What really stood out though, was the amazing hospitality. Emily at the front desk was so welcoming when we arrived, Naz, the manager, was incredibly kind, attentive, and accommodating, making sure everything was perfect throughout our visit, and our server, Mariah, was an absolute sweetheart who took great care of us all night. We also got to meet Chef Mark, which was really nice, and you can tell how much he cares about the food and making sure guests have a great experience. First off the ambiance is wonderful, I loveeee the cleaning and design of the place, great visual aesthetics. The appetizers were very unique and tasty. The food was typical American Italian food. Nunzi's gives romantic vibes, with classy decor and fabulous food. You walk into a dimly lit restaurant, with a friendly hostess and you're seated promptly. There are small lights on the tables to help view your menu better. For drinks, we decided on their fall forward Sangria and a blueberry lavender margarita. Both were refreshing and tasty, and beautiful to look at. We started out with the fried ravioli and a dish called "Italian Nachos", and it's just that. The raviolis were crisp on the outside, cheesy on the inside. The nachos were fun, with a huge dollop of ricotta on top and sausage hidden inside, full of fun flavors. We next enjoyed a Margherita pizza, the crust is crispy, the sauce well seasoned and the perfect amount of mozzarella. It was accompanied by their harvest salad, with arugula, walnuts and pieces of roasted butternut squash, very fall forward. Our absolute favorite dish was next, their butternut squash ravioli! The sauce was rich and decadent, the ravioli were cooked to perfection, I swear we licked the plate clean! We finished our meal with a special dessert, a peanut butter & jelly french toast. Nunzi's really impressed me, as I was not expecting it to be as good as it turned out to be, but I highly recommend this spot for a date night. The interior is very sexy and charming, low light, neon signs, big wall art, and comfortable booths, I liked the vibe in here all night. The server was a friendly guy, personable, talked a bit, made some rec's, and we ordered a pizza to split and some other things. The pizza really impressed me, it was better than a lot of pizza spots I've been too, and can sing praises about the pie, and you'll bring some slices home cause it's decently big. My girl got the Chicken Parm, which was made the right way. Crispy cutlet, not too much cheese or sauce. What a vibe! The space is gorgeous - it has that late-night Sex and the City energy in the best way. Our waiter was so kind and attentive, always checking in on us. The food was fantastic. We shared a pizza and zucchini chips to start, and everything came out hot and delicious. There were six of us, the restaurant was completely packed, and yet the service was still impressively timely. My only note: given how large the restaurant is, they really should convert the women's bathroom into a two-stall setup. There's definitely enough room, and the line was pretty long. Food was delicious and the drinks were fabulous. Thanksgiving Eve met up with my date at Nunzi's It was giving "Hot Stuff" -- literally. I walk in with my date, and before my coat even unbuttons, Donna Summer herself is serenading me like I'm about to strut down a disco runway. Perfect timing. We were the first ones in the restaurant, which honestly made me feel like they opened the whole establishment just for my convenience. The host said, "Pick any table." Baby, don't threaten me with a good time. I saw that corner booth--cute, cozy, and prime real estate for flirting like I'm auditioning for a romantic comedy--and I claimed it like the last good parking spot at Target. The vibe? Oh, this restaurant is so my ministry. Trendy, modern, dimly lit like they're doing me a personal favor. If you're a social media fanatic like me. The entire décor is basically screaming, "Make a reel, post a story, take a selfie sis." The soundtrack? Disco, 70s and 80s R&B, a sprinkle of house. My favorite genres. The stuff that makes you want to shimmy your shoulders while pretending you're not checking out your date's jawline. The drinks? Oh honey... I got "this could've been great but someone clocked out early." Sadness. It did come with a side of their delicious sauce and spicy vodka sauce. But THEN... that fried burrata came out like Beyoncé at the Superbowl. Melty, gooey, fried perfection. Cheese is my favorite food group and that burrata had me emotionally compromised. We also got Grandma's Meatballs. Delicious and they held their own and in chunky tomato sauce, with a dollop of ricotta? Mama mia, yes. For pasta, the server suggested the spicy rigatoni or the linguine bolognese. We went bolognese, and baby... that plate was giving comfort, warmth, cozy blanket energy. Delicious. They did make a salad to my liking and the dressing was very good. My friend had linguine bolognese that looked good and it was a nice size portion. I've eaten dinner here with several groups of people and everybody walks out, saying the exact same thing. What a great spot the food is always really good and hasty. The portion sizes are large and the staff is always helpful. First impression was wow. Whoever designed this space knew what they were doing. Slightly on the dark side offers a romantic environment for date night. The bar is off to the side behind a partition which allows for loud talking drinkers (my girlfriends) to have their space as well without intruding on diners. The wings were sweet and tangy. As someone who loves Italian food, this place was on my list to check out. The service was quick and our waiter was very nice and informative. We all ordered the spicy rigatoni pasta which has been added to my list of favorite pastas. The noodles were nice and soft and the burrata cheese was creamy. I got breaded chicken on my pasta which was really nice. We got the cheese sticks side which is just a cheese toast with soup. It was the perfect starter for an entree to follow. I came here on a Tuesday night at 7 PM with three friends. We made a reservation but on that day, you definitely didn't need it, we got seated right away in a booth. The restaurant is very modern chic, which I was not expecting! We ordered the calamari as an appetizer. It was very crispy with a mix of the legs and the rings and it came with a butter dipping sauce. My friend ordered the lamb lollipops and they do ask how you want them cooked; she ordered them medium and she loved them. I ordered the chicken Parm alla vodka, but instead of linguini I asked to get rigatoni. The chicken parm came with two big servings of chicken and I had plenty of leftovers. The vodka sauce is not that spicy, which is perfect for me. My only critique is that I wish it just a little bit saucier, but that's personal preference. About 1.5 years ago, based on Yelp reviews, I started interfacing with Michael, one of the owners of Nunzi's of Farmingdale, NY, about a Celebration of Life Party, at his restaurant, when the time comes for my mom's passing. Our mom recently passed during the July 4th timeframe and Michael, his brother, Vincent and their extreme team went into action. Pricing was extremely reasonable for the services, food and drinks provided. We were not sure how many people would come from the cemetery to the restaurant, but we had 15 total. Food starters for the group - Calamari - fried with cherry peppers, grape tomatoes, white wine butter sauce and we added marinara. Lemon Wings - grilled lemon slices and calabrian pepper. Amazing Lemon Flavor and crisp. Italian Eggrolls- sweet/hot Italian sausage, broccoli rabe, and pecorino with mozzarella cheese. One of the best dishes. My spouse couldn't get enough! Grandma's Meatballs - tomato sauce, fresh herbed ricotta, also amazing. Main dishes - Pizzas were fantastic and also amazing, along with the below dishes, were folk's lunches. Had someone that only Does Kosher - No Meat - she had the Eggplant Parm - classic home-style tomato sauce, pecorino and cleaned her plate. Had Full Vegan - No Animal- Plant only and he had the Bow Tie Pasta less cheese and butter - Olive oil instead - cauliflower, garlic, pistachio, toasted breadcrumbs. It definitely hits different and throws you off because it looks like sweet & sour sauce. - Eggroll Italiano: Two egg rolls fried and cut in half, these smelled wonderful. We had such a lovely and delicious dinner at our first time at Nunzi's. We came on a Monday night to celebrate our anniversary. From the moment we walked through the door, we were made to feel very welcome. The hostess was lovely and asked if we were celebrating anything special. The food that was coming out looked very delicious. Hubby got a cocktail (Espresso Martini) and a glass of wine. Both excellent. Our waiter was great too by the way. We ordered the Steak Sandwich app and Italian Salad. The Steak Sandwich was very delicious, especially with the hot peppers they provide on the side. The portion was huge and I could have this as an entree and be perfectly happy. I'd definitely order again. The Italian salad was like having an Italian sub without the bread, in a bowl plus chick peas. Perfectly dressed salad with cured meats, onion, cheese. Very yummy and not your typical salad. For our entrees we ordered the Spicy Rigatoni Vodka Sauce and the Artichoke Spinach Pizza. The Rigatoni was delicious. Not too spicy and just spicy enough. The pizza was our least favorite. I've had this type of pizza other places and it's been tastier there. It needed a little more seasoning or less mozzarella, more Parmesan or something. It was OK. Perhaps if I hadn't had it executed better elsewhere, I would have been happy with it. Ingredients were very fresh but I guess I wanted it to taste more like your classic spinach artichoke dip but on a pizza. :) Overall it was a great dining experience and we were very happy we came. One thing that we noticed toward the end of the meal, they lowered the lighting and that made a HUGE difference with the ambiance. Much more romantic. When we first walked in, it was very bright. It did feel a bit stark but it wasn't until they lowered the lights, did we realize how much nicer it was with the proper lighting. We were too stuffed for dessert but our hostess didn't want our anniversary not to be recognized. So Nunzi's gave us a complimentary dessert with some fireworks. That was very awesome and generous. They certainly didn't need to do that. And the dessert was outrageous. It was a scoop of cannoli cream with rainbow cookies blended in and biscotti. Inventive and delicious!! Thank you Nunzi's. Our anniversary celebration was complete. And to top off the amazing experience, our hostess ran out in the FREEZING cold to give us our doggy bag which we forgot. The Italian egg roll was served with a punchy chimichurri sauce that complemented the inner flavors. The margherita pizza had a good chewy crust, nice sauce and cheese but it was missing the added oomph of basil. The smash burger had very good flavor. Would benefit from some pickles to cut the fatty flavor or something crunchy added for texture such as crispy shallots or bacon. Round two. Nunzi's is a class act. The owner contacted me and apologized for our experience at his restaurant on my birthday and invited us for another chance. Nunzi's on Thursday night is packed, reservations are highly suggested. The place is full, great music is playing and it seems people are enjoying themselves. Second time here, I wanted to order what we'd normally order at other area Italian restaurants. Charred Octopus: Nailed it. The chef had the right amount of charr as well as the sides. The small potatoes balanced out the dish. Scallops: My wife and I both loved this dish, the sea scallops must have been taken from the middle of the Atlantic Ocean because they were huge. Yuge!! The scallops had a nice sear but the corn puree on the bottom made this dish a home run. Linguine Bolognese: My sister in law is a Bolognese fiend. Big chunks of beef mixed with al dente spaghetti.
