The burrito mojado is a massive heaping pile of burrito goodness that is not to be taken lightly. Insanely flavorful salsa and red sauce, meat grilled to perfection, and cheesy cheese that just hits home. It is a massive portion though - perhaps a better idea to split with someone than to just down the whole thing on your own. And you will be drinking lots of water after. It seems this place has good days and bad days? Fortunately I got a good day. I and my partner are white as wonder bread and experienced only politeness. I didn't ask for a receipt but the total I paid seemed correct according to the menu prices. I asked for no cilantro (soap gene) on ours and they were happy to accommodate us. My cantaloupe agua fresca was refreshing and the super burrito was top 2 best burritos I've ever had. I'm not from around here so take that as you will. But I've eaten a lot of Mexican food and Tex Mex and Mexican American food in my life and this was amazing! The al pastor didn't have the pineappley redness that I'm used to, it was its own thing, almost tasted like a hint of cinnamon, perfectly cooked. If you want something "wholesome" and well rounded I recommend the super burrito, which yes, is $14~, but it is also two meals. If you want something real cheesy and decadent I can recommend the burrito mojado. On both the tortilla tasted really nice as well and the avocado was perfectly ripe. read more

My friend and I were in the area and picked up some takeout for dinner. Note: there's $10 minimum charge for card, but most menu items are over this amount so not hard to hit We came by Tuesday around 5 pm and it was pretty empty. It's a tiny storefront on Market St, though it's quite noticeable because of the bright yellow name. The inside is quite small as well, though there are a couple tables to eat at. I wouldn't recommend coming here with more than 4 people. We paid $29 for the carnitas plate ($14.75) and a veggie burrito ($12). They provide nachos + salsa even for takeout orders which we appreciated. The carnitas were a bit dry and too salty but otherwise good. Portions were huge, I only managed to finish half the food and ate the other half the next day. My friend enjoyed his veggie burrito, but he was a bit bummed it didn't have any salsa and he had to keep adding it in with every bite. read more

A good spot for some fast casual mexican food! I got a carne asada super burrito, and it was $16 which is a bit on the pricier side for a joint like this. It's almost impossible to believe earlier reviews outing this as a racist restaurant could've been correct, yet, for some reason, I experienced just that today. After living in the city for over a decade and eating take out from this restaurant several times more recently with my partner - who is of Mayan descent - I randomly decided to stop by for a Horchata this afternoon! Only after ordering a large Horchata and attempting to pay, I was informed that the price would be $8.03 "because it was the large size" and noticing the menu board saying $3.25 - one would think that a large would be no more than double that price? This frustrating experience is compounded by the fact that I have, once again ordered from this restaurant many times before over the past 6mo, and that was never the price for a large horchata previous to my ordering in person. I am not sure what else to say other than they decided to name as high of a price as they could reasonably see someone paying - and of course I paid, because I wanted to leave this review and let everyone else know! I can't believe I haven't written a review for this Taqueria Cancun location yet. As sketchy as the location is, it still holds a special place in my heart... First date spot with my now-husband! We came here before watching a musical at the theater across the street. I'd only been to the sister restaurant on 18th and Mission. This one was way smaller and less appealing. The food was still decent, though. It's probably best to order food and take it to-go, but if you must, there are a few small tables to enjoy your meal while it's hot. At both locations, my favorite items are the carne asada super burrito or super quesadilla. Because it's packed with so many ingredients, it can get a little messy, but it's worth it. The carne asada super burrito hit the spot when our usual burrito spot wasn't open. This one included even portions of beans, rice, fresh avocado slices, a creamy sour cream, salsa and meat of choice. The rice had a tomato-ey taste to it which was very interesting. I also liked that large burritos were made on gigantic tortillas so that any possible tears could be avoided; it's one of my pet peeves. We ate in the car and there wasn't a problem on my end as the burrito wasn't runny and it didn't tear on me. Score! I enjoyed the smoky salsa verde which I poured on my burrito. The only downside was how chunky it was. I couldn't pour even layers on my burrito. Overall, the burrito was delicious and very fulfilling. The staff inside were such a vibe. Definitely a great spot to stop by and pick up a burrito to go in San Francisco. I ordered a carne asada super burrito and it was very filling. From not only the size (i.e. the amount of food in the actual burrito itself), but also the flavors, I was very happy with my selection. The burrito surprisingly get messy from the amount of stuff that is in it as soon as you start getting to the bottom, so that was definitely a plus on my end as well. I also did like the fact that the order came with chips and salsa. The salsas were delicious, but the salsa verde, but also the salsa roja. The restaurant is a small spot right in between two additional locales. If you aren't looking for it, you may quickly miss it. However, you definitely want to stop by and try out the great food here. This is a small little restaurant in SF that has maybe 8 tables or so lined up on the right side with the team cooking on the left side, and a little aisle to walk through to order and get your food and what not in the middle. I just got a taco because I had already eaten, but boy was that taco good! The friends I was with each got a burrito and a quesadilla that made my mouth water just by looking at them. I flew in to SF super early and needed some food. I had a few places bookmarked but one had a long line and I was on the brink of Hangry so I popped in to Taqueria Cancun. I had noticed the small hole-in-the wall place on my first round of wandering and saw they had a sign advertising breakfast burritos. I'm in. I ended up bypassing the breakfast burrito for an entire breakfast plate (Hangry, remember). It came with scrambled eggs, chorizo, rice, refried beans, and tortillas. It was a large portion of food for $10! You also get free chips & salsa, always a plus. I ended up skipping most of the tortillas although they were really good. The food was super hot and fresh as they cook everything to order on a big flat top. The food was definitely filling and comforting after a long flight, but it wasn't particularly flavorful. I ended up using all the salsa on the eggs to kick them up a bit. I did hear someone who requested their food to be spicy, so maybe that's key. The green salsa was amazing! I put it on everything. The guys working were all friendly and the food was done quickly. Note that they are a cash only establishment but they have an on-site ATM. read more
