My friend wanted to come here for her birthday celebration, since she enjoys doing belly dancing. My friend made a reservation. We came when it opened at 5:30pm on a Saturday, and ended up staying the whole night. I tried Egyptian food for the first time. The menu had like 5 options for around $27-30 each. The food included complimentary hummus, pita bread, and an olive oil with spices dip. They also sell Turkish coffee, chocolate, and other flavor cookies. I tried the Turkish coffee cookie and baklava, $3 each. Both is yummy but I liked the baklava more. I ordered the chicken kabab plate and my friend ordered the fish plate, both comes with rice and salad. Service was really good, with one of the waitress also being one of the belly dancers at the end. There were 3 dancers that night and they danced throughout the evening. Be prepared for a long evening if you want to watch everything. My friend really enjoyed the audience participation and danced with others during certain segments. Very beautiful restaurant and decorations, even the bathrooms are decorated!

We all need a little pick me up as we shelter in place and Al Masri delivers -- literally. Order directly from the restaurant to get the best deal on delectable Middle Eastern and Mediterranean dishes. The hubs and I loved the spinach stuffed spanikopita and basteela, a sweet and savory Moroccan delicacy filled with chicken inside a flaky phyllo crust. It was delivered fresh and hot and safely -- social distancing and mask protocol was on point. Wonderful business run by a phenomenal owner who really cares about the community. Treat yourself and keep an amazing local restaurant alive through this crisis!

Even 1 star is a lot for this place. These people call themselves Al Masri. But we ordered from a place named falafel fix and picked it up from this place "Al Masri" This restaurant is fraud. We ordered 3 items and we didn't receive half of the order. I'm not even talking about the taste. It's not even edible. Everything went to trash. We ordered Chicken gyro and received some chicken kabap, no chicken gyro. We ordered grill plate combination and received one beef and one chicken kebab and rice. No gyro no kafta kebap. We ordered veggie's platter We received some veggies and rice. No falafel no grape leaves. Shame on this business. With this quality they can't go far. (I hope pictures are explaining everything.)

Everything we needed and more! San Francisco is in lockdown and "Shelter in Place". And we are unable to visit the restaurants we love. Fortunately, Al Masri is open for business and also delivery! We arranged for our family dinner four hours early and at 7pm our dinner was delivered and it was delicious. We ordered 5 or 6 dishes. Everything from an Eggplant and spiced beef dish to Lamb Shank to baked Cilantro Chicken..... and salad too. Finishing off with my favorite Baklava in San Francisco. Actually, the best Baklava I've ever eaten. Support our local small businesses.

This place deserves more than 3 stars. It has a nice atmosphere with an Egyptian themed decor. It makes you forget that you are in the outer richmond district. There are very few Egyptian restaurants in San Francisco. If you want to try Egyptian food, this is a good place to go to. Customer service is very good and friendly. Based on my previous visits, the Sunday All You Can Eat Buffet is a good deal. They do have belly dance performances after 7:30 pm. The food was pretty good. I especially like the Musa ah Bil Lahma (beef and eggplant casserole). The other items such as the rice pilaf, salad, baked chicken Taggen Firakh, baked fish Taggen Samak also were good. They have a regular menu on the other days of the week. They do have belly dancing performances on those days. However, the portions of the food they serve are pretty large. It is best to come in a large group. If you are a small group, you are better off doing the buffet on Sunday. I tried the Kushari (Egyptian national dish which consists of noodles, rice, lentils, fried onions). It was good, and the serving was huge. The Basterma appetizer was also good.

I came here to see a belly dancing show performed by students and their teachers. The food was served buffet style and was announced at each step. I believe this place is only open for dinner. The atmosphere is detailed. I'm not sure how authentic it is being as I have never been to Egypt. The owner announced that it is the only egyptian restaurant in Northern California which seems unlikely but who knows! She isn't totally egyptian herself and claims to have some egyptian heritage "back there somewhere" She definitely did a good job decorating with ancient Egyptian theme. It is very colorful and clean. The bathrooms are a work of art! Huge individual rest rooms with a lot of space and decorations that fit the theme. There is a really adorable stage area for the belly dancers with a curtain. Totally cute. I really enjoyed the show. I wouldn't exactly come here for the food. The rice (a-roni) was rather mushy and the chicken was over boiled. Good experience, over priced, only worth it if you are going with a large group. Seating is quite cozy so get ready to make some new friends!

Deliciously subtle flavors and my first Egyptian dinner - absolutely real food! And convient to Ocean Beach and Lands End.

I was immediately greeted by chef Elmy and his staff. I ordered a gyro to go as I knew my wife would want to try as well. I was expecting a gyro neatly wrapped like a burrito in foil that I could place in my bag. Instead I was presented with two heaping plates of food covered in foil. Luckily the bike I was riding had a basket. Chef Elmy told me which plate to keep on top and instructed me to be careful with the food on my ride home. "Yes sir". I got home and present the plates to my wife. She removed the foil unveiling two colorful delicious looking plates of food. We were both glowing. One was the gyro I had ordered and the other was a mix of some of the most delicious beans I have ever had along with a salad, a roasted pepper and pickled vegetables. The portions were huge, but more importantly delicious. Food like this could only be made by someone who loves feeding people which I believe Chef Elmy does. From the very beginning, we were welcomed with bowls of soup as soon as we approached the truck. We were asked if we had any restrictions or preferences, and Chef Elmy cooked us a personalized meal. Note that everything is made-to-order so be prepared to wait a little - but for his cooking, anything is worth it. We were handed two gorgeous generously filled plates that could feed a family of 6! He also gave us bottles of water to keep us hydrated. The plate consisted of two wraps, chicken and kofta, with a couple of sides. We were not sure what the sides were (besides the delicious corn that was crusted and seasoned beautifully) but everything had us smacking our lips, especially the fried one. The food was intentional and made with so much love and care, something that is so rare to find nowadays. A real hidden gem and they deserve all the support! We cannot wait to return to try all the other food and specials Chef Elmy has to offer. Thank you for an outstanding and delicious lunch (and dinner)!

Because I'm pescatarian, The Wife graciously agreed to a veggie bastilla, instead of chicken. We expected the same thing, just without chicken; so egg and nuts. Nope - neither were present. But there was a lot of carrots. There was also a carrot salad, and carrots on the side of my main dish. The salad course was superb. The aforementioned carrot salad, plus a cucumber salad, and an amazing eggplant salad that I kept scooping up in my pita. I had the Moroccan seafood platter, with shrimp and scallops, both very well cooked. The Wife had the chicken kabob, and was very happy. At the end, we had baklava with stylishly poured mint tea. The show is almost as important as the meal. Speaking of which, we were there for the belly dancer Jennifer, and she was excellent. She started with a lit skirt, then came back twice, once with a curved sword on her head and another just alone. Beautiful and friendly, dancing briefly with a gentleman from one party, and for a while with a younger girl from another large family. So sweet.

The Stuffed falafel was so good and huge 1 is enough for 2 people. The mosabaha was very refreshing and so good. The meat combo was good overall and everything was very herbally spiced, I wasn't impressed by the lamb tho but the kebab, hummus, and chicken were great! I haven't had Mousakhan before so not sure how it should taste but to me it was sweet and savory with really well cooked chicken. I honestly felt pretty healthy overall cause I was eating hella veggies and everything tasted so fresh. My guy ordered this and thought it was average. 3/5 LAMB SHISH KEBAB WRAP ~ this was my dish. I ate one half of the wrap and it only held two cubes of lamb meat. The lettuce and tomatoes made the wrap bland. The meat was seasoned, but everything was plain, so it needed more seasoning. Honestly, this was missing flavor! I'll have to add something to it when I eat the rest of this wrap at home. 2.5/5 HALF ROASTED CHICKEN AND RICE ~ Our friend ordered this dish. It needed more sumac. This tasted like plain roasted chicken. Maybe it needs more seasoning while marinating. It wasn't dry, so that's a relief.
