Butter Chicken and a bowl of Basmati Rice
    Harry W.

Massive Yummy Naans, Perfect Tandoori, Kind friendly staff and simple mid-century retro-style yet modern decor. Friendly pricing too! Oh and a long stemmed rose on each table. Nice! TANDOORI CHICKEN- Served on a HOT Iron Platter. NOT burnt to a crisp, but very moist and tender, and plenty of flavor with just a slight char here and there. It's tough to get this dish right, but they nailed it here. One of the best Tandoori Chicken Dishes I've ever had. (Easy 5/5!) BASMATI RICE - $3.50 for a deceptively small-looking bowl that is almost endless for two people! Moist long grain and flavorful. GARLIC NAAN & PLAIN NAAN - both were absolutely HUGE, tender and soft on the inside and just crispy charred just enough here and there as they should be. 4.8/5 - I think there could be a tad more garlic on the naan, but I'm probably just being picky. BUTTER CHICKEN - thick and creamy sauce, tender chicken. On point 4.3/5. VEGI PAKORA - beautifully fried in fresh oil.. Kinda wish the pieces were a little bigger, and maybe wish they had a small side of Raita to accompany this. Maybe I should have ordered one of the other pakoras or a samosa instead. (3.5/5) Mango Lassi - on point yummy. (4.8/5) I'd definitely come back again for the Tandoori and Naans and maybe check out the curry dishes next time! Getting Here: Easy Transit access via the N Judah Light Rail, along with a public parking lot just outside. Street parking can be challenging being so close to GG Park and 9th/Irving district. This is a good place for a date or just a casual night out.

I had a great lunch here, if you're looking for an Indian restaurant in SF, definitely give them a try. Curry dishes are always a must, the Butter Chicken Masala was tasty as expected, it was a flavorful and delicious bite. We also got the Lamb Vindaloo, which I enjoyed trying. It is a sweet and sour sauce base with hot chilis and spices. Naan is a must to dip into the curries and the Kabuli Naan was an interesting one on the menu that we wanted to try: it is stuffed with seasoned coconut, raisins, cashew, and cherry. The Chicken Biryani made for a delicious rice dish and the Chili Chicken Momo had great spicy flavors. Complimentary chips, cauliflower, and Kheer (rice pudding) called Kheer was included.

Stopped by for a casual dinner for two with a friend, but we left feeling like we ate for 4! I was very pleased when we sat down and opened the menu to find a very affordable price range. Naan was about $4-$6 depending on which flavor you get, the curries were mostly less than $20/each, and rice was less than $3. I was very intrigued by their unique naan flavors so we got the mint naan and the chili naan. I wish that there was a stronger mint flavor in the naan because I was excited to combine it with the curries, but it was very subtle. Still tasty! The staff was very accommodating and really pushed to get everyone to try more items on their menu. For us and the table next to us, they brought us complimentary pakora with all three of their chutneys. The restaurant itself had very bright table settings with warm lighting and walls + decor. I will definitely be back to try more!

It's been a LONG time since I've left a review. This plus is 5 STARS!!! If you guys want authentic delicious Indian cuisine come here!!! The place is spotless by the way. a huge plus!!!

The food was excellent, and the new location looks great. It can get a little noisy during busy times, but overall it's a great place to eat. One strong suggestion: please replace the TV with a speaker for music, or at least upgrade to an ad-free music service. During our meal, the TV was playing music videos but kept interrupting them with loud ads - including prescription drug commercials - which really pulled everyone out of the dining experience. If you're using YouTube or another ad-supported service for music, the premium ad-free version would be well worth it. It's a small investment that would make the restaurant feel much more polished.

I made arrangements ahead of time for a group to dine at Rose Indian Cuisine for a total of $30 each person, including tax and gratuities, and they delivered spectacularly. We had a variety of dishes to give us a sampling of their offerings. We started with vegetable samosas and baingan pakora (fried eggplant). They brought two bowls of raita and a nice chutney along with some dipping sauces, of which only one was spicy. We had two kinds of naan, plain and garlic, some rice, papadam (one of my favorite items), chicken vindaloo, tandoori chicken, lamb tikka masala, chana masala (chickpeas cooked with tomatoes and onion), and aloo palak (spinach and potatoes). The two bowls of Kheer (rice pudding) were served with 4 spoons to each bowl, but after one spoonful, only one person could finish the bowl without double dipping; I would suggest a different dessert or small individual servings next time. Service was wonderful and they were very understanding when two diners didn't show up; I was not charged for the two missing diners. I would definitely return for the great service and food. I hope they're successful and can maintain a steady stream of customers!

Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Biryani, Garlic Naan, Fish Curry. Really delicious!

Super yummy! Hidden gem in the outer sunset. Will definitely come back. We got the tandoori chicken, fish curry, garlic naan and chicken biriyani. Our favorite was the tandoori chicken, sooo tender and flavorful

Mouth watering MOMO (Dumping) which is so tasty and flavorful, once I first bite, juice comes out of the Momo and makes you more hungry. You should not miss this Delicious Nepalese style Momo. The restaurant ambience is amazing, it looks so brand new and serving is so quick and attentive.

I always see this place with quite the foot traffic inside so I decided to try it for myself! Came in on a weekday a little after the lunch hour and only 2 other parties were seated. Multiple pickup/delivery service orders so I had high hopes. I was not disappointed. Had the garlic naan - 5/5 perfection! So fluffy and MASSIVE. Delicious indeed. Butter Chicken - 4.5/5. Pretty large serving with a lot of curry. I ordered spicy and it had a little kick but nothing major. Very creamy, good flavor. Basmati rice -3/5. Disappointed as it was really dry. Definitely older rice. I was given a chai at the end of my meal and it was warm and delightful. Service was superb! Gentlemen were very attentive and sweet. Inside is spacious and clean, music videos playing from the TV. All in all 4.7 stars from me! I'll be back to try more from their menu!

Rose Indian Cuisine is hands down the best Indian restaurant in the city! I'm a regular here, and it never disappoints. Every visit is consistently excellent. This time we ordered the coconut chicken curry, butter chicken, garlic naan, tandoori chicken, and samosas--and every dish was absolutely delicious. The flavors are rich, authentic, and perfectly prepared. The butter chicken is one of my favorites, and the garlic naan is always fresh and flavorful. The restaurant is very clean, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the service is outstanding. The staff is attentive, friendly, and always makes you feel like a valued guest. If you're looking for amazing Indian food, Rose Indian Cuisine is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

We ordered the 2 person rose thali special which is a massive amount of food which was pleasantly surprising . However the flavor really lacked, I was expected rich and deep flavors typical of Indian restaurants. But just got a burnt taste for the palak pakora, and the saag paneer and the spice used to make our chicken tikka medium looked to be red pepper flakes. The ctm tasted heavily of cream and tomato without much else. The flavors did mature over time, but should be more in depth on first bite. Where's the cumin, coriander, garam masala, etc? The naan is pictured is huge! And the lassis were yummy although would have preferred the spices blended or strained for the salt one. The service was great and the team was kind.

Amazing food and service!!! We randomly walked in and it was wow! Thank you! We will definitely come back :)

Amazing and delicious Indian food at reasonable prices. Clean atmosphere, friendly and efficient service and convenient parking. Will definitely be back again. You cannot beat the size of the yummy garlic naan.

    Samosa! :P

Regardless, Base Camp was awesome and a solid restaurant in the Mission. My friend and I arrived impromptu on a Monday night, surprised to see a crowded house; luckily, we snagged a table in the corner. We ordered the tandoori octopus, pork belly bhutwa, and goat curry which were all good. The tandoori octopus was fork tender and delicately spiced. The pork belly had vaguely Indian and vaguely Chinese flavor profiles, without lending itself to either side of the fulcrum. Kinda masala mixed with a bit of mala, which makes sense given Nepal's location. The goat curry was the only dish, albeit good, that didn't quite stand out for me. Service is also incredible. Every time a dish arrived, servers graciously explained how best to indulge, a welcomed gesture for this Nepalese novice. Would come again!

Genuinely. Absolutely perfect. Delicious, well seasoned and with lots of pork. I had to restrain myself from wolfing it all down in one sitting! That said, I also tried one of the curry dishes my first time, and was thoroughly unimpressed. It was bland and I wish it had more spice and texture. I will definitely enjoy the noodle dishes again in the future though! Thanks also appreciate the cute interior, and the vibe is nice if I want to take friends out for a casual evening meal.

I went to the restroom unfortunately you have to pass through the kitchen to go there and I was stunned how dirty the kitchen was. On top of it, I noticed they had boxes of frozen samosas from grocery stores as well as frozen momos. So basically this restaurant is reheating frozen food and selling it as fresh Nepali food and hoping no one will notice. The dirty kitchen and reheating frozen food from Indian grocery are not my idea of Nepali food. Hopefully the restaurant will change its way from my feedback. I love Nepali food and Nepali people and hate to give low reviews to small businesses.

From the start we were impressed with the incredibly friendly service. To start, we got the fish pakora. Although deep fried, the pakora were crispy without being greasy or heavy, and had a nice fresh flavor when dipped in the accompanying mint sauce. For our entrees, we got the daal makhani and the mixed vegetable curry. Both entrees were very tasty, but our favorite was the daal makhani, which had a nice smoky flavor. We also got a side of garlic naan and Peshwari naan. Although I hadn't had Peshwari naan before and was skeptical about whether it would go with the meal with its sweet flavors, the filling of coconut, almonds, and sultanas was so delicious that it was my favorite part of the meal. Also, although it was sweet, it didn't have too much sweetness to create an imbalance against the rest of the things we ordered. Highly recommend this place for great food and impeccable service!
