My husband and I walked about 7 miles in Golden Gate Park and we were ready for a nice meal. An important note in this restaurant: in a city where restaurant turn over is all too common, this place has been here for over a decade. I use to come here when I went to college up here. Run, don't walk. The level of service from who I have to assume is the owner was unparalleled and also non existent nowadays. It is worth a visit to continue to support someone who operates with that level of service. So the ambiance is 10x fold incredible because of this sweet man! He helped us start and end our meal plan right with Turkish tea and Turkish coffee and some sweet treats. I am a sucker for gyro anywhere and they have the lamb-beef which the plates come with rice, and salad and tzatziki and piping hot pita for $19.99.

People here are so nice. The owner sits there and becomes one of us. We asked for more bread, and they just brought more to us. We went to the park and decided to walk around for someone light bites. The food is delicious, fresh, and comes with a relatively big portion. The place is very cute, family style, and efficient. The guy I was here with left me, but I am taking this spot.

Absolutely wonderful experience! Stopped in today to take a peek and Ali insisted we try the spanakopita -- and wow, what a treat! He brought us the most delicious coffees and even Turkish delight to enjoy. His hospitality was unmatched and the food was every bit as good as he promised. From fresh, authentic Mediterranean flavors to warm, welcoming service, this spot is a true gem. Can't wait to get back for the shish kabob! Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic Greek/Turkish/Mediterranean food with a personal touch.

I can hardly believe I'm able to leave a review for a restaurant featuring a Mediterranean cuisine. It is not that I don't like Greek and Turkish food; the problem is my food allergies, which so often keep me from being able to eat it. Park Gyros, on 9th Ave., near Lincoln Way and19th Ave, was a great experience. I visited last Saturday evening, around 7 pm, with a group of 6 women. We'd just been to the fabulous Lightscape at the Botanic Gardens and we were cold and hungry. Trying to decide amongst the options that were there (there are many) we saw that the restaurant was busy, and we took that as a good sign. Entering the bright cheery interior, we found a four-top table right away; while we were trying to figure out if it was okay to move two chairs from another table, the owner came out from behind the counter and moved a two top and chairs for us, making a perfectly sized table for us. As we got into line to order, the people leaving (adults AND children) raved to us about how good the food is, particularly recommending the falafel meal. A man with three children came in and when the kids saw a big box of Godiva chocolates behind the counter, the owner noticed. Checking first with the parent, he offered the children a chocolate and then turned to ask my friends and I if we would like one, as well. Ummm...who turns down a Godiva chocolate on a cold evening?? Reader...we did not. Anyway, our food was delicious and the servings are generous. We ordered Moussaka, Falafel Plates, Lavosh Roll (one salmon and one turkey), Spanokopita, and Lentil Soup. Everyone was fresh and perfectly seasoned. The owner served us complimentary Turkish tea that had a nice light cardamom flavor. At the end of the meal, we were each treated to a piece of Baklava. TBH, I don't typically like baklava--it can be too sweet for me and the nuts too finely ground. This baklava had bright green pistachios, perfectly chopped, the phyllo was flaky, and there was very little syrupy-sweetness. It was a perfect bite of something sweet to end the meal. This is a crazy long review, I know, but Park Gyros is really good. Don't be deceived by the simple and unassuming exterior...if you like Greek and Turkish food, you have to stop by.

It's like you've known someone for a long time and all of the sudden you notice that they are a baddie! How many times have I driven or walked by this restaurant?! Too many! And this was the 1st time I've eaten here! I ordered a kofte wrap, red lentil soup, and baklava. I asked how the lentil soup was and he gave me a 1/4 bowl to try! It was so good! Not too rich not too thick just right. Savory & warm like a hug. And when the owner packed my baklava he snuck in some Turkish treat I have never had before! He put that in there to make come back again. He had a knowing smile when I asked for the dessert. They tasted just-made light and crispy baklava. Sweet thinly sliced Turkish treat with nuts and nougat, makes me want it now again! I had to share with my sister. She was also loved it. The wrap satisfied my beefy/ lamby meat craving, salty but balanced with the flatbread and lettuce and sauce. I ordered for takeout took maybe 10 mins to prepare. The restaurant is on the corner of 9th Ave and Lincoln Way. It's very open so you can look out and people watch. It's clean and warm. I would like to go back to try their Turkish coffee. I once had Turkish coffee in LA I was super amped as it was strong I walked that day from Beverly Hills to Korea town. Don't sleep on this sweet corner spot. Fill yourself with goodness. Get it here! Get it often. Healthier than some other places. My dr said the best diet is the Mediterranean diet. Start here.

Had the Lamb Beef Gyro to go. The gyro had many slices of meat but was dry and tasteless. Expensive for what you get and the only plus is the location near GGP. Workers are not the friendliest and I wouldn't go back for the food or service.

What a great spot. I was greeted by the owner and I asked him what was his favorite dish. He told me the chicken kebab plate was his favorite, so I took his advice. He personally served me and made sure that I was well accommodated. As I was halfway done with my meal, he brought out some baklava on the house. The food was delicious and the baklava was one of the best that I've had. Great clean environment with a gracious host. Would eat here regularly.

We had chicken and beef kebabs on skewers, beef kofte, gyros, a huge fresh salad, rice, and two kinds of sauce.

I ordered catering from this restaurant and everything was absolutely delicious. Ali delivered everything right to my house, and the packaging was perfect -- he brought utensils, paper plates, napkins, everything we needed. I wish I had taken a better picture, but the moment we opened the trays, the guests started eating with such pleasure! We had chicken and beef kebabs on skewers, beef kofte, gyros, a huge fresh salad, rice, and two kinds of sauce. The food was so flavorful, and we got so many compliments -- especially on the skewers! I'll definitely be ordering from them again.

I opened Yelp just out of curiosity to look up this restaurant, since I've stayed here more than once. I was surprised to see a 3.7 rating, because in my opinion this is the best shawarma I've ever had -- it's actually called "Lamb Beef." Out of all I've tried, this one is the most delicious, and the staff is really nice. And let Yelp just try to delete my review -- I'll still keep coming here, because the food is really delicious, the prices are reasonable, and it's on my way home. Guys, you're doing a great job. Your food is really delicious. Thank you for such warm hospitality.

    Kelly H.

We got the salmon wrap which was amazing! Loved the dressing inside with the lettuce, and the salmon was cooked perfectly. The flavors were great and it was a wonderful and easy meal to bring to the park and sit on the benches with. Fast service and good prices!

A view from our table at the kitchen

Great customer service, the food wasn't too salty (which a lot of mediterranean food is) and there was lots of it. He even came to the table once we were done eating and brought some Baklava and then offer/made us a couple cups of coffee. Tables and floor were also very clean, very comfortable. Fantastic! Thanks!

With the herbs and the lemon, it was such a lovely bright and savory contrast of textures. The shalgam though was decidedly not our jam - salty earthy pickle brine-y, served room temp. No thank you. The kunefe was also a bit of a letdown - quite small, not very cheesy or crispy. Should have stopped at the apps and mains. When we asked for extra pita bread on the side, the waiter provided us their wood fired flower bread on the house, which proved to be a highlight of the meal. The soft interior of the bread contrasted excellently with the crunchier exterior. I won't forget that bread anytime soon. The dips themselves were excellent, though the muhammara was a stand out. The crispy shrimp appetizer was great, providing an uncomplicated but fun bite which allowed the soft shrimp to work well with the crunchy exterior and sweet sauce. The shish kebab was praised by the birthday girl for its seasoning and consistency. For the main entree, we got the bronzino, which came with sardine rice, mustard, and some delightful greens, which were another standout on the meal. While the price is high for the Bronzino entree given how much fish was served, we did feel that the quality of execution balanced out the price point. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and, believe that it's worth going out for if they are in a different neighborhood and want a delightful Turkish meal.
