They're the only place to have the Banana Pudding Special (best banana pudding too), they have great Strawberry Lemonade with real strawberries in it!....and if that's not enough to sweeten the pot, they're the only place that offers the maximum variety of Cheese Options. Cheese Whiz: Hit Or Myth is one of my favorite newspaper articles because Whiz is trash and American is the Philadelphia Style default. But at Jim's, whiz is different. You can get spinach and broccoli on your Chicken Cheesesteaks, I love this kind of variety and I'm already planning to try this when it's time fur my next visit. If you don't want the steak chopped finely, just ask them not to. If you want it cooked as lightly as possible, just tell them! They are nice here and they will hook you up! Otherwise they are very consistent, they virtually never give overcooked steak. You can see how closely they pay attention to the grill as they cook and they actively toss away burnt bits of steak. I went here twice a day for over a week straight and got steaks from each cook at least once!! I believe in this joint. It has real history behind it as the 2nd oldest cheesesteak joint in Philadelphia, the first in West Philadelphia period. "New Ownership" but literally all the best staff from the old ownership. The same cooks, the same genuinely nice and friendly people that worked here since I was a kid. Know your roots. This place will treat you right.
