Came during lunch, this place is located in basically an abandon lot near heb in meyerland plaza. Easy parking. Ordered off the lunch menu and I was full. Green tea to start, so hot. Didn't finish it. Miso soup yum. I ordered the spider roll (yum), spicy yellowtail (yum), and spicy tuna. Good for your average hole in the wall sushi place. No notes. Quick service.

Found Akiko on Yelp and wanted to try because it has such great reviews. I came around 4 pm on a Friday and sat at the bar. Service was fast and attentive, but it also wasn't super packed. Lots of specials on the board which I appreciated, but I ordered from the menu. Regular, house sake- Exactly as I would expect. Hot & Tasty. Dragonball Roll- The description says it has "red snapper, avocado& crabmeat". Normally, when a roll says "crabmeat" it is actual crab, not imitation. I was disappointed with this roll because if the crabmeat and the snapper. I wish I would have known it was cooked snapper (it was good, but when I go to sushi restaurants, I prefer raw sushi) Sakura Roll- Tuna, salmon and avocado lightly fried. This was an okay roll. I can't really articulate exactly what was missing, but it just wasn't my favorite. I ended up not ordering anything else because the food left some things to be desired for me. This could have been an off day, but unfortunately, not a place I see myself visiting again.

So funny The lycheetini wasn't make with Hanku vodka. just used the cheap one .When i try to ask the Bartender doesn't care about it.I'm not sure is the Bartender make mistake or the company mistake?

Went here spur of the moment, and pleasantly surprised! Portions were pretty book and overall tasted pretty good! Fun to go to once, but compared to some other sushi restraints a little further down Bellaire missed the mark. Fun to try new rolls here though! Price range was decent for what you get as well.

Real item I received. 9 pieces in total. I paid for 3 boxes of 6-piece.

Dishonesty in their Door Dash practice. They put 6-piece sashimi box on Door Dash, but in reality a 3-box order only comes with one box of 9-piece. Business like this should not survive in Houston area.

I came here back in February of this year. It was a nice sushi restaurant. Great food and service. Drinks were strong!

We ordered this to go and put in specific instructions that they followed so well. But look at this sushi boat to go! (With avocado on the side due to allergy)

Super fresh fish, expansive menu and super friendly staff. I recommend the Nemo Roll and the Sashimi. However they could use better wasabi

My favorite was definitely the Kobe Beef Skewers - I could have just eaten those all night long! Deliciousness in every bite. I'm not a fan of raw fish, so while my family enjoyed a handful of crudo dishes and nigiri, I got to enjoy the Longhorn Roll. This roll was solid, nothing mindblowing. We all enjoyed the Spicy Miso Ramen! Rich, flavorful broth that rivals some of my top ramen spots. I forget exactly what dessert we ordered, it may have been their chocolate bread pudding, but it was so good that I was literally scraping the plate! There's a lot of menu options so I'd love to come back and try some more things

After…read morerecently moving back, I chose it for my birthday lunch with friend because I had such fond memories of dining there. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing. I arrived about 20 minutes before opening and had to wait outside in Houston's summer heat 93'F. While there are a few benches, there is very little shade, and guests are not allowed to wait inside. When the restaurant opened, there was no clear system for seating guests. Even though I was first in line, several people rushed in ahead of me, making the process feel disorganized. The biggest issue involved a $300 gift card that my friend had received years ago. She simply asked the staff to check the balance. When the server returned, he told us the manager had cut the card in half and that the entire balance had to be used during that visit. What bothered me was the lack of communication. We were never informed of the policy before the card was invalidated. If that is the restaurant's policy, it should be explained clearly beforehand. As two ladies having lunch, spending $300 was difficult, so we ended up ordering far more food than we normally would. The sashimi was fresh but cut thinly than what I've had at comparable restaurants. The hamachi kama, chirashi, and lobster mac and cheese were good. The green tea soufflé cheesecake was the biggest disappointment. For $10, it consisted of three very small cubes and felt overpriced. The waitstaff were attentive, friendly and professional, which helped salvage the experience. However, between the uncomfortable wait outside, the chaotic seating process, and the poor handling of the gift card, this visit did not live up to my previous experiences. While I have many good memories of Kata Robata, I'm not sure I'll be returning anytime soon.

They let us in early so we didn't have to stand out in the cold. The restaurant is small and quiet, with the sushi bar in the middle, where it's easy to see everything is made. We opted for the sashimi special, the takoyaki, the 4 season roll, and the gyu suji. The sashimi special was delicious, great cuts, nice and tender. The 4 season roll was also great, with good cuts of fish, not too fishy. The takoyaki was perfectly crispy with a good filling and just the right amount of octopus. We accidentally let the gyu suji sit out too long so it got cold and gelatinous, but they were super nice about reheating it for us. It ended up not being for me, beef tendon is just a bit too cartilaginous for me. Overall, a great experience! Will definitely need to be back!

Lightly dressed, amazing texture. 9/10 - Uni - Very high quality, no weird aftertaste, super vibrant. 9.5/10 - Wagyu sushi - Melted in my mouth. So rich and tender. 10/10 - Fatty tuna - STAR of the show. Literally melts, would order a whole plate of this if I could. 10/10 - Monaka (pastry w/ red bean, mochi, and matcha cream) - Not too sweet, perfect texture combo to end the meal. 10/10 Overall: such a well-executed omakase with high-quality fish and great service. Definitely a special occasion spot

My friends and I love to go for their once a month $5 nigiri night and never leave disappointed! When it comes to sushi, the limit does not exist, right? All of their nigiri and hand rolls can be ordered a la carte or if you're feeling a bit in decisive, they have several hand roll sets that come with 3-5 preselected options. On nigiri night, announced a few days in advance on their socials, almost all of their nigiri is $5. Chutoro, otoro, hamachi, all melt in your mouth quality, all included in the special. That's a yes from me. As I mentioned, my friends and I love to do this deal every month and every time the staff have all been super friendly and make you feel more than welcome, providing recommendations and stopping by frequently to take more orders. Norigami does have a hidden speakeasy, Hidden Bar, which can be accessed through an unmarked door at the front of the restaurant. Drinks, and most of the food options can be ordered at either the restaurant or the bar which caters to whatever vibe suits you best - dark, intimate cocktail bar or more traditional sushi restaurant where you can watch each roll being prepared fresh to order. The salmon tasted a little too fishy, and the hamachi hand roll fell short since I could barely taste the hamachi. However, the kanpachi was the standout of the night! It was buttery, flavorful, and easily the best fish I had there. The pricing was fair overall, and despite a few misses, the atmosphere and service made for a nice experience.
