Awful service, i don't like bringing local restaurants down but I don't want anyone else to waste their time or money on this place. First it took over an hour and a half to get food after ordering, and then they got an order wrong which was calmly pointed out by a member of my table. The waitress proceeded to argue and say that the order was correct, the other people in our group told the waitress that our other group member had in fact ordered something else and she proceeded to say we were all wrong. The other waitress then offered to exchange the plate, after waiting an hour and a half our group didn't want to wait longer for a new plate and asked for it to just be taken off the bill. They refused and argued again asking why they would do that. Overall there are definitely better places to go. This restaurant used to have great service, I hate that there customer service have gone down hill. read more

Most flavorful Mexican Rice I have ever tasted! Entire meal was exceptional. Perfect stop for a meal on the way, or return from the coast!

Wear warm clothes it is a chilly restaurant. I might have made a poor choice in ordering fish tacos but the overwhelming fish flavor was more than I could handle. I took one bite and couldn't continue. I asked the waitress to take the tacos away and we didnt want to wait to have another meal prepared so i did not get anything else. There was no attempt to improve the experience and we were changed the full price of the meal. They were out of whole beans so refried beans were the only option. I will probably give them another try at some point but this experience was not pleasing. read more

We were celebrating my daughter's birthday and thought we would try out the new mexican restaurant as it had great reviews. I called ahead for party of 10. We arrived and waited at the door for about 5 minutes before greeted. At the time their were only 2 other customers in the restaurant. We were seated and given menus, waited about 15 min before drink orders were taken. In the mean time a party of 4 came in and I noticed they also waited a long time before being greeted and seated. My husband went to the counter and let them know we were ready to order, at this point we had been there 30 minutes and still no drinks. We continued to wait and noticed the party of 4 left without being served and appeared unhappy. We waited another 15 min still no drinks and no food order taken. We have NEVER left a restaurant but there were only 2 other people in the restaurant at this point and so we got up and left, total time wasted 50minutes. read more

Went in for the first time a few days ago with my fiancée on a date. Honestly, I was very disappointed. Upon walking in, there was no clear direction as to if we seat ourselves or not (The place was also completely empty at 4-5 o'clock in the evening), but the Hostess (or waitress..??) quickly called from somewhere in the back, to seat ourselves so that matter was settled very quickly. However, after sitting down, the Hostess/ waitress forgot we had sat down for about 10 minutes, which she verbally said to herself quit loudly. The menus that we were given were different then the ones posted online previously. It had roughly a third of the selection, which was disappointing. She gave us the salsa and chips, and took our drink orders (Two margarita's and a glass of water). I would like to be very clear, the "salsa" was absolutely DISGUSTING. It tasted like a cup of watered down marinara sauce with a teaspoon of chopped veggies. (We overheard the waitress telling another costumer from across the room that they were teaching the new cook how to make it and, I quote "This is what he came up with". I'm just glad I didn't pay for it.) While we waited (for 20 minutes, we timed it.) I had a chance to look around. The place.. has a lot of potential, to say it lightly. It has a nice blank canvas atmosphere to it. Which is nice for the owners who are still building it up but not for a new costumer. It's has a very cluttered feeling and a lot of the decor and furniture honestly does not go together or go with the theme of the restaurant. With just the atmosphere alone, I would have assumed it was a rustic Italian restaurant. Just to clarify quickly, I went into this place with an open mind, however with the business being open for at least four-six months ( I could be wrong ) I expected better. Once our margaritas had arrived (I had to wait another ten minutes for my water), we ordered our food; a burrito (with chicken), a portobello mushroom with steak, and a side of guacamole and chips. It roughly took about 20-30 minutes. Which sounds not bad, however with the place now only having one or two other costumers who had just sat down, the wait time was unacceptable. Once our food had arrived, we were eager to dig in. With all the reviews of how good the food was, we were excited to try it and see if the food alone could be the savior to this date. It was purely average to say the least. Everything tasted like something we could have made at home. The steak was cold, the burrito was lacking in flavor and the "chicken" was one small strip mostly on one end, and the guacamole was okey, but it's hard to mess that up. The cheese on the guacamole made it a unique difference from other restaurants. Overall- *The hospitality and atmosphere need clear and immediate upgrading. *The salsa at the beginning would have made me leave IMMEDIATELY if I had been alone. IT WAS THAT BAD. *The food is lackluster and needs improvement. *The margaritas are FANTASTIC and I would come back just for those, but then again, getting a bit buzzed could be the key to finding this place appealing. However, I asked for one blended and I was brought a margarita with the top quarter having been blended and the rest was just cold mix. Still tasted good. I gave a two star for the room for improvement and the margaritas were tasty. I'm open to trying this place again in the future but I don't see any clear sign that anything will be improved any time soon. read more

Wait time is awful called an order in and waited 40 minutes before we got to the restaurant and then waited 1 hour in the restaurant still with no food. Not worth the price. And the food somehow has no flavor. read more

Went to Al Carbon last week and the food was awesome and lots of it. Salsa was great but did taste like it had a bit much vinegar?? on the back end but still was great. Definitely going back. In fact I am going to order take out as I speak. read more

Taco salad was amazing and so was the bacon wrapped shrimp! Totally worth the drive, we are definitely coming back.

McCleary has a great Mexican restaurant! Though they are still waiting on their liquor license the food is too good to pass up. Their chile rellenos are delicious, filled with so much cheese. Even a basic enchilada was better than most. The Mocajete is fantastic, gigantic and enough for two to share. Basically, everything is tasty and I can't wait to have a maragarita with the food when they are able to start serving adult beverages. read more

My husband and I came in for lunch today. We were greeted and told to sit wherever we wanted. The server immediately brought us a basket of chips and a container of salsa. The chips tasted fresh, the salsa had a good amount of spice, it's blended to be more of a thick sauce than a chunky salsa. We both ordered sodas, were a little bummed in the selection of soda, they do not seem to have a fountain machine, we could hear them opening a can and pouring it into a glass of ice. Hopefully they add a soda fountain soon and offer more than just Sprite, Pepsi, and Diet. I ordered the weekly special, it came with a choice of two items (I picked the Chicken Enchilada, and the Beef Burrito), my husband ordered a carne asada sandwich on a toasted hoagie roll. The rice and beans were hot, and very good. The enchilada was a bit smaller than I am used to but it was good (the sauce isn't like what I've ever had for an enchilada but it wasn't bad). The beef burrito had a green sauce which tasted fresh. One thing I was surprised with was the lack of cheese in the enchilada/burrito. I'm used to Mexican food being very cheesy, but this was not. My husbands sandwich was a decent size it had a layer of refried beans under the meat which gave it a little more heartiness. It wasn't my favorite Mexican food I've ever had, but I'm sure we will go back due to the friendliness of the staff, and convenience of it being right down the street. This place is the best Mexican food I've ever had including being compared to restaurants in Mexico. It is authentic but has a new age technique and packed with flavor! Our group had a variety of dishes and every single one was amazingly tasteful with its own unique flavor. This restaurant is a must try!! I will be going back to try more of the menu and with reasonable prices, I might just make it my go to for high quality food at an affordable price. read more

This is a diamond in the rough! Best refried beans I've ever tasted and the Mexican shrimp with diablo sauce was beyond amazing. Guacamole is VERY good too. Serving sizes are huge so bring a hearty appetite. They have some room for improvement in the atmosphere but hopefully that will come in time. Very nice staff but never a clear idea who our waiter was. Would ask for water refilled waited 10minutes and some other person would bring it out. Then could see the staff on their phones and talking while we waited for our drink order. Food order was made incorrectly not once but twice, fruit flies and flies flying into our food and drinks. No attentive and food tasted cheap and sub par. I wouldn't recommend until they maybe get more training or new cooks. By the way there were only 2 other tables in the restaurant still waiting on food and they said sorry for the mistakes we were in the middle of a rush (there were never more than three tables filled with customers). Food was good. Seems like they are still working out the kinks in owning a new restaurant for the service. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5, was the lighting. It's quite dark and really hard to see the menus. They have a unique salsa made with mushrooms. read more
