    Lengua Street Tacos
    Megan W.

I usually come here for their street tacos, which are $4 each if you pay cash. This time I got the lengua tacos and wanted cabeza too, but they were out, which was disappointing...not the first time either. I think you'll have better luck ordering cabeza at a later time, past 8pm. The tacos themselves are solid, I'd give it a 4/5. They're pretty generous with the meat and you can load up on toppings and sides, which I like. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's plenty of seating with TVs playing in the background, so it's a chill spot to sit and eat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They open very late till 2am so it's a great late-night spot too if you're ever feeling hungry past midnight.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This place is kind of unassuming, but everything was good -- the carnitas, the beans, the rice, and the horchata. Servings were very large. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is nothing fancy, but it was nice to sit outside on a nice day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was fine. There are so many taquerias in the Mission but this is one to come back to.

In my never ending search for new lunch spots, this is definitely going into our rotation. Found easy street parking and it wasn't crowded inside... we came early. Huge menu board: everything from your typical taqueria fare, to vegetarian burrito options, such as Italian or Asian stir fry. They also have a couple great sounding soups which I haven't seen in SF recently. I settled on the carne asada plate. Came with two big flats of grilled carne. The plate came with hot refried beans, rice, sliced avocado, and salad. The beef had tons of flavor. Coworkers got tacos and an enchilada plate. Everything was good. Got the obligatory chips and salsa too. Some of the chips were overcooked but that's the only negative. We'll be back!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great food, quick and kind service, casual atmosphere with a self-serve water station.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] All the food I've had here is so yummy and I appreciate that they're open til late! My go-to is getting a variety of 3 to 4 tacos (with lengua, carne asada, or al pastor) and lately been trying more from their menu. Recommend.

The tacos alpastor are sooooo good. Very authentic , they even slice a piece of pineapple on each taco for you, and the price is very reasonable especially for San Francisco.

Amazing tacos I tried 3 different tacos - carne asada, al pastor, and lamb. They were all wonderful. They also gave me a little scoop of grilled onions. The service was fast - you need to get tacos in one area and everything else at a separate counter where you pay. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The establishment is ok, it was clean enough on the inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The woman's bathroom was a bit rough, I would recommend going elsewhere for your bathroom needs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This is the place for Taco Tuesday in San Francisco's Mission District! $2.50 each for al pastor and chicken.. $4 each for the rest! This deal was amazing. I grabbed 4 tacos of different flavors and was served quickly! [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is a lot of seating inside and outside, I can tell this place gets busy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Open late, it must be a party on weekends. The menu is more than tacos, they have a huge selection. The tacos had great flavor and I was satisfied. I would recommend this spot to anyone visiting San Francisco , locals love this spot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I also admired the beautiful artwork on the walls inside and outside.. and the architecture brings a cool vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Family friendly and community oriented.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This place always hits. One of my favorite (if not my favorite) Mexican spot of all time. The food is delicious, they have a real spit for the al pastor tacos and it's juicy! They have a wide variety of food and the service is fast, friendly , and consistent. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I've been to Mexico many times and the ambiance is very reminiscent of a Mexican street corner with yummy food, corn, drinks, etc.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] highly recommend

I ordered delivery from here and the food is subpar at best. The torta was soggy. The California burrito had maybe 5 French fries at most, can barely be seen. The meat was dry and not juicy or tasty. The salad included browned avocado. The huevos a la mexicana was watery and had extra brown and almost spoilt avocado. Save your money. There is better Mexican food elsewhere.

Tacos - al pastor and lengua

Taqueria Vallarta has my favorite al pastor in the city. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I went on a Friday evening after work and they had a big, beautiful trompo.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered some al pastor tacos and lengua. The service was quick and friendly. The tacos were $4 each. The lengua is nice and soft. The al pastor is really well flavored, moist but with a good amount of char. Will need to try some of their other stuff, like the cabeza. Fair warning, I've gone for lunch before and they didn't have a trompo out, maybe it depends on the day of the week, or time of day? But when it's out, you know you'll get some delicious al pastor.

Charging the $10 event fee on discretion before the posted event start time seems... shady? illegal? My two friends got in a few minutes before with no cover. I was dealing with a bike lock while they went in. We were not there for the event but rather as volunteers from the weekly cleanup refuse crew in the Mission. You get perks as a thank-you for doing your part in making the City a cleaner place. We had just had a lovely time at another participating business (Beehive) and planned on Arcana being our final stop. Thankfully I was able to use the restroom without a fee, with my gear held up outside by the security team. While waiting in the restroom line, I told a staff member about all this, and the worker seemingly went up to the front to find out what's going on. The line took a few minutes, my friends also bumped into me, and I told them I'd likely wait for them outside the business post-restroom while they finished their wine. Already reported to the Mayor's Office. Maybe I'll add BBB. Should be honest and equitable! Four out of 200+ reviews by me have been one star, so I rarely share negativity. It's all rather unfortunate as other visits here went off without an issue. I warned a group of four about all this while I waited out front, and after talking to the front door folks, they left and thanked me for the advice. Please be careful if you visit here. . . .

The people were laughing, the drinks were flowing. It smelled really good, which we would later find out was from the food especially that Mac and cheese. We started off with different wines, some that Tom recommended based on what we told him we didn't like or did like. He apologized for our previous experience and was genuinely a nice guy. Honestly it's very admirable for a business owner to take feedback to heart and want to incorporate it. Plus he's a really cool guy when you get to know him. The staff was busy running around but still made time to come check on us. Our final verdict is we came on a bad day. This time we got the actual Waystone experience. We finally got to try the chicken bites with a creamy aioli, fries with yogurt sauce, and the star of the show was the Mac and cheese. Tik tok did live up to the hype and we will have to come back for one of their jazz nights. Be warned this place gets busy! But it's worth it.

The energy is vibrant without feeling overwhelming, and the noise level is just right. It's quiet enough to have a conversation and get lost in your own thoughts, but not so quiet that you feel awkward sitting in silence. Plus, the people watching was pretty entertaining, which definitely added to the experience. The three of us only tried two different wines. My friend ordered a glass of Masha, while my other friend and I both ordered the Los Chuchaquis. The verdict: Masha was really good. Good enough that a second glass was ordered! As for the Los Chuchaquis, I personally didn't love it. I found it a little too tannic and bitter for my taste. If you have a low tolerance for bitterness, this might not be the wine for you. That said, my friend, who ordered the same wine, absolutely loved it and thought it was delicious. So maybe I just ordered the wrong wine for my palate? ‍ Either way, the wine is only part of the experience. The energy here is fantastic, the bartender was welcoming and friendly, and the crowd was cheerful without being obnoxious, which I really appreciate. I'm not usually much of a night person, but I genuinely had a great time. It was one of those evenings that reminded me how nice it is to get out, enjoy good company, and simply soak in the atmosphere. I'm really glad I took my friends up on their offer to go out. Definitely a 5 star experience for the atmosphere, the energy, and the overall vibe. This seems to be such an interesting neighborhood. I'd love to come back and wander around, explore more, and discover what else this part of the city has to offer.
