diagnosed the problem with my microwave and my oven which both went down at Christmas. They said they'be back in 4 days with the needed parts. Showed back up when they said they would with the parts and repaird both in about an hour and a half. Worst repair service I have ever used. They were sent out DTE's home warranty. I need an igniter on my gas range looked at as it was constantly firing. I was told the piece I needed was out of stock indefinitely and would need a new stove top. I fixed that myself by cleaning it. My oven gas line needed to be cleaned it was building gas and puffing when I turned it on. Told I needed an igniter even though it wasn't a year old then took my oven apart. Said he didn't have the part and would be back next week. I get a call the next day saying it's old and not worth repairing so he's not going to do it. My oven worked before you took it apart. Now it's in pieces on my kitchen table. Canceled my warranty as every time I've used it the workers were incompetent but this one was the worst. read more

DO NOT RECOMMEND. DTE sent them out to look at my fridge and my washing machine. They said parts needed to be ordered for both. Neither was NOT working. I only called for minor issues - one being a support bar fell off in my freezer. It should have been an easy repair. A family member was able to snap it back into place easily. They told me a piece was broken inside of my washing machine - which it wasn't. I had another company come out to take a look and they said our machine runs a diagnostic and it was working fine. Dishonest company. They almost made it so my appliances would not be able to be serviced. All appliances were within a few years old. Good working condition. read more

I started telling the lady on the phone how I was pissed about there tech and Lowe's protection plan giving me the run and a a man got in the phone saying he was a lawyer and he was sending my claim back. you know much of a piece of shit of a company you have to be to have a lawyer in the office of a appliance repair company. Less than one star. Part two to my fridge repair fiasco thanks to AJs. They have no idea what they are doing. Don't bother asking for the owner because he doesn't care and won't help. I knew what was wrong with my refrigerator, but the service guy knew better and installed the wrong part. Not only didn't it fit, but he squished essential wires. Had to hire a second company who took out the wrong part, put the original part back in. When the error I had originally called about happened again, the second company, Kenwhirl, changed the fan motor. Why? Because that's what the error code said to do, but this awful company couldn't manage to listen to me in the first place. Don't use them. They are useless. read more

We came back after being away for ten days and water would not dispense from our refrigerator door. Chris Sawyer came out from A J Appliance Repair and was a lifesaver! At first we were afraid that the refrigerator/freezer would have to be defrosted for 24 hours. Chris worked on the water filter and found that it was frozen and would not allow water to flow to the ice maker and water dispenser. He defrosted the filter and set the refrigerator and freezer to 5. It had been on 7. We are expecting family to arrive this evening and would have been lost without this refrigerator. Sent to my senior citizen parents home for a DTE warranty repair for what should've been a minor light replacement on a late model refrigerator turned into a nightmare. The repairman came up with one excuse after another as to why he couldn't fix it and needed to come back again. It took me a few weeks to calm down to write this review..I didn't have a working refrigerator for a month and after the third time they came out to fix it I gave up and asked for my money back.. no empathy, no sorry or any kind of decent customer service at all.. I got a "we don't reimburse " after they "fixed it " the first time and I lost over 400 dollars worth of food.. replacing a part that was warranted should be a standard fix.. I am also in customer service and would never do business that way.. I found this appliance company on Angie's List. I had a small built in refrigerator located between cabinets within our wet bar in our basement that needed to be swapped out for a new one. I had a repairman, from this company, come to my home to fix the water dispenser on refrigerator door in the lower level. He could not find the water line, because he said it was a solid drywall ceiling. I did show him 2 rooms at either end, where there is a soft ceiling, (soft tile comes out, one room had no ceiling). He searched for 20 minutes, asked for the blueprints of the home. Charged me $85.00, and left. He also told me he was the owner of the company. 1 week later, I had a different appliance company out for something different. I told him about my previous experience with AJ'S Appliance Repair Co., he opened the door to the no ceiling room, and saw the water line in 2 seconds on the wall across from the door. He did not have to move or remove anything. It was so visible!!. I called AJs Appliance co., told them what had just happened and requested a reimbursement of any of my payment, to give him a chance to make this right. He refused! Is there a ZERO rating? read more
