Saw this place on Eater SF so I decided to find this food truck. The staff are nice but the food isn't up to par. The Al Pastor was cold as in not fresh. I could see them reheating the meat. I have no problem with reheating meat but when you open for business your food needs to be at it's very best not luke warm. For a burrito that is priced at what is, you're better off heading to Chipotle. This place gets 1 star for trying and another for the friendly staff. read more

The 3 stars are for the food. Minus 2 for the service. I feel like the guy at the cash register used to be a lot more friendly, but now comes off as cocky and rude. They put 15-25+% as the tip choices... for a food truck where each taco is $6-8... The wait is already really long to get ur food, and no lie, if u don't tip 'enough' you will be waiting even longer. I was so excited to try this spot after seeing it featured on a show I watched. I ended up being really disappointed, though. I got the al pastor burrito and tacos. The meat itself is very average, not crispy and not much flavor. The burrito was not good, the rice and beans had virtually no seasoning. I'm so happy this taco truck is right by where I live, because their tacos are amazing. It's located inside this little mini golf place and the owner + staff are really friendly! I saw that they were going to be in Colma today and even though I've gone out twice since this whole shelter-in-place order took off, I knew I had to go and buy some food because I don't know when I'll be able to again! I was there for an hour and when I left, the line didn't get any shorter. Miguel was super nice to me even though he's been the one taking everyone's orders. (I really appreciated how nice he was!) It was a long wait to order and to get my food but it is a food truck and there's only two other people working with him. This time they had their full menu and I got the Alpastorta (limited special) and the Al pastor burrito bowl. To clarify from my previous review, I definitely had the chicken burrito bowl last time. This time I asked for avocado on the side because I plan on eating it tomorrow and I wouldn't want to microwave the avocado, found that there wasn't avocado on the side or in the bowl.. The Alpastorta had two thick!! pieces of bread sandwiched between lots of meat and beans but most importantly there was pineapple in it! That was the best part! I will say that I do like the chicken more than the pork, but personal preference ‍ but still good and still worth going back for more obviously! Hope they'll be back in SF area soon! read more

Food was great until I found a hair longer than I care to recall. I messaged them immediately with pictures and all. No response nothing but I'll get back to you. Now months later I can never go back no matter how delicious. Especially durning COVID if y'all so careless to not even respond. Are you wearing gloves and masks? The Al Pastor tacos are average. They may have cooked it earlier in the day or even the day prior and reheated to order. Many of the pieces were very crispy with no meat inside - dried out. I had decided to get a burrito last minute and it was coincidence that al pastor is one of my favorite meats in a burrito. It just made sense to try this truck at SPARK. It was amazing... I can not even begin with how well everything inside their burrito works. Super simple and not too big (still a filling amount) but is so perfect. I am born and raised in SF, where tacos are easy to find. Al Pastor Papi, however, is not your average taco. The al Pastor was the best I've ever had. Visited Al Pastor Papi's truck/pop up by the Speakeasy location on Evans. We waited in line about 30 minutes and another 10 minutes for two tacos - one Vampiro and one Crispy Queso, both al pastor. The meat was quite dry and way too salty on some of the pieces. The "Crispy Queso" wasn't really crispy at all. The staff accidentally gave me a torta as well, which also had the dry-meat problem. It's possible we caught this place on an off day or something, but the whole experience was a letdown. It's nice to see what they're doing for the community and how they've helped create a nice little outdoor party space, but I'm guessing that at some point, the hype and the atmosphere began to overtake the most important aspect of any food truck - the food. Operationally, there seems to be a lot of room for improvement as the music impairs the staffs ability to actually hear orders and they are slooowwwwww to churn out 6 dollar tacos. I'll give it another shot sometime, but the product doesn't justify the wait or prices in a city that isn't lacking for taco spots. read more

Man we waited in hella traffic to get to this place and it was worth it!! And we'll do it again! Highly recommended and the guy was so cool and down to earth.
