The bbq is worth the drive. I had the brisket sandwich with beans and fries. The meat was moist and flavorful. I pad extra for pickles. While I didn't think it's right to charge extra for pickles and onions, the pickles were pretty good. I also paid extra to substitute fries for one of the sides. They looked a lot better than they were, not very crispy I'm afraid. The wife went for the combination beef and pork ribs, she thought those were very good. Service was both friendly and efficient. Worth a visit.

Award winning BQ sampler, side of chili & tangy potato salad

been here before although quite awhile ago, and still great BQ. I typically go for the baby back ribs at any good BQ place but did not see it on the menu this time, didn't ask because I thought I'd go for the sampler this time, kind of hankering for some good BQ chicken. Last time I came with my wife & some of our kids along with her dad, & they even had venison as one of their specials which he loved. The plate was overflowing with lots of BQ and everything was spot on including 2 sides choosing their signature chili & tangy potato salad. The chicken, rib, brisket, & pulled pork was all as tasty as BQ can be, besides tender. I did in the chicken & 2 sides plus 1/2 of the rib & nibbled on a little of the brisket & pulled pork, so ended up with another full meal of left overs to take home. Didn't have a reservation & ate in the bar so I didn't have to wait 15 minutes, and it was quiet in there anyway. The place has a very nice ambiance and the staff very attentive as busy as they were. If you are coming as a group, best to call ahead for reservations, this place is well worth it.

Little on the pricey side the food is excellent. The service is excellent and the ambience thank you is above and beyond. I absolutely love the door the decor there I would highly suggest you come to this place. There is ample parking and I'd give them five stars any day.

    Raw smoked chicken quarter

We always drove by this place and finally had time to stop and try their food. Needless to say we should have kept on driving! Sad, they have these awards decorated the walls of their restaurant but the food was horrible! So, you are left wondering what food won those awards?! We ordered brisket meal which looked thinly cut day old microwaved meat that when the light hit it you can see rainbow iridescent sheen on it which if fine but it's not appealing to eat. ( where's the bark? Smoke line?) my kids shared the sampler plate with once again brisket, pulled pork, quarter chicken, 3 pork ribs and hot link. All the meats are just off specially the chicken it's tough and dry, rubbery meat and raw in the middle. My husband ordered the pork ribs and that seems the most edible out of all the things we ordered but he still needed to douse it with sauce. The sides are nothing special, Coleslaw was super dry we had to take a few bites to even know if it's vinegar base or cream base at how dry it was.

Beef Ribs... hadn't taken a bite or cut them... this is how thin and dry they came.

GARBAGE! first time I have ever left a review... especially a bad one. Order their special "Beef Ribs" and Pork Rib platter... so dry and almost 0 meat on the beef ribs. supposed to be traditional Texas style BBQ, but pork ribs were so dry... obviously oven heated and had ZERO smoked. Beans were canned bush beans mixed with some bbq sauce. When I showed the server the ribs and how dry they were his response was "Oh, you must have got a bad batch" and proceeded to take the meat and bring me my full check. First time in my life I didn't tip either. Dont waste your time.

We really enjoyed the food here today! It was top notch and aplenty where we had lots of leftovers for other meals. Way to be!

Next best was the bread - it was perfectly soft inside with a crispy crust. Between how oily the dish was and my nose running from the increased spice as I continued eating, I wouldn't return for this dish. The eggs weren't noticeable in appearance or taste- I had to search for them. The "creamy grits" were creamy, but the black pepper taste was STRONG. Definitely ordered the side for the "creamy" factor, hoping when the server said harissa in the eggs would have a mild spice, that the grits would calm my mouth. The amount of pepper made this unsuccessful. But if you like black pepper a lot then you'll enjoy them. My son enjoyed the beignet's. The server was also the host and he was kind. It was easy to get his attention when needed. I didn't see anyone with a grin on their face after taking bites of their food. I looked around quite a bit out of curiosity. So for ambiance, kind and prompt service, and the possibilities of the menu I gave it 4 stars. We only tried the few things I mentioned. I did also appreciate the bottle of water ready on every table. Note that there is no kids menu and it's mostly table seating. So maybe try on your own or with other adults, and leave the kids at home?

It grilled perfectly. I am not sure if the kimchi was vegetarian or not, I eat fish so I didn't check. My kids got the hot beef broth and liked it. There are many noodle options, including ramen, which the kids liked. They also enjoyed the brisket. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and checked on us a few times. How it works: Select your tier ($35/$45/$55). The whole table needs to be on the same tier. Pick two broths. Select five meat/seafood/tofu/noodle options to start. Go to the self serve area and get your veggies. Go to the self serve sauce bar and make up your dipping sauce. Cook your food. Value: three people, with soda/tea was $135 and I tipped $15. We got the first tier only. Hot food like egg rolls and pot stickers are extra and we didn't get any. Soft serve ice cream and cookies are included at no extra charge. I appreciate the pricing model but I found it expensive. This is more than we spend on sushi.

Was excited that another Hotspot spot opened up down south and it also had kbbq. I know a lot of…read morethe reviews reference that its $48 a person, which I agree is kinda steep since you have to pay for drinks like a can of soda separately for an extra $3. And if you want something a little fancier, they do have mocktails at $8. I spent $185 including tip and taxes for 3 people. The set up is nice as you can grill and have soup on the next grill. They do have a few booths and then some tables. But if youre a larger party, you might get split up if they're busy. I'd recommend reservations if you have a large party. But getting to the food. For the Hotspot portion, you can pick 2 broths and its set up in a yingyang formatted pot. Then you go to the "buffet line" to get your veggies, meats and etc. They do have some hot foods like chicken wings and some type of fried roll. Hotspot was just okay. I was hoping for more flavor. The kbbq was just okay too. But one thing to keep in mind, this spot does not have the exhaust pipes/hood like they do at kbbq to help with the air, so prepare to smell. Leave your fancy/dry cleaning clothes at home. When my friends and I went, it got pretty hot inside, and there was only a box fan. So being next to a grill and no A/C made it more hot and uncomfortable. Maybe its changed now hopefully. The staff was nice and service was decent. Oh, and they do have an ice cream machine, so that's what made this spot like a 3.5 out of 5.

It did not disappoint! I tried the Norma sandwich which was delicious. The tofu skin patty was unlike any other faux chicken I've had and so good! Portions are large here so I brought some of the mac home and am looking forward to having it for lunch tomorrow. My husband tried the dip sandwich with a side of the mashed potatoes and gravy and ate every last bit. He loved it. It's a very cute cafe on the corner with friendly staff.
