Best kept secret... ssh! A conveyor belt paradise that I shouldn't give away, but they deserve acclaim. Astoundingly affordable, highly satisfying, a goto shop. The only glitch is that at times the conveyor brings a flood of menu signs, keeping you hungry for an actual dish! The tamago-tuna roll/wrap is a bit strange, like spiced sesame canned-tuna, disappointingly worth ignoring for a round. Environment: high ceiling. Not a super big place but they did a good job to make it nice, bright, and had booths on the inside and seats around on the outside. Staff: they were kind and got our orders quick and correctly. We ate a lot of food so I'll just summarize: 1. Loved the salmon. They were nice thick cuts and not fishy at all 2. Hamachi is usually very fishy but not this time. Again, great cuts and very fresh! 3. Calamari was also good. It was fried nicely and it had a good amount 4. Tonkatsu rice plate: the chicken tonkatsu was fried nicely, too Those are my recommendations from all the things we ate. The rice was on the bigger side and a tad sticky compared to other conveyor belt sushi rice but I'm glad they had sashimi options! The prices were also very reasonable. They had a lot of everything and stacked them quite high which was a bit dangerous because the plate you pick up tends to also lift up the lid from the bottom sushi so just be careful. It was my first time at Akira sushi in Tualatin. I definitely like this location and felt like it was convenient. We came in during lunchtime, and it was crowded after our arrival! I really appreciate how the conveyor belt was stacked with sushi plates. Each plate is by the color and it ranges between $1.95-$4. I ordered the age tofu, avocado roll, sweet potato, and super vegan roll. I really enjoyed the veggie options. The service was good. My rolls arrived quickly after I placed an order. read more

Sushi rolls on conveyor belt loop had sloppy presentation like it was their first day on the job making rolls compared to other local sushi restaurants with same serving apparatus. Flavor was not great on any of their sushi -and I even had made-to-order seared salmon. Worst sushi I've had in a long time. Not bad, but disappointing.. seems on par with what I would get at Fred Meyer or if IKEA decided to start serving sushi. Maybe the weekend food is better quality? This is one of the newest restaurants in Tualatin. I was hoping for a nice new addition. First, you should know this is a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. I think by default that tends to mean you should expect a little lower quality. You get a lot of sushi options. Quick eats. Grab what you like. Good for kids. Decent pricing. But don't expect high quality. It's the kind of place I would only go to if my kids were twisting my arm (mostly because they like the conveyor belt and grabbing the plates) but would not go back otherwise. There are some dishes you can order a la carte. 3-4 pieces of sushi on a plate. Different color plates mean different prices. On average, $3 per plate. Small beer around $5. Decent ambiance, but felt like could have been cleaner. Plastic caps covering the plates was a bit sticky. Service was ok, but just ok. You go to cash register to pay. Has a parking lot. Adjacent to Tualatin library. Unfortunately won't be a go-to place for me. read more
