Looking for a place to brunch at the Domain, AKB was just the perfect spot! It has such a cute and inviting space, great service, and tasty food. There was a sign outside advertising their Texas Waffle and I just couldn't resist as I am a sucker for anything in the shape of Texas. The waffle was cooked perfectly and the apple compote, roasted candied pecans, chantilly cream was such a great combination. I liked how it wasn't overly sweet but if you wanted extra sweetness the maple syrup is definitely a great addition. Ok, now don't judge, but I like my savory to balance out the sweet, so I also ordered the Croissant Breakfast Sandwich which was such a great choice! The croissant was so flaky and buttery and I loved the combo of the eggs, cheese, bacon, avocado and the veggies/sauce. I also opted for the smashed potatoes which were well seasoned and cooked but they also offer healthier offerings of mixed greens salad or fresh fruit.

AKB was on my list of places to try when the space was no longer occupied by second bar and kitchen. The layout is exactly the same and the menu isn't too far off from its predecessor. No pictures but we had the brut, aperol spritz, bagel and lox, chicken meatballs and truffle fries. The aperol spritz had lemon instead of oranges and the truffle fries weren't truffling but the bagel and lox, brut, and chicken meatballs hit the spot. The salmon was fresh and the bagel had the right amount of chew. On the weekends they have brunch until 2:30/3 and HH at 3 I frequent the domain so definitely will swing by when in the area.

We came here for a bite and drinks. The vibe was okay. The service was not very fast. We had the chicken plate and pasta. The taste was a little bland but was acceptable.

I've been here twice and overall had a good experience. The first visit was for a girls' brunch with about ten of us. The food was good and tasted fresh. We ordered egg sandwiches, salads, drinks, and lattes, and everything was enjoyable. Service felt a little stretched with our larger group, but the waiters did their best. It worked well for a casual brunch and a place to sit and catch up. I came back a few months later with my husband for dinner since it's inside the Domain and close to our house. Dinner was fine and it was nice to try the place in a different setting. Nothing stood out in a big way, but it was a decent, easy option for a night out. Overall, it's a nice spot for drinks, brunch, or something casual. The decor inside is impressive too.

I met friends at AKB for happy hour (HH) with cocktails and bites. They have "sunset happy hour" every day 3-6 pm. AKB is known for their signature drink The Violet Sky (house-infused butterfly blue gin, aperol, sparkling water, citrus syrup, and lemon). My preference is vodka v gin so I opted out of their specialty drink....settled for a Cuba Libre (rum, coke and lime). The drink was perfectly balanced between the alcohol and soda. There were assortment of HH item to choose from: grilled cheese sandwiches, meatball pops, sliders (chicken and beef), fries, deviled eggs, and tuna tartare to name just a few. All were mouth watering delicious. AKB is strategically located...literally across the street from Nordstroms and super close the bars and restaurants on Rock Rose. It is within the heart of great shopping. As you sit in the bar, you can look out the window and be in people watching heaven. You can also enjoy an intimate conversation with a friend or colleague as the noise level is fairly low. With the extremely cold weather, we have had over the last few days, their warm fireplace was a welcome point of interest at the entry of the bar. This AKB bar feels familiar and very similar to being at home. The bartender and wait staff were extremely attentive and executed their roles so well. Look forward to returning to AKB...

Popped in with girlfriends and just missed happy hour which was a bummer. We did order the truffle fries which were crispy and very well seasoned. I feel like $10 is a bit steep for the amount received but I guess that's a hotel bar in the Domain for ya. We got espresso martinis and a lemon drop martini and everyone was very satisfied with the flavors of their drinks. We ended the night sharing the lava cake which had beautiful presentation as well as taste. The cake was moist and fluffy and the ice cream on the side was perfectly creamy! Our bill for 4 drinks, the side of fries and cake without tip was $96. The staff were attentive and friendly. I have been here a few times before where I've waited around a while for a server to come so this was a welcome change. I'd suggest trying to make their happy hour otherwise, just be prepared to spend some $$ on your drinks/meal.

I met some friends for happy hour here this week and we really enjoyed the food and setting! The bar area was spacious. The 6 of us sat at a high top. The Sunset Hour happy hour options were solid. We ordered the guacamole, cheese pizza, salmon ceviche, and the brussel sprouts. I didn't the eat the pizza since I have a lactose intolerance but all the other items were really good! Service was good too but it was a bit slow which was a bit surprising given it wasn't too crowded when we were there. Sometimes we wondered where our waiter disappeared to but he'd show up and take care of everything quickly. Easy parking at the Purple Garage in the domain. Only request would be to extend HH to 7pm so people coming from all over Austin after work can make it by 6pm. I look forward to going back again and trying more items soon!

I liked it a lot here! I was at the domain for a work dinner but needed to find a place to spend an hour, so I wound up here for happy hour. The bar area is open and airy with lots of windows and light, it's really pleasant. The bartenders were helpful and served me quickly. I had the "Sincerely Sage" cocktail ($9 for HH, $16 reg price) because I like floral/herbal drinks, and it tasted like a slightly more herbal mojito. Very refreshing. I read a textbook for an hour here while waiting to go to dinner and it was very peaceful. If I was in the area needing a place to chill I would certainly come back here :)

I had many breakfast meals & 1 dinner here. Almost everything is phenomenal (had better corn dishes elsewhere). I want to give a shoutout to Xalynn and Kenneth for going above and beyond with great customer service.

We had a wrestling show that afternoon so we wanted to fill up on a good solid breakfast/Brunch. This is Shana's domain and forte so she found us a place we had not been and I had not even heard of before, It was attached to Archer hotel but no spies here. It is a bit tough to find, sort of. Once you find the parking garage there seems to be only one door that leads to the hotel bar/restaurant from the outside and it is right near one of the main doors of the hotel, even if you enter from a hotel door it is not marked or clear this is the restaurant, it is clearly a bar and a lounge but nothing really says brunch or restaurant. They seem to almost want to avoid people coming in to eat that are not from the hotel, which is strange anyway but more so in a shopping city like The Domain. They do have a TON of displays of stuff for sale, Hotel robes, hats, tumblers, chocolates shaped like Guitars and Bats. So much stuff. But the front desk was friendly and got us to the hostess who sat us, they have some cool art and fun add on's such as throw pillows. The drink menu is good, has something for everyone and we were no exception, as we do now and then we choose each other drinks. She got me a Bacon infused Old Fashioned, see photo and I got her a Japanese whiskey drink for reasons we will go over in the future. Both were very good. She got a Texas Waffle (apple compote, roasted pecans, cinnamon Chantilly cream) and chicken sausage. She LOVED the waffle and the sausage was tasty as well. She was in a sort of food heaven. As my wife also pointed out it also attractively plated. I tried the AKB Cowboy plate as the brisket and Borracho beans (we were going to a show called BORRACHO PRO) caught my attention, Not normal breakfast food or offered on breakfast meals. The brisket was tender and flavorful, the jams they supplied hit the spot. I couldn't even decide if my pork sausage or the chicken sausage was better. The bacon was thick but not to soft or too crunchy. The place was quiet, not a lot of business at the time we were there, either the hotel guests had already eaten and gone shopping or to shows or this place was not popular and the fact it has no real entrance or outside signage can't help. The low number of reviews on her also make me think most people don't know it is here and how good it is. The staff was friendly and checked in without being overbearing. One minor issue came as I had ordered some apple juice that never arrived and had to request it again. They were nice and fast about it but it was a minor flaw in an otherwise great brunch. We will be back, my wife wants to try the brisket taco's after trying the brisket from my breakfast. There are more drinks to try and as of now it seems a hidden gem that many don't visit. If you do get a chance I would suggest giving them a try, lots of seating and great food.

We went here for dinner in a Friday night dinner and a Saturday morning brunch. In both instances staff were friendly and fast, though the place was empty on Friday night and very busy Saturday morning. For dinner we tried a hunch of their "shareables": the Ahi taqueria (ok), street corn (fantastic--must get), shrimp & grits (good but the grits get lost in the sauce, literally), and the pork belly Brussels sprouts (good but very salty). We then shared the salmon+fried rice entre (very good, and they offered to split the salmon for us and serve on two plates which was great). We finish dinner with the lava cake dessert which was better than we were expecting. The only real let down were the cocktails--not particularly unique or flavorful. For breakfast we had the Texas waffle (excellent, but maybe I just haven't had a waffle in a while) and the croissant sandwich (just ok--the pastry wasn't particularly good). We had a side of their chicken sausage which was very good; I'd have liked if the waffles came with it. We had two of their fruit cups and both were full of under-ripe cantaloupe and honeydew melon with two small pieces of pineapple each. I'd not come back for the brunch, but i would suggest AKB for dinner. Their breakfast menu (which is different from brunch) looks like it may have better items on it.

Stopped in for a quick bite while shopping. I thought that the food was pretty good. We ordered ceviche, Brussel sprouts and guacamole to share. It was very refreshing after walking around in the heat.

AKB is centrally located in the Domain and a nice quiet place for a night cap. Drinks and desserts are good and the service too.

There's no food offering, yet the environment feels designed for daytime dining rather than an evening bar experience. From a design and hospitality standpoint, it's difficult to understand how this made it to opening in its current state. Even a VERY basic understanding of lighting and ambiance would suggest this setup is fundamentally mismatched--ESPECIALLY for something like a date night. If you're looking for a comfortable or intimate setting, this is NOT it. You'd honestly have a better experience sitting outside a gas station with a 6-pack of Coors Light.

My friend and I sat next to a faux fireplace, where we were greeted by the only bartender working and placed our order. Once he opened the tab, it was disappointing that he never came back to check if we wanted another drink. It wasn't super busy on the Monday we went, but since he was the only one manning the bar, the bartender was always doing something, so I don't blame him fully for not checking back in with us. I ordered a drink called the Velvet Vice. It looked nothing like the picture and tasted similar to an Aviation cocktail with egg whites. I happened to really like it. It is a very relaxed space, but once the speakeasy gimmick wears off, it does not have much else going for it. It is still a cool place, but I am not sure it was worth the lengthy drive to get there. Our server, Avery, genuinely took the time to ask what we were interested in, thoughtfully guiding us through the menu with recommendations that were, frankly, unbelievable. Every single suggestion was spot-on. As for the food, every dish that arrived at the table was a masterpiece: The Brunch Plate: A beautifully classic, elevated breakfast. The sunny-side-up eggs were cooked to absolute perfection, seasoned with a light touch of pepper and spice. Paired with perfectly golden, crispy hash browns, savory sausage, thick-cut toast, and a rich fruit compote, it was a flawless, hearty start to the day. The Beet & Citrus Salad: A vibrant, refreshing standout. The earthy depth of roasted red and golden beets paired wonderfully with bright, juicy citrus segments, creamy crumbled cheese, and fresh greens. It was beautifully balanced, incredibly fresh, and a perfect contrast of textures. The Pesto Pasta: Absolutely spectacular. The pasta shape held onto the rich, flavorful pesto sauce perfectly, which was tossed with fresh spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, and tender chicken, all finished with a generous dusting of parmesan. It was savory, comforting, and packed with bright, fresh flavor. Between the flawless, attentive service and the phenomenal quality of the kitchen, they made this Father's Day incredibly memorable. We will absolutely be back!
