Al & Mick's BBQ is an all-around winner of a restaurant. It has a cool log cabin type ambiance, the service is incredibly attentive, friendly and professional and the food is very good. I walked in on a Sunday afternoon (October 1, 2023) maybe 4:15 or 4:30 and it was not too busy, but not necessarily dead either. The staff there was incredibly friendly and I chose a table. I really liked the log cabin atmosphere and my server was great. Since I am trying to drop a few pounds, I went with the grilled catfish and for my sides, I went with coleslaw and green beans. It was very good and made the diet a bit easier to do when you can eat tasty food. I would definitely return here and look forward to returning after the diet brings me down those ten pounds. I would definitely recommend it and I will give it five stars overall.

The food was good and came out in a great time. The staff was very professional and operated with the highest propriety. The restaurant is very clean and cozy. Warning: if you are not from the area and military, the local Sheriff will remind you how John Rambo felt in the first Rambo movie.

The pulled pork was nice and which is exactly what I had hoped for. My baked beans were also packed full of flavor and my chicken was nice and juicy. At 17 dollars this was great value. The servers here were very friendly as well. I wouldn't mind eating at this place in the future.

A good stop along the road for lunch. Friendly and efficient staff. The place is clean and suits the theme--log cabin with a stone fireplace. Lots of parking too! We had pork sandwich and patty melt with onion rings. They were lightly coated and fried thin. Both sandwiches came on Texas Toast toasted with butter, and there was more than enough onion rings in one order to share. We really enjoyed it.

Ridiculously good food! Really neat environment to eat in. I wish I lived closer because they would get my business multiple times a week.

This is the best BBQ pork that I've eaten at a restaurant, succulent, delicate, smokey, flavorful, esthetically appealing, and it makes me wish that we had something like this in the Atlanta area. I love fried okra, when it's cooked properly, and with that comes critical feedback; their version reminds me of how my grandmother made her fried okra (and that's the standard I use to measure all others by.) The mixed greens had a slight hint of smoky ham hock, probably could have benefitted from a little more salt, but I understand that some people have to watch their sodium intake so I bet the restaurant leaves that up to the customer. Our server was a delight, very smiley and cheery, welcoming, etc. Inside, it feels like they have preserved history and married it to classy modernity. The next time I visit Albertville, this will be on the to-do list. Keep up the good work, folks!

One piece of advice, is avoid the baked beans. They're a bit overly sweet. And to me baked beans should have some bacon in them or something like that. These disappointed a bit. But the barbecue is phenomenal. And to be honest, the thing that really stole the show was at noon they play the national anthem and everybody stands to face the flag, I love the patriotic atmosphere and you can tell that this place is run by people who care. Not do they only put pride in their food, but you can tell that they have pride in their country and I'm coming back just for that reason alone!

Like I said, this operation is drive-through only, so all meals are made to-go. I got mine shortly after work for a late lunch. City harbor is a short drive away, so I toodled over there for a view of the water while I ate. The drive through line moved quickly enough. The menu has bbq, the less fancy bbq sides (beans, slaw, chips), family pack meals for a variety of crowd sizes, as well as loaded potatoes and nachos. I selected a pork loaded baked potato with a Diet Pepsi (iirc - don't think it was Coke). I think my lunch ~$12, which isn't too bad for the serving sizes. The lady at the drive through was polite and welcoming. My pork tater was quite large and came with liquidy butter, cheese, and dollops of sour cream and bacon bits on top. The bacon bits, while the pre-packaged salad garnish kind, are a pleasant surprise - you don't often get those on bbq taters without asking. The potato was cooked nicely, still warm and soft. I genuinely enjoyed the Que, enough so that I'd get it on a sandwich or on a plate without the goodness of a potato there as backup, lol. I don't like bbq sauce on my taters but I did dip a small piece of pork in the cup they gave me. It's a more vinegar based sauce, but it had enough sweetness to it that I still enjoyed it. Thanks for a quick, easy, and tasty lunch!

This is a simple, family owned,…read moreand local southern business that takes pride in their food and feels a responsibility to their community. It's a humble restaurant, the inside isn't going to wow you - cabin like appearance and very simple seating. And you can smell the smoke as you pull up. Nothing new here in ages other than the very humble banquet hall that has just popped up. Your mind will drift back to an earlier time where a rail side bbq restaurant pops up to feed the locals. I honestly can't imagine ever going back to the big city for a "culinary experience" as long as I have eating options like this. Bon Appetit / happy eating, yelpers!

I've been to a couple barbeque places in Scottsboro, and this is my favorite so far. The parking lot is a little bumpy / pot-holey so be careful pulling in. I rolled into the restaurant and immediately felt that this was a local-type spot. The man operating the cash register was engaged in a very friendly, familiar conversations with someone eating there. However, he paused his conversation immediately when I walked up to him and taught me about the different sauces they offered. I'm glad he did, because I definitely have bbq sauce preferences, and he steered me in the right direction! Their fairly large menu is handwritten on the board behind the register, but I opted for a lunch deal they had running - a small pulled pork sandwich with chips and a drink for only $5!! Now granted, it was a small sandwich -- if you were starving you'd likely need a little something extra -- but for how delicious the sandwich was and for that cheap, you really can't do much better than that! The pulled pork itself was really, really good - honestly some of the best bbq I've had in north Alabama. Tender, moist, moderately smoky, not too fatty. Really, really good stuff. The sweet sauce the man at the register set me up with was good too, also faintly smoky and tangy on top of the usual sweet tomato flavor. It was a delicious sandwich, and the sweet tea I got was good too, though maybe not quite sweet enough for me. I plan on coming back with family so we can try some of their other bbq. If the pork stays consistent and the other stuff is even 75% as good, this could definitely be a 5 star spot. Check it out if you're in the area!
