Was quite excited to try out this new restaurant on Devon. I was happy with the food and the choices. We first went during Ramadan and got the buffet. I'm sorry but $50 for a buffet is unacceptable. I get that it's during a holiday time and it gets busy but even buffets in downtown are around $20. On top of that, there was a 18% surcharge... for what?! All they did was seat us and then bring a soda since the rest was self service! They were carving and cutting fresh lamb in the buffet line but it was the blandest meat I've ever tried. No seasoning, no masala. The second time experience went a little better when we did a la carte and the prices were more reasonable. Everything was made according to the requested spice level but I would prefer more boneless dishes. I also don't understand how they decide to seat in the dining rooms. It seems like there is a more casual quick section and then a more formal dining room. The kids that work there provided good service and were friendly. read more

This place is honestly incredible. The staff is friendly, the interior is nice, but the food is so so good. The dishes come out nice and hot including the naan which was the freshest I've had - it was hot and fluffy and flavorful. Could not have been more satisfied, will be returning forever. read more

Honestly I was so hyped to try this place. I was seated promptly on a Friday evening. The place was busy. I ordered the lamb/beef shawarma and the green drink. The shawarma meat was bland at best, lacking in seasoning the accompanying salad was absolutely plain with no dressing. The drink was refreshing but too sweet. I enjoyed the service and the Dubai chocolate. With all the other places in town, they need to improve the flavor for me to consider returning. read more

Entering the place everyone was friendly and acknowledged us. The place looked very clean, even the kitchen because you are able to look right into the kitchen. We were offered a complimentary appetizer with olives, squash, and a dip with pieces of naan bread. It was good. We also had 3 different hummus. They taste freshly made. We ordered falafel as an appetizer and they were really flavorful. My friend and I both ordered the mixed grill. Honestly we probably could've shared an order. The rice wasn't so flavorful and I had to add a bit of salt to the beef, and it tasted fine afterwards. Perhaps the flavor needed to soak in because it was great as leftovers. We also had the veggie biryani. That was delicious and paired well with the mix grill. I would definitely comeback to this place because I do want to try more of the pakistanian food options. read more

Have to highlight that the kitchen staff wasn't a different race cooking this middle eastern food.. we saw middle eastern staff cooking so Im guessing its good authentic food. They have buffet on Friday 2-6pm! Came here only for snacks and it was really good. Saw people ordering platters and meats! Good service and attentive staff. Had the Adeni tea (yemeni tea) and turkish coffee and the kanefa was so good. Smells very perfumy inside. The morroccan lamps was a vibe! Well decorated place with clean bathroom. read more

Nice mix of cuisines - the space houses Al Badia (Middle Eastern grill), Anmol (Indian/Pakistani grill) and Tandoori. My friend and I shared Palak Paneer (Tandoori menu) and Bihari kebab (Anmol menu). Both were tasty and satisfying. The restaurant serves a cup of Arabic coffee (the best coffee) a plate of muhammara (tomato and sesame spread) and spicy olives before the meal, which is a nice touch. We took home a container of gajar halva (carrot halvah) which was both huge and delicious. Service is great, too. read more

we went to this restaurant for the first time to try their food. Food was ok, but service was terrible waiters unprofessional. I asked for diet coke or Pepsi, but waiter said they do not have diet coke or diet Pepsi. How these people operate their business not stocking diet sodas. Beside this, we have to ask for to bring water on the table. They did not provide enough plates for 11 people again we have to ask for. They should improve their customer service otherwise this kind of service, they will end up closing the business. We will not go again or recommend to anyone to try this place. read more

Salmon, I'd say was a bit dry but the rest of the food was fantastic. Their yogurt side dish is one of the freshest I've tasted. I believe it's made in-house. Went by Little India in Chicago today and had a late lunch/early supper at AL Badia. We did not have the buffet so I cannot say one way or another. OTOH the pakora chicken (I was told was more Pakistani than Indian) was to die for, I'd never had it before! The portion was so large it'd be enough for 1 and 1/2 dinners, and at a great price as well. The nan was offered freely and generously. My spouse very much enjoyed the Tikki Masala and chi as well. Atmosphere was good, service was swift, accurate and cordial. I'd strongly recommend going, even if all you want is the pakora chicken! read more

A new restaurant on Devon Avenue which is quite different from the other eateries out there. The decor is very well done as per a Persian theme, the staff are well dressed and fully aware of the menu and offer helpful suggestions. The food is something to rave about right from the succulent kababs served sizzling in a platter along with their tasty garlic naan bread and rice to the Nihari which was cooked to perfection and topped off with their Mango Lassi and Strawberry Banana Shake all of which was served so elegantly by Emma who very helpfully recommended dishes and drinks and waited on us all the time anticipating our needs before we could even think about asking for it. The place is extremely clean and run professionally and the food is Halal and made by top quality chefs for a consistent taste and flavor.
