The prices are fair (I personally like their 2 slices and a soda special), especially for how great the food turns out. The staff goes above and beyond to make your dining experience a new one! I don't usually review but I like this place and keep ordering out so want to compliment them on here. Very pleasant experience with delivery every time. The food is FRESH!! I've only ordered steak tip salads and pizza but all the ingredients are crisp and plump. The steak tips are delicious and the pizza is great. I want to say the pizza is nothing to write home about but it totally hits the spot when you're craving and with toppings, you're in for a treat. It tastes healthy - not like ten thousand calories - and my co-worker asked where I ordered it from because he thought it was delicious. On this occasion, I got my order to carry back to the office. I ordered by phone, and my salad was ready about 20 minutes later. There was a short line at the restaurant, but nothing unreasonable. The folks behind the counter were friendly, if a bit overwhelmed, but this was likely due to the lunch rush. My order was a teriyaki chicken caesar salad. Not your conventional order, but they were happy to accommodate and it's on their menu as an option. The chicken itself was, for the most part, very tender and the teriyaki sauce was the expected mix of sweet and salty. There was a LOT of connective tissue in the chicken, as if the prep cook had not been trained well on trimming basic cuts of chicken. My other complaint, and this is not unique to AK's, is that the salad came with the dressing and chicken segmented in their own containers, leaving me to toss it at my desk when I got back to the office. Pour, shake, more shaking, open, eat. This is surely intentional to allow people to "do their own thing" but if I'm paying $11+ for a salad, I don't want to have to make a mess before I can eat lunch. Gripe over. Good service, but the value just isn't there in terms of the quality of food. Quantity, you certainly get. 3.4/5, and I'll definitely be back in a month or two to give it another chance. read more

I am in town for work and was in need of some plain grilled chicken due to a strict meal plan. I'm car-less and had no idea where I could walk to, and a co-worker suggested AK's. When I started to explain what I needed, it was like the guy at the register read my mind! I would have been fine paying for the entire large sub and just getting the grilled chicken from him, but he did much better - I was charged a little less than the large sub, and unless they give you the biggest portion of chicken ever known to man in a sub, I got a really great deal. Two stars means "Meh. I've experienced better." is exactly right on how I feel about this place. The food is not bad, but service could be better. The bald guy that usually faces customers behind the register is rough and sometimes rude and not receptive to feedback. Prices for food are more expensive than competitors near by. Price and service is a part of my experience, and of all the places near by, even though the food here is on par with the other places, this place is last on my list because of worse service and price compared to their competitors. Had to take a driving class in Waltham, MA. This spot was right next door. I ordered online for pickup. It was easy. I walked over to pick it up and I was waiting behind someone, which was fine, until I heard the man behind the counter being rude to the man in front of me. I came up next, got my food (which was already paid for) and he didnt say much to me. I sat down and as I was eating I could still hear the man being rude to more customers. Then some lady came up and started ringing people up who was equally as rude. Long story short, they were just rude to anybody. The food quality was sucky. Love this new place!! We never really ordered from the place that was here before because it was just crappy college kid food, but we are so glad this has taken over! The salads are super fresh and tasty. They even added something to the menu because I was looking for falafel and hummus as a side. Really good falafel! My man likes their Buffalo chicken salad and I was impressed that the chicken was nice grilled chicken rather than those frozen chicken fingers. We have had a couple calzones which were good. I would recommend that they put the calzones on some cardboard in the box though rather than the paper because that stuck to the dough which was inconvenient. This is not somewhere I've ordered from before,just so happen to be in the area and ordered a spring mix salad with grilled chicken. When I sat down to eat it,(back at work by this time), I instantly knew I wasn't going to like it. It's Salad, shouldn't be that hard to mess up salad. The chicken was DRY and big chunks of it. So now instead of just eating it in a small 30 min time frame I have for lunch, I have to individually cut up each piece of chicken. The lettuce was old and wilted and the shredded carrots were clearly taken out of a bag and tossed on the salad. My most recent visit was a simple one. I asked for two orders of raw dough for large pizzas and a slice of double chocolate cake. I imagine requests for raw dough are not that common; however, they were happy to assist. I greatly appreciate their willingness to accommodate my special request. This is not your average pizza place!!! Yes the prices are what you'll pay at any other take out place. But the quality of the food and service is far superior. The guy that took my order was very friendly and since the menu offers a lot of different options, it took me a few mins to decide. So i decided to try the chicken bacon ranch pizza and it was just DELICIOUS!!! It was cooked to perfection & the chicken was yummy. My friend had the steak & cheese sub, i didnt try it but she said it was really good!!! We prefered to seat outside since the weather was nice & we really enjoyed it.
