I actually love this place. I have no clue how to say it though and most of the people I say it like the name "Nickie" and I don't agree with that but whatever. The sushi here is fantastic and I also love their ramen. Their presentation is great and I really like some of the larger sushi platters that come with fun things like dry ice. I have never had to wait for a table here and I've been here a few times. I have never ever had something bad here and the quality of the fish is great. Stopped in for a quick lunch. And walked away very satisfied. There is sushi on menu, of course, but also a lot more. Wound up having the Tempura Bento, with a piece of Unagi Nigiri on the side. The portions to price ratio here were surprisingly good and hearty. And our server was amazingly friendly. The other big plus here is the view and ambiance, since you can get a spot by the window to overlook the lake next door. And has a cool bar area if you'd rather order from the chefs or watch something on the screens. So overall, a really good neighborhood sushi and hibachi sort of joint. Let me tell you... this place is a hidden GEM. Never heard of the spot before, we wanted to go to Al's and everyone wanted sushi so we tried to find something close and found this spot. You're immediately welcomed by everyone when you walk in, we were seated right away and waters and utensils were brought out to us within a moment of sitting down. They have a rather large drink menu, fully stocked bar, and we all enjoyed the drinks we chose! Our waitress was very kind and helps us pick a few favorites as this was our first visit. The food took a little longer than expected to come out, but everyone's stuff came out at the same time, and drinks got to us fast so we enjoyed those and chatted while we waited. They also keep people spread out when they're not busy and I love that, I hate being grouped up and it makes a half empty restaurant feel so loud. The rolls, nigiri and salad with salmon were amazing. We were all shocked with how good everyone's food tasted and the worst part was we were full and couldn't try more. The place was clean, relatively quiet, great food, delicious drinks and our waitress was awesome. I would recommend this spot and look forward to my next time going. read more

1st time here. The staff were too plentiful at 5:30, so business must pick up quite a bit later on. We sat and were served very quickly. I tried a combo sushi plate. The snapper, yellowfin, and salmon were OK. Not the best, but good. The tuna was excellent for this price range. The shrimp and octopus weren't good. Not bad, just lacking flavor. The sushi rice was a bit sweet. Overall, the tuna is a great buy and the rest was decent for the price. We ordered the Shoyu Ramen as well. The noodles were good as were both broth and veggies. The egg they used was exceptional in flavor. The pork was just OK. We had tempura and once again found the shrimp dissapointing . The veggies were great and the tempura was cooked well and not oily. Not many people around me talk about how great Nikki's is. I really enjoy bringing my friends here to have a nice dinner. The sushi here is just amazing, always fresh, and the chefs always decorate the sushi very creatively. The ramen here is amazing for people who love ramen. I always loved the hibachis, which are always delicious. I also really like the patios by the back where you can see the lake. Sitting here in the evening, as the sun sets, is amazing. I like the Hibachi Combo (steak, shrimp) with grilled veggies and flavored rice, which are well seasoned and hearty, while the sushi selection is varied. Ordering takeout is terrible - the apps say it will be an hour and don't update. I've tried through Grubhub and Yelp and no difference it always estimates an hour or more and it's always wrong. I waited 45 min this time and then went in case it was done early and they told me it was done 20 min earlier. I showed them the app telling me it was still process. They said they updated it but clearly it didn't work. It wasn't terrible food but also our food was just sitting there for 20-30 min and could have been longer if I waited and that is not ok. Everyone else has figured this out, pretty unbelievable they can't. read more

We were there on a Monday evening and it took an hour to get our food after we sat down. Pretty pricey, and when we asked for a side of spicy mayo we were charged an extra dollar (she hadn't mentioned it would be extra when we asked). For an $18 roll you'd think you can get some courtesy spicy mayo on the side. Not a super vibey place, probably wouldn't celebrate a birthday here or anything. All in all I'm sure we will be back! My first time here. Friendly service. I would go back again sometime. Price is higher than I prefer to pay, but I assume it's partially because of the location. It's at Progress Ridge in the suburbs between Beaverton & Tigard. Must be a popular spot too because when we came in there was only one table occupied but by the time we left it was busy. Food wise the scallop hibachi plate was ok. The scallops were cooked very well, but the salad, rice and veggies were drowned. Too much dressing, oily rice, and overly sauced veggies and since the veggies and scallops were cooked and plated together the scallops got overly seasoned. Scallops are, in my opinion, something that really don't need extra seasoning. They're so good when very simply cooked. Sushi was great! Good cuts, quality, and delicious. read more
