Stopped by here with some friends for dinner after we had happy hour. Walked in, and luckily, there was no line. A few people were already in there eating, and we know this place is good, as a few others in our group and I have been here multiple times. The Taqueria is typical of any other, with bench-style chairs for folks to sit on, a water station, and workers cooking it up in the kitchen. I wasn't too hungry, so I grabbed a Super Lengua Taco, while my friends grabbed burritos, we ended up grabbing 3 complimentary chips and guac/salsa with our order and the food came out pretty quickly. When I saw my Taco I forgot how much they stuffed it and wow, two of these would've filled me up just like a taco; there was so much Lengua that it kept falling off after every bite. Came by on a Saturday around 11pm, and Taqueria Cancun was still bustling with people coming and going. As with most places in SF, street parking is your best bet before heading over. I really loved the indoor decor - bright, cheerful, and full of colorful papel picado strung throughout the restaurant. Service was quick, friendly, and a nice touch was the complimentary chips and salsa that came with our order. We tried the Super Nachos with Al Pastor, and wow! You really get your money's worth! The portion is huge, and they don't skimp on ingredients. The chips stayed perfectly crunchy even under all the toppings. The meat was flavorful, though I wished it had a bit more smokiness. The nachos are loaded with cheese and sour cream, so if you prefer a lighter hand with those, you might want to request it. Overall, I'd give the nachos a 4/5. After coming here, I am so sad I have been denied having a Mission burrito for so long. This was burrito was amazing. I love the fast casual vibe and our food came out SO QUICK! We were all excited for some good burritos and once I saw lengua on the menu I made a beeline straight for it and went all in on the lengua burrito. Portion size was solid and the flavors hit the spot. The lengua was super tender and flavorful but the burrito itself turned into a bit of a mess from all the extra juices. I'm all for a juicy burrito but a little more rice or beans would have helped hold it all together and balance things out. Still delicious and worth the experience. Despite being fairly busy, there was only a short wait to order and then an even shorter wait for our food. For context, our party of three ordered burritos separately, and I was the last person ordering. By the time I was putting in my order, my friends had already received their burritos. Talk about fast service! We all ordered burritos with al pastor, and I got the super burrito. I really appreciated that they also gave you free chips and salsa with the burrito. I gave the burrito a healthy dose of the green salsa, which was fantastic. The al pastor was very tender and flavorful and all of the other ingredients in the burrito tasted great as well. I am basing this review on a Carne Asada Super Burrito, which was ok. Growing up in the bay I've been to a lot of taqueria's and eaten and lot of carne asada burritos, this one is pretty mid. The carne asada was chewy and didn't have all that much flavor, personally I like a little char and texture on my carne asada. The rice was also a little bland for me. Additionally I was a bit disappointed they only had two salsa options, neither of which was a more typical salsa a la molcajete. A short walk from Dolores park and on a hot day, I came in and the line was sooo long but I saw this place at the top 10 of a guide featuring the best mission style burritos so I naturally had to try! So the employees were definitely really busy and definitely working very hard and fast. The guy who was behind me in line accidentally took my burrito and then we told the cook and he quickly made me a burrito asap, which was very nice given the huge line. It was flavorful and juicy, while the carne asada was a little on the chewier/dry side. Portions were pretty massive, we were starving and still went home with about half of the quesadilla left. Found this hole in the wall for lunch- ordered at the counter. I chose the carne asada regular burrito, which is rice, beans, meat, and pico de gallo. You get a small basket of chips and two kinds of salsa. I also got a mandarin orange Jarritos. Burrito came out a few minutes later and you go to the counter to get it. Restaurant has seating inside and when we got there on a Friday night it was not too busy. You go in line and place your order. They take debit/credit card for payment. We ordered a few things to try. We got super carne asada burrito,asada mojado burrito,lengua tacos,al pastor tacos and super quesadilla with grilled chicken. They do give you chips and salsa with your meal. Loved everything we would say the buritto was our fave and also the quesadilla. We'll probably skip the mojado style burrito next time. This is our favourite taqueria in SF! All the meats were delicious, especially the lengua and the asada. If getting tacos, definitely opt for the super tacos. Only a dollar more, and it gets packed with onions, cilantro, salsa, avocado, cheese, and much more!
