This is a great casual spot for Mexican food. You order at the counter and then wait for your number to be called to pick up your food. I had a quesabirria taco and al pastor taco and both were really tasty, as well as the consommé. My only complaint is that the tables weren't the cleanest. There were quite a few customers enjoy their Friday lunch at Cielito Lindo. The restaurant was colorfully decorated along the walls and with their tables. I ordered their Papas con Chorizo Breakfast burrito, which was a generous portion size and included everything that I wanted. It was filled with salsa, onions, and a good amount fo sausage and potatoes. It was a big burrito of crispy and cheesy goodness. It was a bit too greasy, however, which leaked onto the aluminum foil wrapper and the plate. My friend went with their quesabirrias, which were also just as impressive. All sites and their storefront say they open at 8:30, so I started waiting outside at that time. There were definitely workers there, but I waited a half hour and they still didn't open the doors. I'm sure they saw the people waiting but didn't move to acknowledge us, and they didn't pick up their phones either. Somebody at the cafe next door said they sometimes open up even later, at around 10:30a, and that it seems random. Disappointed as they supposedly have a decent breakfast burrito. the older man working here made me feel extremely comfortable today. as i approached the counter he offered me a high five and i high fived him back as it seemed like an innocent and friendly gesture: he has served me food here before and has been polite. he went on to high five me three more times throughout me waiting for my order as he offered me a free drink which seemed extremely excessive and moved from the realm of polite/friendly to inappropriate and creepy. i declined the drink. he called me beautiful twice and asked my name. i grew extremely uncomfortable with the interaction and the next time he tried to fist bump me as he brought me food i declined and told him "i'm good" and in response he touched my shoulder. do not touch people without asking and just be professional. it made me unlikely to come here to eat alone which is extremely annoying because this was previously a go to spot for me. will be looking for different options in the area unfortunately, while hoping they see this and stop crossing boundaries with patrons of the restaurant. pains me to say it because i love their steak tacos! on a purely food level skip the super burrito and opt for the tacos instead they're much more flavorful and less expensive too read more

A great taqueria to grab a breakfast burrito at. I chose the ham and egg breakfast burrito. Pretty filling and the ham and eggs were layered good inside. I like the green sauce to go with this burrito as it's not spicy and allowed me enjoy the taste. The Horchata was a nice drink to go with it too and was cinnamon like with a hint of sweetness. This place is a confusing toss up, and generally, a waste of time. The food is okay when (and if!), they get your order right, which is rare. God knows I've tried with them. A basic vegetarian burrito with guacamole comes back as carne asada without guacamole. Don't even try to ask for hot sauce in the burrito; you won't get it, no matter how many times you ask. And the pricing? Expect your order to be priced arbitrarily based on who-knows-what? The cash register? The ingredients that you may, but probably won't get?...wtfe. Be prepared to pay $3.00 for a Mexican coke one day, and $5.35 the next. It's random af, no matter that they have prices posted. They won't follow them. Go somewhere else. You'll be glad you did. However, I thought the consommé lacked flavor and tasted bland. To balance the greasy meal, the horchata was refreshing with a good amount of cinnamon. He knew her as a regular and took advantage of that to make attempt to make a move on her by touching her shoulder and commenting on her looks (as well as several gestures prior). Though I didn't have any, she enjoyed her first time trying birria. The tacos were crispy, the meat was chunky, and they were massive in size! My companion and I chose to share the Super Burrito with Al Pastor, with No Cheese, and Light Sour Cream. The burrito was huge and I'm glad we shared it as half filled me up. It didn't wow me too much--the meat was way too salty and everything else wasn't seasoned. I'd say go for the birria but there's better options for other items elsewhere. With limited Mexican restaurants in the Richmond, Cielito Lindo stands out in the neighborhood. By itself, everything was rather dry and bland, but drown it in the soup and it became super tasty. I actually really enjoyed this. If it had more melty cheese, it would have been perfect. The hubby got the enchiladas. They were a little weird as the dish didn't come with any sauce on top. They gave us a fair amount of salsas on the side, so he ended up using some of those and a few sauces we had at home. Otherwise, they were waaay too dry. The burrito he got with al pastor. When he bit into, he was like, why is this so sweet?! Turns out there were pieces of pineapple in it. I know they marinate al pastor with pineapple, but I've never had the fruit served with the meat. Very odd. He needed to douse the burrito in salsa and hot sauce to get rid of the sweetness. Not the best place for enchiladas or al pastor, but their birria tacos are delish! read more

Service was very fast and I liked that they have the option to grill your burrito if asked. There's also plenty of seating inside but we ordered ours as takeout. This place has very generous portions and lots of meat options including birria. My husband got a carne asada super burrito and I got a birria super burrito. Unfortunately both were very bland. The rice tasted unseasoned and it was a large bulk of the burrito. The meat was also under seasoned. They do give plenty of sour cream and avocado for the super burrito size and the tortilla used was tasty but unfortunately I don't think these things made up for the overall burrito. I'd read about their quesabirria tacos, so that's what I ordered. My friend ordered two tacos, chicken and beef. My quesabirria tacos were delicious, but a bit on the oily side. They had such deep flavor and the consomme that came with it was complex and rich. I might just pour it over some noodles if I don't use all of what I brought home! The quesabirria tacos were huge! I'm generally a good eater, but I could only finish one; I have the other one waiting for me for lunch today and I'm certainly looking forward to it! My friend's two tacos were tiny in comparison, like street tacos. They came with two different salsas, one green and one that looked like it was with roasted chiles. She said they were good but the beef was a bit on the dry side. We each also had the pineapple agua fresca and we both loved it. Not too sweet and tasted so fresh. I usually only drink water with my meals, but the next time I go, I'll be sure to order whatever agua fresca they have that day. So delicious! Hands down one of the best quesabirria tacos I've ever had. Period. I was visiting SF with some friends and we wanted to find a Mexican stop for lunch close to Golden Gate State Park. This place had great reviews and looked super authentic so we decided to stop in. I decided to split a quesabirria plate and a Mexican coke with a friend (which was a great choice because portion sizes were MASSIVE). The food was ready relatively quickly and we were able to sit in the public outdoor seating area. These tacos SLAPPED. So delicious and cheesy and I loved the consomme and all the toppings and sauces they came with (i.e. pickled onions, hot sauce, etc.). They were super hot and definitely dripping with all the seasoning and sauces but they were so good. I can't recommend this spot enough, definitely check it out if you're in the area!! read more
