I arrived here 30 minutes early for my appointment. They instruct you to arrive 15 minutes earlier. Upon check in, the clerks were nice. They gave me a huge cup of lemon flavored contrast to drink in preparation for my MRI. They told me I had to wait an hour before I could have the study done after finishing the contrast. Well, I waited almost the hour only to be told they had an emergency in the back and they could not accommodate me today. It would've been nice to tell me that before I drank that disgusting liquid, I asked if I could come back a little bit later, that was not an option for me. I told the lady that I had to take off from my job to get this done today and they are inconveniencing me. The only thing they could offer was late hours. I am not happy. Fast forward to the next day... I've had a horrible night and morning with GI upset from the contrast. What a nightmare! Fast forward 3 days... So I'm back on a rescheduled appt. Came in 7am, checked in (no issues because everything was completed 3 days ago including my co-pay). Got called in a few minutes later. Experience was good once I got in. I got changed to put a gown on, a tech put in my IV, flushed it, it was patent, all good. I put on a gown, they walked me through the process, study went quick and smooth. IV removed and I was changed and out. I was told I could request CD of images on the way out. Today's experience is how it should've went the first time. I'm still wondering why I was given oral contrast the first time I came because there was none given today (thinking emoji). read more

Had a 1PM appointment for a CT Scan.. I was greeted by an expressionless receptionist. They called the day before requesting that I should arrive at 1245. I arrived on time. The receptionist had me fill out 3 forms, even though I filled out several forms online the previous week. I was told to have a seat and wait for my name called. One hour passed and they called me to the desk, requesting that I fill out more paperwork for the insurance company. Then I was told the procedure would cost $395 after I was told yesterday when they confirmed the appointment that my cost would be $65. The time is now 2:15PM and I am still waiting. I will avoid using this facility again as they seem disorganized. Talk about a total disregard of my time! read more

I have been receiving MRIs for over 20 years, and my expectations were not very high, as I'm not fond of doing MRIs - I would even go so far as to say it's one of my least favorite things in life. All of that stated, I was in for such a great surprise today when I went to Akumin in Aventura!!! Scheduling was a little bit of a challenge (I required an obscene amount of imaging) and I did that over the phone using their main call center #, however, as soon as I got scheduled in the Aventura office, Natalie reached out to me to confirm my appointments, and see if I had any questions, and ensure I was fully prepared since I need LOTS of MRIs this time. I would also like to say it's my first time using Akumin in Aventura. Again, had a little scheduling snafu with the call center, as they were trying to consolidate my appointments, I accidentally got rescheduled in another office & was frustratingly told there was nothing available in the Aventura office anymore. Much to my delight, shortly thereafter, Natalie reached out and asked why I rescheduled somewhere else, and when I explained the situation, she fixed it so that I was able to go to the location closest to my home, in Aventura, Florida. That simple act of making my appointments closer to home, was such a VERY BIG DEAL to me, and again, I have Natalie to thank!!! Upon my arrival, Natalie confirmed my appointments & got me checked in so seamlessly, she was even able to get everything adjusted with my insurance, and the cherry on top was when she consolidated some of my appointments, that had been spread out over multiple days, from when I was originally scheduled via the main call center #. I am so thankful to Natalie for being able to streamline my MRI schedule!!! Additionally, Natalie went above and beyond by being able to add additional MRIs to today, so that instead of making this an even more drawn out process, we were able to get the most difficult day out of the way first - I feel eternally grateful to Natalie for that help!!!! ALL of the women who work there, that I interacted with, are FANTASTIC!!! Not sure if it is an all female staff, but it was when I went there, and I didn't realize until I was receiving treatment, how nurturing and calming that was, especially because I felt very vulnerable because I am in pain. I also want to say a special thank you to my MRI technician, and I feel terrible, but I do not know her name. She went above and beyond to do the maximum that we could today, and not only did she squeeze me in in between patients, and make it so that we could get as much done as possible today, she did it with a smile, a caring touch, and such a calm and pleasant demeanor!!! I cannot speak highly enough of the two ladies that I interacted with most today, as well as this entire office!! if you are in need of an MRI or any imaging, I would strongly urge you to go to Akumin in Aventura - otherwise, you're just settling - why do that when you can have the best?!?!! To management/the owners, if you are contemplating whether or not to give Natalie and the MRI technician from this evening a raise or holiday bonus, I will tell you that based on my experience, they absolutely deserve it, and probably should be making more than what you were thinking, because they make a difference by being so nice and welcoming, and I'm actually looking forward to completing my appointments there tomorrow evening!!! Extremely disappointing experience with Acumin. I called the day before to confirm whether they perform a venous ultrasound of the legs. Despite several long holds, I was repeatedly told that they do offer this test, and an appointment was scheduled for 8:00 AM. I canceled all my morning plans and arrived on time. They had me fill out multiple forms and even collected payment, explaining that this was the cost with my insurance deductible. After waiting about 20 minutes, I was suddenly told that they do not perform this test at all. I then asked if they could at least help me find another clinic nearby that actually performs this type of ultrasound. They refused, saying it was "not their job." To make things even worse, the supervisor/manager, Damaris, was extremely rude. Instead of taking responsibility, she "apologized" by raising her voice at me, showing no care or concern for the inconvenience they caused. This experience was unprofessional, disorganized, and disrespectful from start to finish. I would not recommend this location to anyone who expects reliable information or basic customer service. read more

Get ready to wait for hours in the waiting room. They know how to book you, but they have no idea how to keep your slot nor what their schedule looks like. Second time I'm here, average wait is two hours AFTER your scheduled appointment. The phone number goes to scheduling in other country and they have no idea. Front desk has zero idea about privacy, medical records handling and records release. Their online forms are a collection of idiotic questions that require idiotic answers, but they provide service until you guess the correct button to click, and clinical information makes zero sense. I'm sure providers won't even look at it judging by the options patients have to fill in. They consistently refuse to provide records, as I observed patients turned away, while sitting for hours in the lobby. The place is run completely unprofessional. read more

I waited for over an hour for my appointment scheduled far in advanced. I called twice to insure there was no co pay with affirmation from both my insurance and Akumin. The ignorant office clerk told me the wording on the order was wrong. This entire experience has been horrible. The service clerk completely forgot about me and just let me keep waiting. I had to call my insurance because of her incompetence. I drove 45 minutes to get here and arrived with a completely different conversation based on the over all incompetence of Akumin and this specific facility. I strongly suggest scheduling your breast mammogram and ultrasound elsewhere. Save yourself the frustration of a completely uncaring and incompetent staff. What can you improve Akumin Adventura? Your online check-in is antiquated and limiting. No one knew what my order said because 1.) they didn't ask. 2.) your online checkin isn't set up properly. 3.) A courtesy call to confirm the type of order so you don't waist everyone's time since nothing is set up properly! Stop waisting peoples time because you are not technically equipped. Hire competent caring people who know enough to ask the proper questions in advance. The front desk clerks have no idea what they are doing and do not exhibit care or empathy. Horrible experience. This was my first time here. Easily accessible, no issues with parking. Waiting center was clean and pleasant. Front desk attendant Damaris was soooo helpful and professional! She saw I had other exams to do that were scheduled in their Ft. Lauderdale location. She was able to switch them for me to their location in Aventura (saved me a long drive and additional time I would have taken off to be able to get the exams done). On top of that, she saved me money by double checking with my insurance what my co-pay would be instead of just mindlessly going through the routine and just charging without asking questions. She was beyond helpful. The young lady that did my ultrasound as well was really nice and professional. She made sure I was comfortable and asked if I had any questions. She was informative. I arrived at the women's clinic for a mammogram exam and these idiots advised that I am not able to be seen because I didn't bring a report that they NEVER advised me to bring. I called this office twice - once to set my appointment and the second to confirm my appointment and what I would need to bring. I was told to bring my I'd and insurance card. I caught an Uber to come here. How on earth are there such incompetent people working at a medical facility?!?! Not only was I inconvenienced with time but also money I paid to catch an Uber. 2925 Aventura Blvd. Terrible decision making by Ivonne at the front desk. Someone came in extra late for an MRI due to being lost supposedly and instead of sticking to her first decision to make the late person reschedule or go after the rest of us, she just let her go in ahead of us. So my 630 appt became a 7pm appt, finally leaving the office at 730pm. Another person who also came in late was also allowed to just go in. There is no respect here for folks who come on time or have later appts that day especially knowing that these MRIs take at least 20-30 minutes each. Go elsewhere, not reliable for scheduling. The internal scheduling dept does not coordinate with insurance authorization dept nor do they followup on ensuring the prescription is received. Had 3rd party authorization from insurance and script sent from doctor with actual authorization number on script and they called the evening before to advise no authorization was received. Over the course of 1 day, spoke to supervisor and numerous scheduling personnel and they gave me another appt weeks away. Wasted hours and hours on the phone.
