I took my mom to Aleppo's last week and this sweet server who I unfortunately forgot her name but had beautiful curly hair served us and was so sweet and was making an effort to talk to us. Overall just making us feel more comfortable and making the restaurant more "homie." She also recommended the best dishes which made it easier for my mom and I! Aleppo Kitchen has some of the best chicken I've had in Anaheim. I ordered the chicken kebab, and it was incredibly juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. The seasoning was perfectly balanced, and you could tell it was grilled fresh. If you're looking for something more portable, they also serve the same delicious chicken as a wrap, which is just as good. Whether you go with the kebab or the wrap, you really can't go wrong. Aleppo's might actually be my new favorite restaurant. Every single dish on the menu has been phenomenal, I feel so lucky to have this so close to home. Out favorite is obviously the mansaf, it is tender and crafted to perfection. I would have this every single day if i could. Food was okay, but the bill was shocking. We were charged around $300 for a very ordinary meal, and after reviewing the receipt, I found three separate extra charges: a group charge, automatic gratuity, and a service fee. Apparently, a family of two adults and four children (ages 13, 12, 4, and 3) qualifies as a "large group." Between these added fees, well over $100 was added to the bill. Charging a mandatory tip is one thing, but adding multiple extra fees on top of that feels excessive and misleading. I have been dining at restaurants my entire life and have never seen a family our size treated as a large group and hit with this many mandatory charges. What made it worse was that none of this was clearly communicated beforehand. Customers should know about these fees before ordering, not discover them after the meal when it's time to pay. The food was decent, but not nearly good enough to justify the price once all the extra charges were added. This place is overrated, and the billing practices left a much stronger impression than the food itself. I will not be returning. read more

The cheese sticks were crisp and scrumptious, the lamb was tender, and the rice was very flavorful. The nuts add a good contrast to the rice dishes as well. Let's just get right down to it. Get the 3 dip sampler. It comes with hummus, mutabbal (eggplant), and muhammara (Aleppo peppers with walnuts) which aren't like any you've tasted before. This is not your standard one dimensional pasty hummus. Mutabbal is usually my favorite dip and Aleppo hits it right out of the park. Muhammara - wow, how have I not had this before? The smokiness, the walnuts, it was perfect dipping with the (very hot) pita. Dare I say this was my favorite of the three? Had a family lunch and was able to make a reservation during busy weekend which was a big plus in choosing to come. It has a bright ambiance and welcoming staff. I believe this is Syrian cuisine so some of the menu items I was a bit unfamiliar with when comparing usual Mediterranean restaurant. Everyone enjoyed their food and it was quite a large portion. I got the kefta kabobs with a spicy tomato salsa like sauce. It came with 4 kebabs so I had leftovers for the next day. Most places usually give 2. It also came with an interesting flatbread pizza sandwich thing on the side. I also discovered how delicious Muhammara is. It's a dip that's made with walnuts and pomegranate molasses. Hard to believe that I've not written a review of Aleppo's Kitchen which I have been visiting ever since I move here to Anaheim and when they still were on Brookehurst Ave. Fast forward the restaurant is now within minutes from my place and it is very nice and clean and modern. For my lunch I ended up getting the Lentil Soup ( which I love) and the Gyro Flatbread. The Flatbread was ok but not great and I wish I would have ordered something different instead. I received a 15% off ticket when I parked for an Angels game. Aleppo's Kitchen shares the same parking lot. I finally got a chance to use it for my birthday. I ordered the kebab plate that came with chicken, fillet mignon, and the ground beef skewer. My wife got the lamb shank. When the dishes arrived, I immediately tried the rice and it didn't have any flavor the same with the meats. Only the chicken tasted delicious. We are blessed with a lot of excellent Arab restaurants in Anaheim and glad I finally gave Aleppo's a try. Stand outs were the Syrian style dumplings in yogurt sauce, lahmajeen flatbread, grape leaves and grilled halloumi salad. Kibbeh was also good but probably don't need the mixed platter as they are just different shapes of the same thing. Also didn't really care for their falafel. And don't skip the pot of mint tea! Service was friendly and the restaurant is inviting with plenty of seating. Aleppo's had great reviews, so we knew we had to try it. We added a couple platters so we could get a better feel for the place. It's also a hookah lounge, which I'm sure gets super busy at night. The Lamb Mansaf was good, but honestly, the portion was smaller than expected -- kinda weird because "Mansaf" in Arabic means a big dish. The dish should've been bigger; I felt like it needed more rice. That said, the almonds added a nice crunch, and it was packed with warm spices like cardamom, allspice, and cinnamon. We also ordered a variety of meats with rice to sample different dishes. The chicken and steak were fire, but the kofta needed some work. The rice was also smaller than I expected. Ambience: Pretty chill spot tucked into the corner of a plaza -- not fancy, but definitely comfortable. There's an indoor area for dining and an outdoor patio that's popular for hookah. Even on a busy Friday evening, there was plenty of space and easy parking in the plaza. My only small gripe is that the parking lot was a bit dark; some extra lighting would make it feel cozier and safer at night. Food: Absolutely amazing. Every dish impressed me. We started with the dipping sampler -- hummus, baba ghanoush, and a red pepper sauce. The hummus was silky and rich, the baba ghanoush had the perfect tang without being too salty, and the sauces paired beautifully with the warm, fresh pita (three generous rounds, about 6 inches each). The Mediterranean fries arrived last, but they were worth the wait -- perfectly crispy, topped with tomatoes, feta, parsley, and paprika. Delicious on their own or dipped in any of the sampler sauces. The beet salad was another standout -- a balanced mix of arugula and beets with pickled onions, walnuts, feta, and radishes tossed in a light vinaigrette. Generous portion, easily sharable for two or even three people. And the lamb shank... incredible. Tender, flavorful, and fall-off-the-bone soft. The rice underneath was aromatic and topped with toasted almonds, with a tangy yogurt sauce that brought it all together. Easily one of the best lamb dishes I've had in a long time. Service: Friendly, attentive, and relaxed. The food came out very quickly. The staff checked in just enough without hovering. Food came out steadily, and even though it was a busy evening, everything was served hot and fresh. I finally made it back for the Shish Barak (Syrian ravioli), and WOW! It was one of the most unique dishes I've had in a long time. No better way to describe it. The rich yogurt sauce was incredible, and the Aleppo rice paired perfectly with it. I also got the Meat-Topped Flatbread (I wanted something with cheese and accidentally ordered the wrong one). It was pretty meh by itself, but it ended up being a great vehicle to soak up the rest of the ravioli sauce. I know this is a weird thing to highlight, but I have to give credit to their ice water. Yes, their ice water. So clean, crisp, and refreshing. I had three glasses, which probably tells you the basics matter to them. Of everything I've tried at here, the Shish Barak is the only dish in a league of its own. It's an absolute must-try! I highly recommend ordering it dine-in. And don't skip the ice water either! A delicious meal that exceeded my expectations!  I got the Gyro Flatbread and Kibbeh Labanieh, which were both flavorful and had just the right amount of creamy yogurt sauce. Sometimes cream-based dishes can feel heavy, but these were perfectly balanced. I especially loved the Kibbeh Labanieh, which is like a dumpling filled with savory ground meat. It stayed hot throughout the meal. The portions were also just right for sharing between two people. I came on a weekday around 8 PM. It was not busy and very spacious and clean inside. Came to Aleppo's with a big group for a friends birthday dinner and all the food was amazing. My favorites were: - Fattoush Salad - Mediterranean Trio Dip - Lamb Kabsa - Gyro Flatbread - Knafeh Servers were very nice and food came out at a good pace for our big group! My dad found this restaurant and he never suggests a specific restaurant so obviously that meant we had to try it! My entire family loved this place and the food was amazing. I didn't know Anaheim such good food! We came in on a Sunday afternoon for a quick lunch and the service was great. Menu had options from salads and cold appetizers to kebab plates, flatbreads and wraps. We got a Persian salad to share and this was very refreshing, tart and minty! Both of my parents got kebab plates which came with a side of rice and grilled vegetables as well as a slaw type of salad and I got a chicken shawarma wrap with a side of fries. Everything tasted great and came out fresh. Though the chicken kebab was so juicy and tender, I do recommend getting the mixed kebab plate so you can try all the meats. Not your normal middle eastern menu-but better! Food was delicious and different. My cousin took me here because we wanted middle eastern food but something different and it really was. All cooked in the kitchen by the owner chef herself. We ordered the Fatouche Salad and Kibbeh Nayyeh to start with and for dinner we split an order of the Shish Barak. Each bite of the salad was amazing and filled with flavor and perfect balance of texture and spices. Pita bread is also served on the table, and the Kibbeh Nayyeh is served with mint leaves and onions that you eat with the pita. But the best was the Shish Barak (Syrian Ravioli). The dumplings were coked to perfection in a rich yogurt sauce and served with rice. Everything was excellent and the restaurant is more like fine dining. We sat in their hookah patio which is lit up with chandeliers, and heated with warmers and fire pits. There's a cute little shop at the entrance with beautiful Syrian hand made items from wood and mother of pearl, like jewelry boxes, soap sets/boxes, chess boards and other trinkets. As we walked through the restaurant to the rear where our table would be, I kept smelling bursts of amazing food and spices, then as we passed the drink prep area, I smelled "clean"-like as in sterile/cleanser. I never smell clean in restaurants or it's rare. I loved that and it made me even more confident in eating there. But the most important and best part of my experience there was the service-I've never ever gone to a Middle Eastern restaurant where they had both good food and good service. It's always one or the other and Ive already accepted that the service will suck because the food is amazing when I go to good middle eastern restaurants. But not at this place. The food is amazing and the service was on point! We never had to wait longer than 5 minutes to request something from or see our waitress. The waiters were always around, monitoring our needs and they weren't overwhelmed waiting more tables than they each could handle. We didn't spend 2.5 hours at this restaurant mostly waiting to make eye contact with our waiter to get there attention to ask for a refill, more napkins, a utensil, our check or waiting for our food. Nope-not here. Service was on point. We didn't order any coffee/tea or desert because we were stuffed and we took our leftovers home. We also did not stay to have hookah there this time either. But maybe next time. Prices are a little on the higher side, but the food, service abd ambience is well worth it. It's fine dining and classy. There used to be a Rubio's in the same parking lot back in the day, but now there are a few boutique spots. There's plenty of parking but watch out for the 30 min. spots. Inside, the place looks pretty authentic. Isabelle was our server and was pretty knowledgeable, offering great recommendations on the menu. I ordered a gyro bowl and Turkish coffee and enjoyed both. I don't usually leave reviews, which makes this especially disappointing because we truly enjoy the food here. Honestly, I think this place is even better than Panini, which we also like. What left a bad impression was the pricing approach and customer service. They charge for every little extra, including hot sauce or garlic sauce. We were charged $2 for sauce, which feels excessive when entree prices are already $25+. The bigger issue was the Turkish coffee. We confirmed with the waitress that we wanted one order. She brought one coffee in a jar with one tiny cup. When I asked for an extra small cup for my wife, we were later charged for two Turkish coffees simply because we asked for another cup. That is unreasonable, and it should have been clearly communicated upfront. We live very close by, so this is frustrating because the food quality is genuinely great. But the business model and service take away from the experience. My suggestion is simple: if you need to charge more, just raise the menu prices.
